ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
This actually only has a link inside the Vulture clickbait to the actual interview from another digital magazine which is elsewhere, but the full interview about her career is worth it:

Newsweek was gutted and turned into a content/clickbait mill a la Facebook with no real editorial some years back. It is not what it was even back in the 90s. Meanwhile, in case anyone cares: Mark Halperin is currently relegated to right wing outlet Newsmax alongside Diamond and Silk and Sean Spicer.- The Politics Thread
Speaking of CNN, this is what they're citing today: What I wouldn't give for a board that does not automatically add anything I put outside the quote into the fúcking quote. (And bans people)- Y&R to air classic episodes
The only one that resonates me with is Bashioum, and she's not coming back. If they had a strong known soap actress in the role I suppose you could reconceive the character, but all the post-Bashioum actresses in the role seem weak or bizarre.- Y&R to air classic episodes
Three different white women are sprung for Keith Hamilton Cobb in this 2003 episode! And yet none of them fùcked him AFAIK except maybe Phyllis? Which member of the audience called Homeland Security? I cannot believe they were fobbing Victoria off on Baldwin at this point. She's butcher than he is. David Lago was so cute. Whatever happened to him? And of course Thad was a dream. I remember when he turned up as a gay for pay escort on nip/tuck buck naked not long after this; I almost died. They need to clean JT up a bit more after what they did to him.- The Politics Thread
LOL, that is the only poll I've seen where it's anywhere near that close. I think it's +7 at worst, myself. CNN needs a horse race, though. I believe in calling the media out early and often, but it's just not true they are ignoring the USPS story or trying to get rid of it. It's been everywhere on TV and in print all weekend and most of last week. I don't expect much from the media at any turn, ever, but this issue is getting a lot of exposure, and that's because public outcry and attention from the people is the only way to pressurize them and in turn the administration. It does work and has worked before, first with George Floyd and defunding/demilitarizing the police and with many other issues. That's how those issues turned overwhelmingly in our favor even in public polling. This is something we've seen before too, because the media was absolutely desperate for a horse race and GOP comeback narrative in both '08 and '12, and neither really worked, though they pretended there was one to the end of the race, even when neither McCain nor Romney had much of a chance. And that's because they were continually pushed and pressured, day in and day out and faced with public and IRL protest and pressure online and offline. That's why the USPS story has taken off in media, it's why the admin is freezing up, and it's why the House is back in session next week and not next month.- The Politics Thread

The onus is on the GOP now, for sabotaging the post office, hurting not just voters but seniors needing medication, etc. That is the angle and that is the only story on mainstream media, not Fox. That is what is slowing them down on this sabotage now, even more than any hearing, though that will be important. That's why they've begun to back down on their efforts with USPS.- ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?

Did they ever try to put Nick with Christine? I'm just saying, it wouldn't be the worst fling on Earth though she's much smarter than him. It wouldn't be true love but could serve a plot function, and it would make Phyllis and Sharon nuts.- The Politics Thread

I'm still making my way through the classics (and the online archive) but I'll second how much Christine adds to the picture. Putting aside the obvious nepotistic push at some points, they evolved that character over many years from teenybopper to adult with stories not all about her love life. You saw her grow from child to adult with a legitimate career and change of focus. And Lauralee Bell had a very distinct sort of quiet class and grace. I remember her in the '92 episode being the only one not riding Drucilla about that porn situation, defending her. She's okay by me.- The Politics Thread

I don't for the life of me remember Alice Barrett's tiny role (as a doctor) on OLTL which she mentions here. I've loved her any time I've seen her on AW. She still looks great. (I last saw her with Sam Rockwell in the truly bizarre Chuck Palahniuk adaptation Choke, in which she debuts butt naked sitting on an airplane toilet.)- The Politics Thread
