  1. If you think this was a week of revelations, wait until you see what's coming up in the next two weeks. One big story that's been building for a year finally climaxes with a HUGE event. ;)

Poor Mercedes, she's finally ready to settle down in a committed relationship, and she's lied to and might be infected with HIV. I totally understood her smacking Malachy. It was soo Mercedes, she doesn't take s-hit from anyone. I do hope that she can work things out with Malachy though, I like them together, they're so alike.

I like how the McQueen's are always there for each other, even if they drive one another crazy. I like how Myra and Jacqui confronted Malachy, and Jacqui and Mercedes have always had their problems in the past. I really liked the scenes when Mercedes broke down with Jacqui, after she took the HIV test and started flirting with everyone.

Amy and Josh are meant to be, and they should've never broken up. There's so much history there, and their families HATE one another, even though Sarah (Amy's sister) and Hannah (Josh's sister) are best friends. When Sarah was dating Hannah and Josh's brother, Rhys, Rhys was having an affair with Sarah and Amy's mother, for those of you who want to know.

The next few weeks are going to be explosive! :)

How cute was that Amy/Josh flashback to their "antlers kiss"!! When was that scene, like 3-4 years ago?

I think it was 2 and half years ago.

  2. Some pics of the Hollyoaks stars who attended the Inside Soap Awards earlier in the week:

    Ellis Hollins with his award:

Carley Stenson in this hideous Asian-inspired thing:

    Gemma Merna (Carmel):

Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes) looks like she's dressed for a beach party:

    Leah Hackett (Tina):

    Hannah Tointon (Ex-Katy):

  3. Clare

Clare has to come back soon, she knows that Warren killed Sean. She has to come back to stir things up with Warren, Louise, and Justin.

I'm glad Russ stayed but does this mean Caroline's leaving for good?

I don't know, but I would guess she'll be back.

How old is Zak? And Michaela is around 16, 17?

I think Zak is supposed to be like 21 or 22.

Cindy is great!! I'm liking her with Darren.

I bet you also loved how she egged Louise on.

Hollyoaks: Mercedes discovers she may have HIV

    By Staff Writer, PinkNews.co.uk • September 27, 2008 - 11:48

Malachy knows he needs to be a brave man this week. He has to tell Mercedes that he may have infected her with HIV, but quite understandably, he's dreading the thought of starting that conversation.

Mercedes soon finds out the truth of her own accord and confronts Malachy about it at the Dog. In full public view she forces him to admit that he may have infected her with HIV.

A distraught Mercedes then seems to hit her self-destruct button, as she's just unable to come to terms with the shock. Jacqui eventually persuades her sister to go for a test, so that she can find out the truth one way or another.

Russ is still coming to terms with the fact that he's baby Max's dad. He tells Tina that fatherhood is going to take some getting used to. He assures Tina that she and Max can stay with him for as long as they need. But what's going to happen in their future?

Dom is not taking the news of Tina's adultery too well. Tony tries to persuade him that he's better off without her.

Mandy tries to take Dom's mind off Tina by encouraging him to explore some extra-curricular activities, and when she spots Elliot with a metal detector, she thinks it's just the ticket.

Amy has some news for Josh too. In a bid to get Ste out of her life forever, she's decided that she's going to have her pregnancy terminated. The only thing is she hasn't told her dad yet. What on earth is he going to say?

When the day of the abortion arrives, Amy starts to get cold feet. Josh tries to persuade her to go ahead with it and tells her that she's doing the right thing. But does he only have his own interests at heart here?

Darren's feeling guilty about the way that Cindy has behaved. He tries to make things up to Newt, but Newt is in hiding. The poor young lad is terrifies that Eli has come back to find him.

Darren also has a plan for Frankie and Jack. He tries to get them to have a special meal together to discuss the possibility of them moving away to live in Spain. Could this be the answer to all of their troubles?

Carmel and Calvin return from their honeymoon this week too. We wonder what married life has in store for them on their return to Chester.

  5. Mandy and Warren had sex. :o My Louise ended up sleeping in a dumpster. :( They're gonna do an alcoholism storyline aren't they? My poor beautiful Louise. :(

You like Louise? Maybe an alcholism storyline will give her a real persoanlity. :P

As Clare Devine told her last year, "The only friendship you've ever cultivated is with your make-up bag and a mirror. Anymore concealer and you would've wiped out what little bit of personality you've got left!"

Moving on to this week, which was really good. I'm glad that Russ now knows that he's the father of Tina's kid. Thursday, Friday, and next Monday's episodes are really solid.

Michaela and Zak waking up together. :o:lol:

Ste needs to stay away from Amy. I'm glad they're putting Josh back into Amy's orbit, they always should've been together and were so great together before.

LOL at Cindy faking her sickness.

  6.  It never was. Corrie was always no. 1 in the UK ratings. EE was able to beat it a few times during climaxes etc. But it was pretty much a no. 2.

That's true, I think EastEnders only briefly outrated Corrie in yearly ratings for a short time in the 90's. Corrie has always been higher rated than EastEnders in yearly ratings.

It's funny to note that when Corrie is bad shape, it doesn't seem to get the ratings drop that EastEnders gets when it's in a similar condition.

  7. Incredibly weak and repetitive tune (even for a modern pop song). This is not lead single material AT ALL. And god, the way she sings this song in her already weak voice is beyond annoying. Maybe the follow-up singles will be better pop songs, but this is not an impressive effort IMO.

  8. The song that they used for John-Paul and Craig's last scene is "Epic Last Song" by Does It Offend You, Yeah?

I'll always think of John Paul and Craig everytime I hear that song now. It was a perfect song to usher them off the show.

I'm going to miss them, as I said before, the overall storyline was an amazing ride and I can't find any faults with it.

Here's the video for the whole song btw:

  9. OMG!!!! YAY!!!! We got our Sunset Ending!!! God, the John Paul and Craig storyline was just amazing to watch, it's been an amazing ride over the past 2 and half years watching the storyline that single-handedly revived Hollyoaks. God, their reunion at the train station was such a good moment. I guess if some didn't see the storyline from the beginning to end, they won't feel the same way about it that we do.

I LOVED how they remembered the John Paul, Craig, Hannah, and Sarah dynamic and what close friends they all were. I'm glad that Sarah and Craig finally have closure and that Sarah was finally able to forgive Craig.

I'll post more on the entire week on Friday or Saturday, but god, the Sunset Ending was all I could've asked for and more.

I loved the moment where they finally see each other at the train station and John Paul says to Craig, "I keep wondering what if you hadn't walked into class that day." God, I love how they mentioned their meeting and the little injection of history here and there.

I also loved when John Paul jokingly said, "Why do you keep finding ourselves in situations like this?"

John Paul and Craig was a true love story. It didn't matter that they're gay, the storyline was treated like how any straight romance would've been treated. The forbiddeness of it, the passion, the love between these two characters, and how it impacted those around them made for some of the best soap opera I've ever seen. It's truly been an amazing experience to watch this. Bryan Kirkwood is the man.

Oh, and I'm glad that Niall's plan to poison John Paul backfired on his ass, served him right!

  10. Where has Chris Fountain been lately. Is he getting a storyline or are they waiting until James leaves?

A lot of the stuff airing now was taped in late June/ early July, so some actors might have been on vacation or doing outside projects at the time.

I'm sure he'll get his own story soon, he's been doing tons of outside projects this year.

  11. Mercedes and Kris! :o EWW and LMAO!

Malachy and his HIV+ status is going to make things a hell of a lot more complicated. Plus, Mercedes told Kris that the condom broke. :o

I also liked Malachy and Kis' conversation after Nancy got them to speak to one another at the party and the confrontation and fight.

I love it when Malachy calls Kris, "Francis."

And Malachy doesn't want to tell Mercedes about being HIV+. Nancy and Kris have to open their big months about this.

The conversation between Malachy and Mercedes was sweet. Malachy is really the only person she's been like this with, she really let her guard down with him. "If there's another girl, I just want to say, please choose me."

Then Malachy slept with Mercedes without telling her anything. :o

And Sarah seems so ashamed that Elliott is her boyfriend. I guess she likes it when boyfriends sleep with her mother (Rhys) or when they start screwing their male best friend (Craig). That girl has always been clueless. I'm glad Eilliott dumped her ass.

Warren annoys me, Clare needs to come back and roast his ass.

  12. What's this about a spin-off?

I think it's only supposed to be for 12 episodes, since other than soaps, British shows either don't last very long or have long seasons.

Apparently it's going to be much darker and more adult. I'll let you all know when it airs, and I'm sure it'll be on youtube somewhere.

The show's going to be an hour long and it will use characters seen on the parent show.

    http://hollyoaksvillage.com/2008/06/05/hol...oes-late-night/

Hollyoaks will be broadcast at a ten o’clock slot on Channel 4’s digital sister E4 from November.

In addition to the usual 1830 showing, the show will broadcast another episode later on E4 with more emphasis on adult stories and a more risky attitude to existing stories.

The shows will be an hour long which, producers say, will allow better character and plot development. The late night showing will also see the brief return of Craig Dean (Guy Burnett)

to save his sister from a deadly cliff fall

    .

According to reports, the late night editions, with a working title of Late Night Hollyoaks, will also feature an extremely unlikely marriage, as well as the Dirty Diegos playing their first gig.

    More information soon.

  13. Can someone explain to me the Michaela and Myra/JP flashbacks - what did Niall do?

Those were all flashbacks to the evil things Niall inflicted upon the McQueen family.

As for the Michaela flashback, Michaela had a drug problem earlier in the year. Niall knew this, so when he was at the McQueen house, he spiked her drink and when she went to her room to sleep it off, he injected her with a heroin overdose when he saw that she was asleep, and he planted the needle next to her. He did this to set her up and make Myra and the rest of the McQueen's lose faith in Michaela and not believe anything she had to say. Michaela insisted that she didn't inject herself, but Niall in talks with her convinced her that she must have, so she's led to believe that she did do it.

As for the JP flashback, Niall knew about Kieron and JP before everyone else. At the time Kieron was still a priest, so he set up the right moment where Myra would come to his apartment and discover that JP and Kieron were having an affair. Hence Myra's big outburst at Steph and Max's wedding towards Kieron and obviously towards Kieron having to leave the priesthood.

And of course you were watching the show by the time the Tina being pushed flashback was shown to know what it meant. :D

  14. The upcoming story with Mercedes and Malachy is going to be intense. I like the compassionate side he's brought out in Mercedes. The drama is really going to come when Mercedes finds out he's

    HIV Positive

, I wonder how she's going to react to that.

  15. I'm worried about Steph. Now that she's disowned Frankie, Jack, and Darren and when she finds out what a psycho Niall is, she's going to be really damaged. This just hasn't been her year. Good drama though. :)

I hope they don't make Step pregnant with Niall's child or something though. <_<

  16. Craig and John Paul.

I loved Craig's return episode, and how creepy was it when Tom's voiceover went all biblical towards the end of the episode? LOL!

LOVED Steph blowing off Niall, what a psycho he is. The scenes when Step discovered Jack was alive and Jack went into a heart attack were also good.

The awkward conversation between Craig and John Paul and the hug just warmed my heart. I really hope things work out for them this time, screw Kieron.

And then on Wednesday's show when Craig bumped into Zoe and he told her to tell Sarah that he was asking about her. LOL! I'm sure Sarah really wants to remember how her fiancee had a gay affair for months and dumped her for his gay best friend.

LOL! At Michela's crush on Mike.

Carley Stenson (Steph) was once again great on Wednesday's show. "Don't call me love!" Too bad she had to ruin it by screwing Niall by the end of the episode. ...But that won't last long. ;)

I loved Cindy berating Steph about spending the night with Niall.

I also loved Mandy telling Niall off, what a lunatic he was when he looked like he was going to hit her before John Paul stepped in.

Great scene in Thursday's episode with Kieron finding out that Niall is in fact Myra's long lost son. This storyline is about to get very heated and ties in to so many others. :)

Mercedes looks hot on Friday's episode. :)

It's so weird to actually see Mercedes in love for once.

The confrontation between Kieron and Niall was very solid too.

The scene with Craig and John Paul at the McQueen house was very good too.

Craig: I spent the entire last year wondering what could've been. I go to clubs and I wonder if you'd like the music. I loved that part, as JP is a DJ. And their kiss and ultimate sex was hot, and I loved the tension. It was so well juxtapositioned with Niall poisoning Kieron and Kieron's death

John Paul to Craig: Don't be daft, it's you, it's always been you!

God, this was such a good week for Hollyoaks. :)

  17. What about Mandy? And is Tom older than Holly?

I'm so not reading that spoiler. ;)

Mandy is a Richardson, her mother married Gordon Cunnigham and that's how Tom was produced. Mandy is a step-sister to the Cunningham siblings, as well as Tom's half-sister.

Holly is a few years older than Tom.
