  1. Hey, Hooked and MsQ, it was great chatting with you last night. Sorry if I was a little distracted....

I finally got to watch the clip of Edward and Tracy at Jason's apartment this morning. Dayum, how does that woman do it? I feel I'm completely done with GH and everything, and then Jane Elliot shows up on the screen and sucks me back in for a moment. I truly believe that she genuinely cares about Lulu, and I get soooo ticked when people say the only reason she cares about Lulu is because she's afraid Luke will leave her. Tracy cares more about Lulu's welfare than Luke does, and not in that manipulative, using way she has with her own sons. It's like she's looking at a mirror to her own past, seeing herself at Lulu's age, and is desperately trying to stop the train wreck she sees coming with such bone-crushing clarity. And of course, Lulu is as snarky and ungrateful for her love and concern as Tracy would have been at that age, which only makes it worse. It's like Tracy's watching history repeat itself, only from a much saner vantage point, and she's completely helpless to stop it as it grinds on to its inevitable conclusion.

All that from Jane Elliot's facial expressions. No help from the script.

Damn, I hate when great actors are on crappy shows. I really do.

  2. BTW, WB, Lainey. Glad you had a great time in Hawaii. Sorry about the jet lag.

I'm struggling very hard to stay focused on TQ things--hard, with Dr. Who grabbing me by the throat and shaking me into submission. :D Actually, I'm looking for motivation/inspiration to get some more TQ fic done. The latest clips haven't really been inspiring, except that she looks beautiful in them. I'm thinking more investigation into the Alan thing might be the way to go. There's is my favorite relationship on the show at this point.

  3. I took Donna to see Fiddler on the Roof about 2 years ago when Andrea Martin was playing Golde, the mom. Donna LOVES Andrea Martin from her SCTV days. After the show - it was a weekday when the theater was mostly empty- Andrea is out in the lobby collecting money with a bucket for BC-EFA.. and my sweetie is all red-cheeked and freaked out, because she actually gets to talk with Andrea Martin while dropping some money in the bucket. It's one of my cutest memories of Dee.. she was so flustered... adorable! Thanks for helping me remember that.

That is so cute! I love Andrea Martin, too, in just about anything. (She was great in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.) And TracyLuv, thank you so much for thinking about me on Sunday. I didn't even think about my friends here in NYC actually being able to go to the Flea Market... It's definitely one of those things I'd love to do someday--the celebrity list made my eyes pop--Dana would just be the icing on the cake for me.

Hair was oomphy and she looked good today, even though the same outfit from the other day. Question though: How does Tracy know what Lulu's room looks like at the Spencer house? Has she been upstairs to the bedrooms there? Ha ha. You KNOW luke would never take her "upstairs" at Laura's shrine--LOL!!!

Oh, puh-lease! Of course Tracy has seen the upstairs at Laura's shrine. Are you kidding me? Does this really strike you as a woman who would let a little thing like breaking and entering stand in the way of getting every bit of dirt she could find on her biggest rival? No, Tracy could probably recreate the blueprints to Leslie's house from the easiest points of access (beside the doors, of course) to where they stash the emergency money (she lifted a fiver for a latte the last time she was there).

    Just my opinion.

  4. Oooh, that's EXACTLY the flea market I was talking about, Hooked. I'm sooooo jealous of the folks here who live in/near NYC. It's like my dream place, and I love to be there right freakin' now. :D

I hope your dog is okay--sick pets are just terrifying. I'm sure not as terrifying as sick kids, but still scary to me.

So Luke and Tracy are the Midlife It couple, huh? Man, I need to write some fic. I just need to. Come on, Brain, WORK ALREADY..... :(

  5. Hooked, cool about Mexico. The chick in black and white is Dana Ivey (I knew I had a picture of her at the NYC Black and White Ball somewhere on my old site.) It sounds like a very Windemere thing to do--hold a black and white ball.

As for fic, my brain is really trying--I read half a book on writing Saturday evening, and I'm really jonesing to write. Maybe I'll just pull out a notebook and scratch down whatever comes to my mind, plot be blasted.

Oh, btw, our supervisor is back, amidst many hugs and well wishes. She had 1842 emails in her in box. But she is smiling and happy to be back, and all is right with the world.

EDIT: Did any of you Noo Yawkers make it to the BC/EFA Flea Market yesterday? That is one of my goals in life--to make one of those some day. Dana Ivey was apparently at a table with Robin Strasser (Dorian) and the guy who plays Antonio on OLTL. Ilene Kristen (Roxy) and Bernadette Peters were scheduled right after her. Man. I wish I had been there.

  6. Hey, gang! Greetings from the TracyVoid! Long weekend here--went to an Anti-Protest Protest Saturday. Three members of Fred Phelps' nasty group, WBC (of G-DHatesFags fame) decided to show up at the funeral of a local soldier killed in Iraq. Well, there were three of them. There about 150 of us. Straight and gay, conservative and liberal, pro-war and anti-war, Christian and non-Christian--we all stood together and overwhelmed the family of the deceased with positive messages and thanks for their sacrifice. It was very cool. No violence, no nastiness (except for about four VERY offensive signs carried by the WBC crew), and lots of community and support. I also saw the Dr. Who episode where Sarah Jane Smith returns, and I have created a monster. Fey is madly in love with both Sarah Jane and Rose, so I think we can expect a lot of Dr. Who in my future. (Squee. I'm an old-guard fan -- Sarah Jane was one of my early crushes, back in the day.)

Back on topic--no fears about the Skye rumors. Everybody knows Luke has special Estrogen-Sniffing-Damsel-in-Distress Sensors. Skye won't need to call him. All she has to do is go out in a stiff wind and be Womanly and Terrified, and Luke's Supersenses will pick it up in no time.

Tracy, on the other hand, doesn't do Damsel in Distress, so she has no way of contacting her husband. Of course, once he gets back to Port Chuck, heh heh. She knows exactly how to get his attention.

Loved the black and white pictures, Ms. Q. Maybe they'll do something like the Black and White Ball. I can't see them going "formal" for a funeral...no, this is going to be some fund raiser thing, I bet.

  7. OT: Ten members of the Jim Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church (of G-D Hates Fags fame) will be protesting the funeral of a 19-year-old local soldier who died in Iraq. The funeral is in my town, tomorrow afternoon. I think....maybe....Fey and I will be there to stand up for Love and Peace and against Hate and Ignorance. I'm feeling very hippy right now. Besides, it's right by the Chinese restaurant--good chance to combine social activism with veggie lo mein!

On-Topic: Thanks Carrie for the bunny on the TQ story. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do. Can't wait to see the scenes when I get home.

  8. downloading clips as we speak.

One more day without our supervisor--she comes back on Monday. We've been planning her welcome home for a week--I think our sub is kinda figuring out we're ready to be done. I came up with this idea to print out little half-page "Welcome Home" signs that people could personalize, and plaster them all over our supervisor's desk. And it's sort of taken off--the department manager, other supervisors, the head of the facility, and people from at least five teams have all filled out welcome backs. This woman has been with the company for seventeen years and is pretty much beloved by all. We are very lucky to have her, and very happy to have her back.

Oh, wanna laugh, Lainey? Check out the post on my LJ about "Today's Horoscope" and how I accidentally outed myself at work. Some days, it just pays to not talk a whole bunch.

And to keep this on topic--I finished my Supernanny/Desperate Housewives crossover, and my next story is going to be Tracy. I just need an idea. The prompt is "choke." Any suggestions?

  9. Hey, gang! I finally watched last week's scenes this morning before work. She did look gorgeous--but I'm really sick of Tracy being shoved together with Scott like some kind of half-warmed triangle for geriatrics. I know that TIIC can't do anything but stupid triangle stories, but if her working with Scott to try to protect Lulu results in LuNacy friction, I will be very annoyed.

Oh, and Edward? Dude, you suck. Big time.

  10. Lainey, dahlin, if they put Diane and her tie in a serious lip-lock with Tracy, I will definitely take note. But I have too hard a time stomaching the mob crap to have seen much of Diane...sorry.

As far as Luke being pissed that Tracy is teaming up with Scotty, I'd love to say that, wow, it's to protect Lulu, she's only doing it for the greater good, blah blah blah. But this is Luke. I'm absolutely sure that, no matter how valid her reasons, he's going to see it as a betrayal. F-idiot.

Haven't seen the clip yet, but I will definitely check in after with my feedback on the important things--Hair Oomphiness, Wardrobe, and responses to Alice's Single White Female act.

ETA: SKUH-WEE! Just saw the clips from yesterday. Yum and OH! She looked totally beyond gorgeous (I love happy!victorious!Tracy. Soooo shiny!), and I floved the outfit. Couldn't care less about the Lulu/Logan propping--who cares? She looked FABOO, she was high on victory, and she's BAAAACK. *small tear of joy* Thanks so much, MsQ and Nex for posting the clips. Did I mention she looked SHINY? Like, mmmmmm, SHINY......

  11. Hmmm...ugly outfit? That red thing with the big belt right under her breast bone would be my guess. Great color--bad cut.

I didn't know that about the cholla bread, Hooked. Fey and I used to live on the stuff at Chompie's in Phoenix (great Jewish deli/restaurant). But I didn't know it had religious significance. (Gotta love any religion that includes food in its worship. I'm all about that. Unitarian Potluck in the Break Room for Fall Equinox! :D)

And what is this story you and Staci are talking about? *pout* I totally want a preview. I may not be online, but I find time to read...*sniff*

Oh, okay. I'll just wait for the copy to come out for EVERYBODY...like I'm not SPECIAL enough to rate a sneak preview.

Anybody feeling guilty yet? No? Didn't think so. Okay, well, ya'll have a great afternoon. Think lovely Tracy thoughts. TA!

  12. Happy Rosh Hashanah (EDIT to spell correctly) to our Jewish friends. Hopefully Tracy will celebrate by being on today. Hooked, I'm glad to hear you're working on a fic. I have been completely non-productive, creatively. Thank goodness you guys are on the ball.

  13. Hey, gang! Just wanted to check in and say sorry I've not been around much. My time is crazy these days--much much stress at work, and Fey has not been feeling well. My muse has taken to her bed with a sick headache and a box of bon-bons, and refuses to speak to me until sanity returns at least partially to my life. I have a couple of stories rattling in my head, but no real energy to pursue them at 6:30 in the morning (which is when I get the bulk of my computer time).

I'm reading a lot right now--it's easy, and doesn't require a computer. Ruth Gordon's autobiography (An Open Book--FABULOUS) is on the list, along with several articles about theosophy and history. I do read the Lovefest all the time, and the chat transcripts are safely tucked into a folder on my computer, to be read when I have a few dozen hours to spare. (Hell, I haven't even done anything on the DI site all week, except watch one scene from a movie I didn't really like. I could do screen caps in about three minutes, but I just can't force myself to do it.)

I'm still here, and I'm still part of things--I'm just not as noisy as usual. So don't worry, okay?

ETA: Happy birthday, Colette! Did you know you share a birthday with Mira Furlan (Lost, Babylon 5)? Kewl. :)
