  1. And if you enjoy watching even arrogant Joe Scarborough melt down, as I do, here is his morning rant:
  2. No, it's someone new in the motel. I've heard a number of different names but I'm not sure who it is - not Seyfried. That's Ben Rosenfield as the creepy guy with what looks like the creepy camera. Madeline Zima is the girl saying "try me". I think the heavy woman with the little dog is the same woman who got shot in the ass in Mulholland Drive (watch it!). I expect to see Sheryl Lee next week in the final promo, presumably as Laura. I know some people think the staircase shot here is the Palmer house, I'm not sure. TV showrunners talk to Time about how TP influenced them.
  3. Uh, I completely believe it and have said it all along. It's claiming Pence is the same or worse that gets me. Trump is a noxious blowhard but has coasted by on the illusion of charisma and bluster for decades. Pence has the charisma of a wood tick, has zero bluster and cannot get himself elected to national office - all things that are anathema to long-term survival in Washington. The media may prop him up a bit if it comes to that to keep the country afloat in the immediate wake of this disaster with Trump, but as a standing president? He doesn't have a prayer on his own and when election time comes around they won't be trying to help him. Because Pence is neither charismatic nor exciting nor capable. They've never had the love affair with Pence they've had with others; the only attempt to burnish his credentials was last year, when it seemed like he might moderate Trump or help him pivot to becoming human and respectable. He was a talisman for Trump, a symbol, an accessory, but he didn't do it. He was never anything on his own. Bottom line: We can handle Pence. Meanwhile:
  4. Meanwhile, Trump just panicked (again) - told Lester Holt Comey told him he wasn't under investigation, and that he was going to fire Comey anyway regardless. This destroys his fake pretext, in addition to being another batch of lies. Also during this interview - I can't believe I am saying this - Trump took credit for inventing the expression "prime the pump". Irate, Joe Scarborough called into MSNBC to again call Trump a liar and a fool, which to be fair is all true. This is happening very fast, y'all. From Time, this ugly expose: Donald Trump After Hours Charles Pierce has a go. An absolutely deranged interview with DT from The Economist. And Matthew Yglesias' dissection of it.
  5. Ol' Joe Scarborough is raging this morning. Calling the entire WH pathetic, lying sycophants and saying "my party is collapsing".
  6. Brittany Allen (Marissa #1, AMC), of all people, is staying busy in horror flicks lately - first Extraterrestrial, now this:
  7. No it wouldn't. Meanwhile, an important update:
  8. Politico talks to people who know (and mostly don't like) Trump about what he's done: "To think there's any logic beyond self-preservation is wrong." Meanwhile:
  9. More from the Times on Trump v. Comey.
  10. Meanwhile:
  11. Not sure if we ever posted this. Jennifer Lynch talks to Charles Gibson at the start of Season 2 re: the Secret Diary.
  12. David Gregory - of all people - loses it:
  13. Showtime uses Google to parcel out hidden Twin Peaks videos.
  14. Politico: More at link.
  15. It's a matter of time and persistence. If this keeps up they'll have to take him down to save themselves. I've always believed that and I still do. Even my mother, who is remarkably pragmatic and tends to keep her cool, said she was scared tonight. She lived through Nixon and worked with the Department of Transportation in Washington on behalf of various congressmen for most of her career. She's very practical. She's now more politically involved than she's been in years, running various groups of women voters - she got more involved after canvassing in PA during the election. End this as soon as possible:
  16. I don't think they've managed to slip out of a single one.
  17. The closest person to Trump's ear at any given moment. The question is if this was someone's boneheaded idea (I doubt even Jeff Sessions wants to be stuck selling this) or if Trump did it himself as a wild defensive swing. I've said it before, I'll say it again: Bush and the neocons were one thing. They were craven but slick and experienced. This utter incompetence and inexperience will break Trump and his administration. Soon.
