  1. I agree. She drove me up the wall and deeply miscalculated her much larger than usual audience. But at least the tax drip-drop is going to keep coming. And the focus will make him crazy.
  2. I like Rachel Maddow a lot, but this is the kind of smug woolgathering monologuing she does a lot which goes nowhere and it's a big part of why we lose IMO. If she was going to go on national TV and hit #1 on Twitter she needed to come with something real and not her usual giddy nerd act and a lot of smoke. This makes any media inquiry into Trump and his taxes a little weaker, but at least it keeps the conversation at the forefront. I am so angry at her thinking she could come out and do her usual wonk schtick.
  3. If it is the 2005 returns - which the WH is claiming it is while decrying Maddow - then it better have Russian evidence in it or she's poisoned the well.
  4. I like Rachel, but this is definitely not the night for her increasingly tiresome and mannered long wind-up act where she grins a lot and repeats herself about a dozen times. She'll need to get right to it.
  5. Yeah, I think the show is probably not great (the showrunner choice was a poor one) but I also think there was an ingrained need to attack it online based on some pointless Internet groundswell to re-create the Danny Rand character as Asian. That being said, he is making a fool of himself.
  6. And they're idiots.
  7. It would be one thing if it was just a younger man, even one who is 17/underage in America. For me the bigger issue is how it and Michelle have been played: As a desperate, slightly weird/creepy middle-aged frustrated hausfrau who everyone calls stuck-up. It's just not the Michelle I remember in any way, except for her occasional scene with the family talking about the good old days or dispensing some home truths. And even then she is very placid. The character as written and performed is literally the classic stereotype we have in America of desperate, unhinged lonely women who seduce young boys in school, or marry convicts in prison. If Michelle had come in blunt, tough and told Sharon the truth without doing some sort of sub-Tennessee Williams monologue about cellulite and so forth - said she screwed up and slept with a student who'd made the first move, that it was good and that she knew it was wrong - that would be a horse of a slightly different color for me.
  8. Trump is still whining about Obama being more popular than him. That's all he really cares about and it's why he hasn't left the topic of Obama in weeks.
  9. That story plus the bizarre focus on the increasingly-annoying teens - and basically nothing else going anywhere serious at the moment - has driven me away out of boredom for a bit. I guess I'll check in soon. Maybe. All that exceptional production value promo-wise for something so foul. I don't mind the actors. It would be one thing if it was a story where Michelle became involved with a cute younger man (a university student, someone of age) upon arriving in town, like Douglas Sirk's All That Heaven Allows. That I could get behind. But she was still never the type to be a middle-class prude. I blame the writing for the characters and the choice of story.
  10. Yikes, I did not recognize him.
  11. The Twin Peaks bus heads for SXSW promising a mysterious "first look event" for social media contest winners next weekend:
  12. Isaac Hempstead Wright talks Ramin Djawadi's concert tour with the GOT score, the musicians in the cast and the show wrapping up.
  13. Upon a quick Googling, James Mackay [sic] is much more attractive than the photo Soapsuds posted in disgust (and he clearly took his time to troll for the worst possible photo he could use) when he discovered the man was not barely 18 and 90 pounds soaking wet. For the record, I am hardly for CW's Dynasty - I just find the way some people pick and choose their creeper photos to be very calculated.
  14. Wow.
  15. GOT returns July 16.
  16. Naturally, Soapsuds takes the time out to find the one shot of Rafael de la Fuente (who was all over Empire, fully dressed) where he is not only half-naked but looks barely legal.
  17. And the second it does happen (likely before four years IMO) and not a moment too soon, Greg will instantly change his profile picture to [Insert Flavor of the Month Republican Here] and never mention Trump again.
