  1. It's become so obvious that the WH has much to hide. The way they are going about trying to silence people (in addition to the many lies they tell) is an entire whole disgrace!
  2. Although I can never call myself a fan of Carillo, she is absolutely right about OCC. There are more reasons to dislike it other than the ones she stated though. ESPN who pushed the concept, wanted to promote it as though it was somehow edifying for the TV audience watching at home. It doesn't add anything but annoyance to my viewing experience. I wanted to get rid of it from the first year and I haven't changed my views. I hate the fact that Steve Simon wants to dig in even more, hinting that he'd like to see coaching done from the stands, which I think will be even more of a mess! Can he just sort out the streaming mess for the WTA before women's tennis loses most of the loyal fanbase they have now? Just, sigh.
  3. Yeah, I agree but it hasn't been that long since Borna returned. I think that Mannarino is a bit more match tough and better conditioned right now. From what I managed to see of the match, Borna misplayed a few key points in that final set and that sealed his fate.
  4. Fun match to watch. Sasha truly stepped up to the moment.
  5. @Wales2004 I had never heard of the guy until I saw this Politifact tweet, so he's never been on my radar. I just think it's interesting that Politifact is disputing what many seem to think is an enduring argument for dampening any enthusiasm over the tanking of the AHCA (or whatever it was called). Politifact presents an argument that Obamacare being in a so called "death-spiral" is narrative that lacks validity. In any case, the death panel, er, death spiral argument looks like a scare tactic presented in order to get people to panic and favor tanking the entire law (people forget ACA is a law!), rather than tweaking and simply improving it.
  6. Also, I've been reading that there is a possibility of a the Republican candidates cancelling each other out. Politifact disputes the notion that the ACA, aka Obamacare is in a "death-spiral".
  7. Hmm, interesting article by Frank Rich. No Sympathy for the Hillbilly " Democrats need to stop trying to feel everyone’s pain, and hold on to their own anger."
  8. Chancellor Angela Merkel was said to have responded that she will treat the bill the same way Trump treats his contractors. If that's true, Touché for Mrs. Merkel, that's a brilliant response!
  9. When Ted Koppel sees someone like Sean Hannity on TV, he must get so disgusted.
  10. Also, Aretha Franklin's Birthday too. Talk about RESPECT. Talk about women who make their mark! Journalists who provide the receipts.
  11. Did you see that racquet smash by Thiem and warning from the chair just as the rains were coming? So much of tennis is about matchups. Sometimes one player matches up in line with another player's style of play.
  12. Meanwhile Trump plays golf for 4 and 1/2 hours at his club in Virginia after apparently telling the White House press pool that he had "work" to do. Also, the Secret Service asked for a raise (to their allotted budget) because they can't afford Trump and his family. Secret Service Can’t Afford The Trump Family’s Lifestyle
  13. Federer vs. Tiafoe went to a 1st set tiebreak, pretty competitive, albeit fast-paced set of tennis. Hopefully Tiafoe can raise his level in the 2nd. I'd love for him to at least steal a set.
  14. Meanwhile, a series of coalition-led airstrikes conducted in the Mosul area of Iraq this month, is said to have killed at least 200 civilians- the highest number of civilians killed in an American led airstrike since 2003. U.S. Investigating Mosul Strikes Said to Have Killed Up to 200 Civilians
  15. He's officially the human shield for Trump on these wiretap allegations so he'd better get used to being on the hot seat.
  16. And Nunes is backing down from his surveillance assertions. Does he realize that he is now making a strong case for an independent investigator to come in and pursue this case? Nunes Backs Down From Assertion Trump Was Monitored
  17. I was looking for this yesterday while Trump was lying about never stating he would repeal and replace Obamacare. We all know he lied but here's the tale of the tape anyway (as a gift for those trolls out there).
  18. Speaking of bad on court attitudes, I didn't see this match but I peeped into a stream at the beginning and saw Fognini strutting around in that petulant manner that he often does when things are not going his way and I just knew that at some point, some sh*t was going down.
  19. Didn't he say that he'd repeal and replace Obamacare on Day 1 on the campaign trail? So absurd that people believed that BS. Well, a former Russian MP was shot in the streets of Kiev so, they will resort to shooting, if they feel like it.
  20. Trump actually said Democrats let him down?! LOL, he's even more delusional than I gave him credit for! For years, Paul Ryan, aided and abetted by the GOP, was allowed to cultivate this image of himself as this brilliant wonk, may this spectcular failure unmask and demolish that myth, the way that the cruelties of his bill unmasked the lie he cultivated about being a good Christian, Catholic and compassionate man.
  21. What a failure in spectacular fashion! Trump as The Closer obviously doesn't apply to governing. What have been Trump's successes, other than taking credit for employment successes that Obama already put in place? The GOP as a whole doesn't know how to govern. Although I live in a heavily Democratic state, I hope many of these GOP Congressmen get voted out in 2018. Hopefully people will realize the power of phone calls, e-mails, petitions, protests and town halls. Democracy only truly works with active participation.
  22. Apparently, Muguruza told Sumyk to shut the Fu*ck up becuase Sumyk was heard saying "Don't tell me to shut the f up ever again." Muguruza was said to have apologized afterward.
