  1. Yeah, Lindelof is really no one to talk considering they made that show up by the seat of their pants week to week.
  2. I think it's far-fetched if Glenn survives, but not too far-fetched. Crazy [!@#$%^&*] like that has happened in the comics. Either way, it was easily one of the best episodes in a while, and made the implacable zombie horde scary again.
  3. I think part of their scoop is largely based on the Reddit/Dugpa rumor mill, as have been some of TV Line's; Dugpa picked up JJL first, and then other outlets have been following onto it. They're also alluding to the Daily Mail story with those pix, which mistakenly identified either Leigh or the other blonde (possibly Natasha Gregson Wagner) as Sheryl Lee in the Mojave. To our knowledge Sheryl was not there, though she was filming in WA a couple weeks ago. Either way, if it is confirmed about JJL I am very pleased. I love her.

There's always violently negative and positive reaction. I think it's been pretty decent so far, but it has yet to really wow me like Series 8. That's likely part of the function of the 2-parters this year. The upcoming Zygon story is supposed to be very good. They tend to not officially announce anyone at DW until the current series is complete, but I believe there was an intv the other day where Moffat mentioned he is already working on next year. Which appears to be what your link suggests as well...

The Eighth Doctor gets a spiffy new IDW comic series.

Bob Baker appears to once again be attempting a K9 solo project - this time a movie. David Tennant and Catherine Tate are reprising the Tenth Doctor and Donna in Big Finish audio dramas next year. Their new adventures - along with those of Kate Stewart, the War Doctor, and River Song, among others - are previewed here.
  7. The Daily Mail is on the scene as Agent Cooper ventures into the Mojave Desert. I don't recognize either blonde woman pictured, though the Mail suggests one "looks very much like Sheryl Lee". Personally I don't see it, but it could be a body double or stuntwoman. Some think Blonde #2 is Natasha Gregson Wagner, who co-starred in Lynch's Lost Highway; I have my doubts but she does look familiar. (Could almost be Tracy Middendorf, though it's not her either.) There's also a suspicion that Blonde #1 is the great Jennifer Jason Leigh. Which would be exciting, if true.

Just as well, since BBC-A cuts into them for ads, and even sometimes screws with the frame speed to fill their allotted timeslot. Unacceptable!

I think the two-parter structure of this series has steadily improved as it's gone along, but The Girl Who Waited is definitely up there as Capaldi and Coleman's very best work. Just incredible and I have no idea where it's going next with the second half. I also like that they have not abandoned the ongoing subplot - of Clara becoming the Doctor's ultimate Doctor-like companion, and withdrawing more and more from her own life into their shared existence. As joyous as their re-affirmation of life was at the end of the Christmas special, it also felt a lot to me like Clara refusing to deal with her loss and a normal life. This series, so far, still shows me her cruising for a rough end.

In a move only winners make, Cosby has fired his longtime lawyer.
  11. "He's live-tweeting Tommy's abduction!"
  12. Fine episode, but I am over two TWD archetypes: The tortured pacifist and the brooding, rootless loner. The wordless opening with Enid was very well-done by Jennifer Lynch and the actress, but I just don't care about her schtick that I've seen before with more layered characters. If you want to be there, be there; she clearly has been in Alexandria for some time. Stop moping about and acting like you're above it all when psychos come calling to kill everyone and you're like, 'gotta go.' That's [!@#$%^&*] obnoxious and idiotic. Also, Morgan is a fine character and Lennie James an incredible actor, but no, I don't care about Morgan the pacifist grappling with the need to kill. I have seen that character at least four or five times on TWD. Move on. BTW, I felt Ron's pain last week but this week he needs to stop [!@#$%^&*] around. Rick saved his life more than once, his dad beat the hell out of him and now Carl's saved him too. He better not give his poor mother [!@#$%^&*] about killing that lunatic either (Alexandra Breckinridge did a great job this week, BTW). I also liked seeing Carol's relationship with little Sam continue. I didn't realize the "A" on the stairs was put there by him, seeing Melissa McBride mentions in an interview. I was glad to see several articles suggest I was not the only one that thought Enid might be a mole for the Wolves. That was my first thought when she showed up at Carl's very nonchalant, paired with the opening. I'm still not convinced she isn't. And I have little sympathy for her in that case. Carl can make Ron put her down. This Forbes article makes it very clear - I also thought I heard Enid say, "that's how we..." and trail off. It's her, and she can die.
  13. Tonight's episode is directed by Jennifer Lynch, who shot the episode featuring Noah's demise last season.

    Settlers!
  15. Peter Sarsgaard denies doing TP in a peculiar way. I know several sources had either him, his wife (Maggie Gyllenhaal) or both tied to the current production or filming - so whatever he means here is curious. Or he could be lying per his NDA, but who knows.
  16. Carl was briefly seen with his maybe-girlfriend, IIRC.
  17. So, I really enjoyed the Season 6 premiere. The methodically-performed operation was great, and I'm glad to see all the various character beats played out, largely in flashback. It's also nice to see Lennie James as Rick's counterpoint, and Sasha potentially being on a better keel than Abraham. (Also nice to see Sonequa Martin-Green in the opening credits, though that's been the portent of doom for many.) I really don't care about the "extreme badass villain" Negan plotline from the comics, but as with most things from the source material, the show tends to make it much better than the comic. I assume something like that is coming, but whatever it is it's very intriguing.

  19. Soooo, today in TP news: A big, big scene filmed on location last night in Everett, Washington, at the site of the Palmer house from the pilot and FWWM. Kyle MacLachlan was present as Agent Cooper, as was another actor who I won't name. I'm not going to post the link in here, but the videos and footage of this sequence are circulating on social media and have made their way to TMZ and other sites. It's big enough and shocking enough that I don't want to post it here out of respect for the production, even if we can't be sure what it means. If you don't want what could be a big SPOILER, don't go looking. Meanwhile, Mädchen Amick talks about Mark Frost at the UK Festival a week or two: Also: Kyle MacLachlan last night, thanking fans for coming out:
