It's extremely well-written in the late 1970s and very early 1980s.  What always impressed me is there's very few "throwaway" scenes.  If someone is discussing an event with another character, you better believe the other character will soon be a player in the storyline.  And no one is EVER anywhere by accident.  Henry Slesar places them all exactly where he needs them to be.

I agree with your analysis and it makes me think...

What I like so far : The writing - sharp, intelligent dialogue. Not too much melodrama or repeating. Straight to the point, forward, fast-pace. I don't think a modern soap even in 2024 is going in this pace. You really can't miss an episode! Amazingly correct and coherent plot - hints and seeds of things to come are put months in advance. Atmosphere and directing - angles and sets reminiscent to film noir and old Hollywood suspense thrillers. There are moments I find myself searching for Bette Davis to come out of one door.   Acting - very, very powerful cast. So far I haven't seen one cringe worthy performance.  Raven.  Nola aka Norman Bates and Baby Jane Hudson's spawn.

Things I don't like. Paige Madison - I don't know if it's just my own perception but I find her bland compared to the other characters. Her acting is also very underwhelming. When Kim Hunter is against her, she just sinks hard. She just irks me and I don't find anything exciting about her. Basic.

Now I'm just at the point where Nola will come back in disguise. I am really giddy with excitement. Sunset Boulevard/Hitchcock level of psycho.

  2. I have been irked by this for a long time, but I decided I will get used to it. Haha. I have my own pet peeve - this one video of Alley Mills talking about her Emmy that keeps popping up as an ad every single day now for months. It's hilarious at this point. I think I've seen that video MILLION times and now I even dream of Alley Mills.

  3. I have chronic hereditary low blood pressure, just like my mother... and if I don't eat HEAVY salty foods... I can't function. I am lightheaded and I black out.

Today I started the day with a very tasty yogurt salad - very salty. Yummy.

  4. For everyone that still wants to have access to that page - there is a way. https://web.archive.org/ - you put in the address - http://edgehomepage.com/ and you can access an older version of the site, till it gets up again. It's the official internet archive.  The newer snapshots don't work, but the older ones do and I've been reading from the site using this tool. :)

I also want to thank the author of the site for his great work and I hope the site gets back up and running in no time!

I have been binging Edge all night... didn't even sleep much. Nola's reign of terror has began. Amazing episodes. I feel like a kid, who can't stop watching the TV again. I am now nearly 100 episodes IN in just a week - probably my personal record.

This show is one of a kind. ❤️

  5. Always Defend yourself people - nobody else will. You only have yourself - so never let yourself down. This is one of the most important mental health discoveries - DEFEND yourself and know your rights and ASK and Never let people humiliate you, bully you, belittle you, discriminate you.

This is my thought of the day. Sadly. I wanted to end it happy.

But as I think about this - this actually makes me happy. That I have strength to defend myself. I couldn't when I was little.  ❤️

1996-1998 there were five pregnancy leaves: Tracey Bregman and Hunter Tylo in Fall 1996, KKL in Spring 1997, Hunter Tylo and Kimberlin Brown in early 1998. Those impacted a good number of storylines I'd say.

Thank you always for giving this info. From you I have learned so many things.
