I'm not holding out hope for anything too massive. There is only so much Obama can do here without being labeled a fascist by the right and centrists. I know what I'd like him to do, but those aren't the same things as what is potentially feasible.

Scott Wilson is starring in Brit Marling's new Netflix series The OA, premiering tomorrow. Marling has done great indie sci-fi films.

I'm just thrilled, because to the best of my knowledge the role she is taking on - "Number One" - is conceived of as the central lead of the show. That is a huge deal both for Star Trek and for her, and for television. Trek is a massive franchise. Before departing to focus on his other show Bryan Fuller intended for the role to be cast with a woman of color. A friend of mine told me most of the casting thus far is all his, and I hope she was as well. I'm just so happy for her.

This is unavoidable treason and espionage, and the media has picked it up. Someone in our government needs to come out and either stop this or do something actionable towards Russia about it before the end of January.
