  1. If we take Texas, I'm calling it a day and going to play Fall Guys.
  2. It begins.
  3. One day out:
  4. IMO it won't be close. But we'll see. I could be very wrong.
  5. tbh the several different ex-GOP strategists (and Carville!) who are commenting on podcasts, interviews, etc. baffled by the bedwetting on the Dem side over current numbers are right. I've been saying this for over a decade, well before '16. Too many people on our side handwring and cry when we're about to kill them. You have to take it to them and be proud of it, be happy about it. The only thing these people or the media respect is a killer instinct. Dems spend far too much time feverishly seeking the worst outlier results in order to concoct nightmare narratives. Look at the actual spread and rejoice. Of course, it's okay to be nervous, it's okay to be traumatized by what happened, we all are. But when you have a lead you celebrate it, you use it, you don't hide from it for fear of what happens if it goes away. This is a fundamental flaw in elements of the party and the left that we have to breed out.
  6. Ohhhhhhhh my. Meanwhile:
  7. Once again Trump overplays his hand and telegraphs his moves way ahead of time. Which is good news, IMO. The entire current media conversation is "how do we deal with Trump preemptively declaring a fake victory?" That is not going away in the next 60+ hours or whatever. It's going to be The Issue. And they will be expected to react accordingly, as opposed to brushing it off and letting the GOP work the refs as usual. The media knows the eyes of the nation are on them. It will be part of the narrative and they will have incredible pressure not to cave.
  8. Michael Moore falls for a comedian's viral clip:
  9. Sean Connery was a complicated man of a certain era. I am not going to go down the cancel road with the dude the day he died; I knew about those comments decades ago and I certainly don't like them, but I prefer to believe he evolved and he did a lot of good in his life and career. YMMV. Anyway: Here is a great thread and story. One of Connery's very best performances and most underseen was in Sidney Lumet's The Offence, was made as part of his multi-picture deal with United Artists which he got to make small films he believed in upon agreeing to return for Diamonds are Forever. He also donated his salary from Diamonds to found the Scottish International Educational Trust. The Offence is a dark, brutal experience and you can find it for rental on Amazon; it used to be on Prime for free. I highly recommend it, along with his other, kookier '70s Lumet film, The Anderson Tapes with Christopher Walken. For me, it took the most balls for him to walk away from Bond and do films like those and most especially John Boorman's Zardoz - a singular vision if ever there was one. One more underseen diamond of his: Outland.
  10. We still have a very good shot at the Senate.
