  1. Love Tracy and Luke. Too bad they couldn't move to Llandview. Tracy could be a friend of Dorian's and they could move into the mansion. Can you imagine? Todd and Luke? Luke and David Vickers? woot!! Yeah, that she's going with Luke,...aw, the only good thing to happen on GH all week!!

Oh, I'd love it. OLTL is SO much better to their vets than GH is, and the pairing of Dorian and Tracy in any way would be something to see. And if Luke beat the heck out of Todd, well, that would just be an awesome bonus, wouldn't it?

Oh, and Nora, Alexis, Kate, and Dianne having a girls' night out?

Can't we just take the vets from both shows and create a good soap?

  2. Quick hello--now that we have Soapnet again, I'm watching the show again. Hated last night's LuNacy scenes, though. Sorry--I'm so sick of Tracy being either wallpaper or comic relief, but lord help us--wallpaper for comic relief?

Hopefully something better will come along. In the meantime, I'm actually enjoying several of the other SLs.

    Go figure.

  3. Thanks for the clips, Nex! Fey has been watching and told me about yesterday's show (we have a sitch with the cable/vcr that precludes taping the show.) We are going to start having her mom tape the Soapnet marathons on Sunday, but I appreciate the clips in the interim. Can't wait to see them.

  4. Hey, gang! Just stopping by to let you know I'm still alive. I've been out of GH for several months now (although I still like getting the clips when they're good, thank you HOOKED).

Hope everyone is doing okay. Stop by my LJ and say hello once in a while.

  5. Hey, crew! Just popping in to say hello. Hooked has been keeping me up to date on the clips (hi-5 to Hooked) and the latest gossip. I no longer have Soapnet, so I'm really dependent on clips to see the show (as we haven't taped GH for over a year now). My comments:

    1. I have to say, the more I see it, the less I like the new hair. It was funky at first, now it just looks...not good. Maybe it's the color, or maybe it's just I hate it in her eyes. My bad for not predicting that at first glance.

    2. Love the aspect of Luke trying to win Tracy back--it's about time the shoe was on the other foot. They had some good scenes together, although the product placement issues must be eating TG and JE alive (I can only imagine TG's reaction when he saw the script and read the lines about the soup.) GH has always been bad about self-promotion (ABC/Disney), but now it seems they're taking the promotion of their sponsors a little far. It's kind of sad.

    3. I'm glad they have storylines, but I wish the overall show was better. Everytime I watch anything not Luke/Tracy related on GH, I remember why I don't watch soaps. The acting is mediocre, the writing is bad, and the mysogeny and violence are off the scale. If I wanted a mob show, I'd watch The Sopranos. If I wanted violence and anti-women attitudes, I'd go elsewhere to get at least a bit of artistry with my psychological masochism. As it is, I watch for Luke and Tracy, and I can take or leave Luke.

    4. I miss all you guys. I'm sorry that my involvement with this group seems to be so tied to a crappy soap opera, because you guys are all pretty dang cool. My email is always open, and I still would like to hear from you all. And I'm not giving up on my 100 Situations--eventually, I will finish it, okay?

Now I have to go. My lunch break is over. Ta!

  6. Owwie, owwie, owwie! Guess who slipped on the ice and bruised her Everything! :( Lainey, I think the scab writers might have dared a Dianne/Alexis pairing, but I doubt Guza has the fortitude (or imagination) to do such a thing. Pity, because it would be almost enough to get me watching the show full-time.

Downloaded the clips (thank you Hooked and Nex) and will watch when I have more time.

Thinking of you guys from the land of moderately freakin' cold (yeah, I know, it's not Minnesota, but it's too damned cold for my weenie butt.)

  7. Hey, chicas--I did see the HS scenes. The kiss was very hot, but I was even happier that Tracy didn't fall for it. It's far past the time where Luke has to WORK for Tracy's love. He's spent years taking her for granted. Robert warned him this time would come, and now he has to s@@t or get off the pot.

Before you think I've gone off the bend, Lainey, I want him to win, I want him to woo her back, I want them back together and stronger than ever. But I don't want it to be easy for him. I want her to make him work, and I want him to realize that she's WORTH working for. Luke pays lip-service to love, but he hasn't worked for it in along time.

Tracy is the best thing that ever happened to him, and if he has a brain in his damned head, he will fight for her.

Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

  8. Hey gang! Just popping in to say hello.

MsQ, I loved the updates on Oh, Baby. Yeah, I'd forgotten where we were, but I got back into it very quickly. Well-written; I'm loving it.

Clips; Thanks to the emailing efforts of Hooked, I am caught up on the LuNacy clips. I really enjoyed yesterday's scenes, although I wish Alice would get a grip. Is she Sympathetic Comrade in Arms, or is she The Enforcer? Because if Tracy goes, Luke goes, so it would be in her best interest to be nicer to Tracy. As for Luke, it's about DAYUM time he had to grovel after Tracy. You GO girl. Hold out. Don't give in. Make him WORK for that reconcilliation, the dawg.

Fanfic: There's been a lot of fanfic posted to the Ficathon. I'll be honest--I haven't read almost any of it. I've been really off GH lately, and have had precious little time to myself. I will try to R/R as much of it as soon as I can, and sorry to all of you for being so far behind.

RL: Real-Life is pretty wild right now--work is outta control and we had a lot of set-backs hit us all at once. But I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, so keep your fingers crossed.

I'll try to pop in more often, just so you guys don't forget me, okay? Kay.

  9. A belated Happy Christmas to them that celebrates (as well as Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, and Insert-Your-Generic-Winter-Holiday-Here). I managed to miss all but the beginning of the Christmas Eve episode (right after she evicted Skye and Alan showed up). Would somebody be willing to email me a link for clips? I'd really appreciate it.

    *Hugs to you all*

  10. Hola, todos. I'm back from vacation. Ate lots of shee-shee food (so ready from something that doesn't come drizzled with white truffle oil!) and stayed in a couple of nice hotels. Watched movies (Ratatouille, HP and the Order of the Phoenix, and The Golden Compass). Spent lots of money (three Doctor Who vids - YAY!) and Fey got a couple of video games for the Playstation. Swam. Had a glass of wine. Ate freaking pineapple-jalapeno sorbet (and loved it).

Saw a bit of GH in the hotel, but would be VERY grateful if someone can send me links for the last two weeks of clips (the last clips I have are from 11/28). Oooh, I learned how to burn DVDs on my computer so I can watch them on TV. I think I'll make a Music Video CD for fun!

  11. Hey, gang. Long time no see. It's been crazy around here--Fey and I have been to urgent care twice and the ER twice in the last two and a half weeks for her back. Of course, this all happens RIGHT before the trip to Disney World we've been scrimping for all year. So, last night, we made a command decision to postpone our vacation until next September in order for Fey to get better. (We can't see her GP until Jan. 3, since, well, he's an idiot.) If she's not better by then, we will go ahead and ask him to order an MRI to see if it's nerve damage.

In the meantime, work has kicked the Big Brother thing up a notch, and blocked all email sites (yahoo mail, comcast, etc.), so I'm completely cut off at work except for breaks.

It's been such fun. At least I have a week off next week. We're going to spend almost the whole time in Louisville, pretending we have money.

Loving the drabblethon. I knew you guys could write, and more than just a story once every two months or so. Hahahahahahaaaa! My ebil plan is working!

  12. What's JE wearing?!?! A freakin' cotton sweatsuit jacket with a white t-shirt underneath (Oh, don't get me started on what THIS MEANS.. I'll rant for days!!) .

Congratulations on your 400th post, Lainey! You rock. And yeah, I caught that too. At least, I think I know what you're saying, and duh.

By the way, it looks like the "Drabble MsQ Until Her Birthday Rawks Like the Casbah on NYE" Drabblethon is really doing well. Take a look at what your fellow Lovefesters have been up to this weekend...http://community.livejournal.com/tq_ficathon/97669.html

  13. Hildegard of Bingon (Prioress, Poet, Medieval Saint) was quoted as saying she had her most divine moment of inspiration while "relieving" herself.

I seem to have moments of inspiration in my morning shower. So, without further ado.... my second fic...

    When the Bough Breaks...

    http://ivy-kendall.livejournal.com/

I frackin' LOVE Hildegard von Bingon!

BTW, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned here, but Monday is Ms. Quartermaine's birthday. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would never have lasted so long in TQ fandom without the fantastic Ms. Quartermaine. She is fantastic, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate her birthday.

So, I have started a Tracy Quartermaine drabblethon on the Ficathon in her honor. A drabble is a short 100-word story--it doesn't need a beginning, middle, end, or (in my case) a point. A drabblethon is a tag-team event--I write a drabble and provide prompts for the next writers. Somebody picks one of the prompts (or writes a drabble of their own), and comments with a drabble and new propmts. We keep it going as long as possible, and get all these little bite-size ficlets to enjoy in the process.

So, please, even if you don't think you're a writer, come by and give it a try. You can add as many drabbles as you like, and we should have fun in the process.

  14. Anyone look at SID (mag or online, I'm not sure). Apparently there is a current picture of JE, TG, NLG, MB and the one who plays Kate. They are walking in the picket lines for the strike during their lunch breaks. I can't seem to get it. Anyone?

My bleeding socialist heart just fracking adores this.

BTW, teeny new fic from me at the Ficathon: Prompt #59 (Eat) - Hospital Food. URL: http://community.livejournal.com/100_situations/709960.html

  15. My reaction to the clips for the last three days:

    1. WTF is this about Emily getting a 22-hour funeral while Alan got 10 minutes and a kiss goodbye?

    2. Mama looked so damned good in that coat, and I did not have a problem with the inclusion of the hip shades.

    3. Who did poor JMB piss off in hair and wardrobe? Seriously, I mean, so fracking seriously? Did she sleep with some hairsylist's boyfriend, because whoa....?

    4. I'm with Lainey. Move on with it. Have the damned surgery so we can get back to the LuNacy lurving.

    5. I'm not tired of the "don't make me a widow" comments. As long as Luke makes her say that sort of thing, I'm okay with her saying it. Especially the way she did at the end of the funeral episode ("Don't you dare be the reason I have to endure another day like today." So good. Not maudlin. Don't make me a widow because, frankly, funerals are a pain in the ass and I would shoot you if I had to suffer through another 17 hour eulogy by Elizabeth.....)

Mainly, ff'd through everything that didn't have Tracy's face on the screen. Smiled and sighed every time Tracy's face was on the scene.

    Bidness as usual.

  16. Looks like a party in the Lovefest. Can't stay on long, or I'd be in the breakroom. Fey's back is really bad, and the ER doctor has her on bedrest. She's getting better a little bit everyday, but I'm pretty ragged now. Vacay in two weeks, thank gawd, but then we have to drive all the way to Orlando and back.

    Sigh.

I will watch the last two clip edits soon, and give my comments when I have them.

    Miss you all.

  17. Hey, strangers. I finally saw Tuesday and Wednesday's episodes, and I have to agree with Remos, rather than MsQ and ILTQ on this one. I thought the LuNacy scenes were flawless, beautifully acted, exquisite. My only complaint is that they kept being interrupted (even momentarily) by other characters. As many issues as I have with TIIC, they have quietly given Tracy and Luke the most realistic, grown-up love affair on the show. Ya'll know I hate soap operas, and won't even pretend that I watch this show for anything other than LuNacy. (Okay, Tracy without Luke if she has a good storyline.) Even when they're over the top, they're entertaining.

But this storyline, this beautiful, real, poignant storyline--this is what I've been waiting for since the day I started watching. Two larger than life people dealing with a very mundane, very unavoidable, real life drama. Money can't buy their way out of this. Heroics of the Ice Princess variety are useless here. This is real life, and Luke and Tracy are facing it together, alone as a couple, as we so often do in our lives. When I was in the ER with Fey the other night, her family wasn't there. Our friends weren't there. It was Fey and me, alone in that room. That's what marriage is (whether you're straight or gay), and Tracy is no less of a Quartermaine for staying with her husband than she would have been had she gone to the house.

I have issues with Ned and Dillon not at least visiting their mother in the hospital, but that could easily be fanficced away--we didn't see everything, and it's quite possible the boys went their first (in the "real life" section of GH that doesn't get shown).

I loved their moment in the montage. I don't think I've ever seen Tracy more beautiful, more honest, more real. It was a great couple of episodes, and I'm glad I've finally gotten to see them.
