  1. SoapHub just had an article about Vanessa Marcil returning because Lois made an offhand comment alluding to Brenda the other day.  It had no basis in fact and was all for clicks.  The entire story was built around that one line of dialogue lol.  SoapHub is awful.

Esme's story is complete.  Sure, Ace is around, but wouldn't Esme get arrested if she ever reappeared?   I suppose the door is open for a return later on, but I see no need for her anytime soon.  Characters need to continue to leave the canvas.  We don't need to bring more back.

I thought Molly was always the brain. I do think they were trying to wait on Ethan and Kristina, as they also did with Nik and Emily IMO (except Amber left and they got to recast). I just never took her as the good girl, YMMV. Now what does she have? That bar of Julian's, lol. Hopefully she can find a real career.

I swear there was a lot of talk about Kristina's AP studies and her desire to get good grades early on.  I think Kristina is supposed to be smart.  Managing Julian's bar was not where I thought she would be 15 years after she was aged.  It's more of she's wasting her brains and ability.

I think I may misjudge young Molly because she was "precocious" and annoying.

I think YMMV is the best way to describe it because I don't think either view is wrong.

It's also probably not terribly relevant now because the show is painting it as Molly is the smart one and Kristina is the f*ck up.

I don't even remember her being into that lol. I've always seen Kristina as the spoiled little flake/wild child and Molly as the studious one really, particularly with HP. Her love for novels and literature just fed back to that, IMO. I appreciated them discussing her literary romanticization of Jason and Sam at length a few weeks ago - it's been forever since anyone brought that stuff up. Little Molly was basically Mini-Spinelli as a girl in her first couple years.

The whole thing with T.J. and Molly's 'partnership' and largely offscreen relationship is so bizarre. Didn't she randomly cheat on him with Brando? What happened there?

I remember Kristina really obsessed with going to Yale.  Isn't that where she went?  But Sonny like bought off the admissions or something and sexyKristina came back after she dropped out to make her Mob Daughter reality show.  I assumed she'd figure her life out at some point and actually become a lawyer.   Yeah, LA's Kristina was flakey with all the Ethan crap, but I always contrasted her with Michael and she seemed like the "good" girl compared to Michael.  I also thought the show might have been long hauling it with Ethan/Kristina like they did with Robin/Jason and were just waiting till Lexi looked more adult.

I did think Molly was a mini Spinelli, but in the quirky way.  Not exactly in the brains department.  That was just my take.  Honestly, young Haley Pullos/Molly was pretty obnoxious so I could have missed intelligence cues.

Yes, Molly cheated on TJ while he was kidnapped! because she thought he left her.  She had sex with Brando, who only looked about 2 decades older than her, and it was creepy.  But TJ forgave her.  Probably off screen.

  4. Kristina has always pushed Sonny away in some ways, but I always felt it was a front and she only wanted his love and approval.  This behavior isn't new.  I agree it's in character.

To be honest, I always thought it was a weird flip flop to make Kristina the flaky one when in a lot of ways she was so studious and dedicated to being a lawyer early in Lexi's run.

Molly was actually the flaky girl with her weird romance novels she wrote and her entirely fantasized version of love.  I always questioned why Molly was so pragmatic and didn't want marriage and only a domestic partnership with TJ.  But HP's Molly and LA's Kristina didn't get much of a solid POV for years so whatever.  OldLadyMolly probably explained it when she was talking to her stuffed horse for 4 days earlier in the year lol.

I just don't get Molly/TJ's concern.  Even if the Sonny danger stuff is accurate, it's not brand new information.  And it's not like Molly isn't blood related to Sonny herself.

Don't forget a subtle dig at Maggie.  That's the basis of their rapport. 🤨

Also, how long did the Bella reboot last?  It feels like they put out one issue and pulled the plug.  Maybe he should've hired Everett…

I think it was only one issue, but it seemed like Theresa was at least working on a second issue from some of her dialogue, so maybe two.

And what's Marlena going to say in their bi-annual therapy sessions?

The correct thing would be to recommend a new therapist and walk away from it all because of conflict of interest.  But she will probably tell him he hasn't conquered his sex addiction and is self-sabotaging.  And throw in that Kristen is an evil, conniving bitch and he was clearly the victim lol.

Some of the many reasons why I thought today seemed a little like Ron’s writing style 😂😂

I am  just not sure what Alex has to gain sleeping with Kristen besides a night of sex.  I thought this was a ruse to get Theresa/Brady back respectively.  Alex is pretty hot.  I am sure he could go to the local small bar and find a woman to have casual with sex with that wasn't a felon, psychotic, baby stealing, kidnapping, lying weirdo obsessed with an entirely different man.  I don't know if it's Ron or scabs but there was nothing that connected the dots from point A to B.  Kristen and Alex have legitimately had about 5 conversations ever lol.

  8. There was way too much Konstantin in this episode.  Is he really surprised Maggie wants a pre-nup?  Lol.

I don't think this bothers anyone except me, but I can't stand EOB's wig.  I can understand it at first, but she's been in the role awhile.  Just ditch it and have someone comment that Theresa changed her hair.  NuTate has dark hair anyway, so it really doesn't matter.  It just looks so fake and cheap and EOB looks better with dark hair anyway.

Sorry, Alex and Kristen were gross lol.

OMG, I can't believe I'm just now realizing that Alex and Xander have the same damn name, lol.

When Paul Telfer was first cast a lot of people mentioned he should have been Alex Kiriakis instead.  In some ways it's weird, but in some ways it actually seems like a normal real life occurrence and Alexander is a pretty common name.

Not Joss confiding in Sonny's hitman of nearly 30 years about how Dex "is not the kind of guy that would kill for money", lol.

There are other shows on TV that have criminal protagonists yet do not prop them up or excuse their behavior this much.

I felt the irony through all their scenes.  Like Jason is better than Dex or Sonny, why?  Joss is an idiot.

  10. Drew and Nina are clearly headed for some sort of romance.  They have decent chemistry, both are single, and it's something different and interesting for both characters.

Also, why didn't anyone on this thread tell me it was a Violet episode today?🙄  Of course she would get his breathing mask and listen to 3 songs and not call 911 or her father.

IIRC once the strike material ended or close to it they had Jake drop in a line about him and Charlotte no longer being a thing. Thank God.

Well, considering them becoming a thing mostly happened off screen, it's not much of a loss for anyone.    I always think Charlotte/Jake are related because of Lucky/Lulu, but I obviously know Jason is his dad.  I just imagined they spent a lot of family holidays together so it's a little creepy.

I was surprised to hear Finola (Nominee Zoom last week) say that she & JPS hope that Vanna will be back together soon. The last I recall it was said that Charlotte was off somewhere in a private hospital recuperating. I have trouble picturing Anna forgiving him.

I am not really surprised.  Finola probably just likes working with JPS.  From what I have seen they have always been quite complimentary of one another.  I don't take that as a sign the show will pair them again.

I recall hearing Charlotte was getting help, but I find it weird she just entirely disappeared for most of the fallout.  Again, I am not complaining nor do I need Charlotte period, but the show did seem to be setting her and Jake up as a couple and the Victor "brainwashing"/tarot cards/letters stuff seemed to all be quickly dropped.

We also never see Georgie and I thought she was being set up for the teen scene as well.  All those boys need at least one girl to go after.  Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Emma was brought back.

While I don't think it would ever actually happen, it would be an incredibly fun surprise if Jada turned out to be the villain in her marriage.   But, regardless of the writer, DAYS rarely does anything without telegraphing it far in advance.

Also, housekeeping at the Salem Inn is nasty.  Everett threw the divorce papers in the trash yesterday, but somehow they're still in the room.  How often do they take away the trash at the Inn? I hate to think how frequently they change the sheets.😵‍💫

Ha!  It would be pretty funny if Jada was playing an epic long game and was a dirty cop the entire time and working with Clyde.  Bobby/Everett found out and she tried to have him killed via a staged car accident and her next crime will be to take out Rafe.  It won't happen, but it's a fun idea.

I'll give the Salem Inn housekeeping a pass.  Everett did throw away the papers but it did seem like he was up early in the morning drinking.  He went to go have breakfast after downing his whiskey neat, so maybe the maids hadn't been there yet or Everett puts a do not disturb sign on the door.  He seems like the type of guy who would be annoyed by any interruption and/or is convinced a maid might sneak through his private secret stuff.

    That's the hope.

Honestly if Valentin never appeared again I wouldn't even notice lol.  I completely forget about him and then he shows up and I wonder why he still is on this show.

I feel that's what is going to happen as well to Val.

And Charlotte...who was already getting a teen love interest...can go and stay with her mama Lulu.

When is she coming out of the coma again?

I am not complaining but it is a bit weird they built so much up with Charlotte and she just......disappeared.

Hopefully Lulu comes out of that coma soon.

I just hope he wasn't the one that set the Horton House on fire, because we know Stefan shot Xander, and Goldman shot at Lucas and Kate, but we still don't know who set the fire.

I don't think he's the one that set the Horton House on fire.  I think the implication is that it was someone connected to Clyde.   And if Everett ends up connected to Clyde I might actually scream and lose all faith in Days.

  16. 14 minutes ago, Vee said:

I wouldn't either really after all these years, but I do think Drew and Nina's crazy pairing and scheming is the most fun thing on the show right now lol. I'm down for more of it. I've turned a corner on worse characters.

And God no, please no more romantic Valentin. With anyone. Let him be the bad guy and go.

I feel like after this whole Pikeman arc is over that Valentin might go.  He's just not very connected to the canvas, Charlotte is off somewhere, he has no love interest or family, and he rarely appears.

Honestly all it took for me was some sharper, more mischievous writing recently (leaning into Watros' innate comic/campy sense of the character, though Nina has been a spoiled, unstable and hyperdramatic rich girl since Michelle Stafford) and a very hot sex scene with Cameron Mathison. Those two are old soap pros that know their business. But yes, I agree with you, she's had too much stick in the last year or two ever since they were apparently forced to put her with Sonny lol.

I do think Drew is more intrigued by her than he is willing to admit to anyone, starting with himself. It's an old soap staple. He put in a good word for her to Willow the other day for no real reason. Chem test with RoboJordan aside, I suspect Nina is the plan there assuming CM/CW stay on the show..

I think Nina is a mess of a character and her backstory is so complicated I can't even deal with it all.  It's just not any fun when Carly has an adversary that's always the designated loser.

I wouldn't cry if Nina got written off tomorrow.   I agree that CM/CW might have something there and it's probably the route the show will go.  It's better than her and Valentin, which is where I thought this was going to lead back to.

Nina & Carly are written totally differently, to me, in one major way.

Carly never feels sorry for herself (or if she does, she does it in private & never lets anyone see) & she is not one to whine, nor is she one to go on & on & on about things. To a very large degree, she operates as a survivor, just putting one foot in front of the other & repeating until either she is busy & engaged in doing something or the situation changes & usually for the better. Carly also doesn't blame other people. She owns her sh*t. In most cases that would give her rootabiity but somehow it doesn't except for many people, like me, who are Carly fans. What Jason said about her resilience is very true to her character. And 5 mil is not chump change.

Nina constantly whines, regularly feels sorry for herself, ALWAYS blames someone else - usually Carly - and goes on & on & on about things endlessly & worst of all she says she never intended any harm to come & then she turns around & does the same thing or something similar over again. Only Ava tells her the truth & chastises her for not THINKING through things instead of just impulsively taking action! (I love Cynthia Watros but it is impossible to me, to like Nina!)

I have to completely disagree.  Carly whines and plays victim all the time while saying how strong she is.  She made a whole big deal about how she was going to survive on her own and accepted Jason's offer of the MC in approx 2 mins.   And, yeah, 5 million isn't chump change, but Carly didn't earn that money herself.  She got it from Jax and Sonny and they would have gladly given her 5 million more if she asked.  No one was going to let Carly be poor or homeless.  She has friends, family, children, boyfriends, exes all of whom would help her.

Nina does whine a bunch too and generally does impulsive and stupid things, but she's not worse than Carly at this point.  One of Carly's main characteristics is she's impulsive too.  The difference is Nina gets vilified by the entire town every time she makes a mistake.   I find Nina mostly pathetic, but I certainly don't think Carly's is much superior to her.

  19. 12 minutes ago, Vee said:

Same! And I have wanted Nina's ass gone for almost a whole decade (until very recently).

I am about to start a Nina fan club because her writing is so awful.  Everyone in town hates her including her daughter, her other daughter is dead, Michael treats her borderline abusively, she can't see her grandkids, she had sex with Drew and he's disgusted (maybe?), everyone mocks how poorly she does all her jobs and Sonny would rather be with AVA than her.

Carly had to be 'poor' for a few months and ended up inheriting Kelly's for free, keep her house, got Jason back, and everyone adores her and tells her how awesome she is.  Yes, her mother died and that's awful, but in pretty much every situation that wasn't because of a real life death, she comes out smelling like a rose and always has.  She managed to commit an idiotic crime that had repercussions and people still see her as the victim.

I’m really starting to wonder who made that decision.

I’m afraid it’s gonna be DID, but I hope it isn’t. There’s just too much stuff that happened, both with Ron’s writing and the scab writing.

Everett running out of the Pub when he first saw Jada, Everett saying he doesn’t know who Bobby is, but having no problem using Bobby’s credit card to buy an engagement ring for Stephanie back in Seattle, etc.

And the fact that he had the picture of him and Jada on his phone.  That means he knows he knows her.  Unless Jada sent him that picture as proof, but I don't think that's what the audience is supposed to think lol.

The heavy early morning drinking might be some sort of clue, but literally the entire Dimera family drinks before breakfast so maybe not.

Carly was wrong two huge times in the past year. Willow - illegal DNA test & keeping it from everyone that Nina was her bio-mother and Insider Trading. In both instances of her being wrong it was amazingly public.

No one was ever even mad at her about either of those things though lol.  Only Nina.  Willow was mad for 5 minutes.  And Insider trading is illegal.  Sure, she lost the Metro Court for a bit, but it's not like she actually went to prison.  Nina was made to look like the bad guy for reporting a crime.  Neither Jason or Sonny actually died.  Look, I like Carly much more than I like Nina, but the writing is almost entirely favorable for Carly.

Every loss Carly has suffered the last few years except the loss of her mother has mostly been her fault.  Even when Carly is "down and out" there are a line of people willing to help her out.  If I am at the point where I am defending Nina, of all people, you know the writing is slanted.

  22. 11 minutes ago, Taoboi said:

In a word...NO. But you know me well enough to know if GH was cancelled tomorrow what's on my wishlist for Sonny. ;) And I expect him to BEG. ;);)

    Obviously lol.

    15 minutes ago, Taoboi said:

In fact...one thing I was hoping for back then was that when Sonny/Nina got together that they would really play that Nina/Carly rivalry versus the slilted writing that came out of it leaning in Carly's direction. During and before Nixon Falls, I felt every scene that was a Carly vs Nina scene, it was even between both of them which is part of the reason I LIVED for their scenes.

Another thing I was hoping for was that yes, Sonny/Nina would be together for a while. And that the one thing that could break them up...no question...IS BRENDA. Not that she would be around. But I could see Carly giving Nina the Sam-in-an-Elevator Special because it would play on Nina's insecurities and something Carly would do and use. Only for Brenda to FINALLY appear. Or at least that was what I hoped for back when we were getting frequent VM teases.

Yeah, I hated the slanted writing for Carly vs. Nina.   I do believe Carly does know both Jason and Sonny better than most women and does understand them.  Instead of letting Carly watch the whole Nina/Sonny romance implode like she knew it would,  Carly always had to be 'right'.  Nina was always the designated loser.

It also doesn't help that Sonny acts like he's never know love like this before with EVERY love interest.

Brenda coming back and Nina slowly losing it would have always been a great story.
