It is because Brooke is a compilation of DISGUSTING shocking scandals YEAR AFTER YEAR. COMPILATION. It is not one thing, or two things. It is... every year... at least in the past.

But that doesn't make me NOT love KKL. She will forever be my favorite actress AND WITHOUT the narcissistic and histrionic Brooke, Bold will not be Bold.

I myself think the most vile thing she ever did was JUST in the beginning, when she lied and manipulated Caroline who was just raped and vulnerable... hid the letter from Ridge and made her think Ridge doesn't want her anymore. She completely manipulated this relationship and in the end Caroline's life was in ruins.  This is the scene Caroline finally sees Brooke's real face.

    I think that's exaggerating a bit.   ^_^

As for the letter, I believe that Caroline found out about that and read the letter before she married Thorne, didn't she? So, even though what Brooke did was despicable, no argument there, Caroline had the facts and still went ahead and married Thorne.

Yeah she did drive Macy to kill herself. Watch the scenes. Macy decided to crash since Brooke told HER THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN do about it. And then she realized she had lost Thorne. I think she attempted to kill Brooke and kill herself in that moment. That is how I perceive it. What THEY REWROTE years later is ANOTHER THING. Macy died in 2000. The re-wrote was STUPID.

It may have been stupid, but the re-write still happened and is part of the show's history. I do agree with you that Macy probably was trying to kill both herself and Brooke, but that doesn't change the fact that they both survived and Macy died years later. If she did die.... we don't know that for sure since it happened off screen.

Brooke slept with her son in law, when she was married to Eric. She was then pregnant and didn't know if it was the father or the son. EW.

Brooke got pregnant by her son in law, her daughter's husband. I would say this breaks the disgusting meter.

Brooke slept with her sister's husband and got pregnant. Now this is some kind of Maury show or Oprah show level of perversion.

She has no comparison in the show and there is no" thing about people's views on sexuality" here.  Brooke is a sexual predator and she isn't prejudiced or discriminated against.

She drove Macy to kill herself, taking away her husband. This woman deserves criticism and anyone who thinks she does not is out of their mind.

Now... what these other people did is something different and I think yeah... they deserved MORE criticism and backlash, but Taylor killing someone or Stephanie faking a heart attack don't make sleeping with your daughter and sister's husbands any less DISGUSTING and shocking.

I'm not saying that Brooke hasn't done a lot of horrible things, but she's the only one who constantly gets dragged through the mud for these things. Some of which happened decades ago. And just to clarify things, she did not drive Macy to kill herself. They were in a car accident, provoked by Brooke's actions yes, but Macy didn't die.... Macy died years later off screen, after she had been hit by a chandelier. And what's also funny is how Brooke is the one who gets all the blame for the things you mentioned. I would think that the men ought to shoulder some of the blame.

And I stand by my opinion that people like Stephanie and Taylor get off way to easy. Especially Taylor. Brooke may have done some morally questionable things to say the least, but Taylor has repeatedly broken the law. She was driving drunk when she hit Darla with her car, she looked at Brooke's medical records without permission and revealed her pregnancy, and then she shot Bill.

    Because Stephanie wasn't a hypocrite.

Stephanie wouldn't have pulled out a Bible and started pretending that she was Shirley Temple. I mean, I love me some KKL, but Brooke is a SMH-piece-of-work WITHOUT a Bible. With a Bible, she's just another hilarious joke!

I hope to God the show was in on the joke, but I don't know that they were.

I'm not talking about the Bible scene. I'm talking in general. Brooke is constantly called names (HO-gan for instance) and her past is always dragged up, whereas other characters are allowed to move on from their past.

Brooke used to be outrageously slutty for sleeping her way through the family but now that they've done that with every character (Taylor, Steffy, Donna, Katie, Eric, Bill, Ridge, Thorne, etc have all done it) she really doesn't seem that bad anymore. At least she hasn't killed anyone and is generally a pleasant person. She isn't sanctimonious either (just briefly with Amber and that was twenty years ago).

She ended up being one of the more moral characters on the show TBH. Not what I would have thought during the 90s!

    Thank you!

I find it interesting how Brooke is so reviled while other characters, who have done far worse than she has, receive nowhere near the same level of criticism. What does that say about people's views on sexuality vs violence for instance? Stephanie used to bully, beat and belittle anyone who dared to oppose her, and she put her whole family through agony when she went as far as faking a heart-attack just to get her own way. And Taylor shot an unarmed man from behind in cold blood. That is way worse than anything Brooke has ever done.

If I were a betting person, I would bet that Bradley Bell already has Krista's replacement lined up.  It could be Hunter Tylo again, it could be his sister in a cheap wig from the Vivica A. Fox collection, it could be someone entirely different.  But - mark my words - she's waiting in the wings.

That would really be like playing with fire, and not only because of the way Krista's departure has been handled. To re-cast a role, especially a long-time role like Taylor, is always a gamble. They got lucky this time with Krista, who seems to have been accepted and well liked by most of the audience. To try it again, for really no apparent reason, could easily backfire on the show, and with the circumstances the way they are, I'd say the risk of that is big. Unless the possible replacement is Hunter Tylo, but that doesn't seem very likely.....

I know that at least one article said that they offered her recurring & she declined. (The same was said about or by Rena with the same result.) I did not read anything about "3 lines" etc. I wonder if recurring status means something different at B&B than it does at either DAYS or GH. Plenty of people work on a recurring basis & always have. There's no question, though, that going from contract to recurring is in fact a demotion.

I would say it probably does. On B&B it's usually the first step out the door and into oblivion.
