  1. This show is so inconsistent and feels directionless.  Monday's show was overall great, yesterday's was awful. Jada was the only thing I liked. She made a strong first impression.

I liked Xander and Sarah once upon time, but what was the point of having another Xander wedding get interrupted? Especially this one had no guests and we only saw maybe 30 seconds of it.

There is so much dead weight on this show. Clyde, Leo, Gwen, Stacy's version of Kristen/Susan are just a few that need to go.

One thing at least, Sonny will be used more effectively.

I just wonder if Alex’s homophobia is going to play into it at all, or if he’s totally gotten past it

I assume he's gotten past it, I doubt Sonny would have gone into business with Alex and moved his family to Arizona if his brother still had issues. I do hope they bring it up though and not try to pretend Alex was accepting from day 1.

  3. I've wanted them to cast Alex Kiriakis for years. There's a ton of stories you can tell by bringing him to town. So because of that, I'm going to try to keep an open mind, but my main concern is I don't think RSW is talented enough of an actor to pull off playing a new character, especially with this quick of a turn around.

If he's sharing a lot of scenes with Zach, Wally, Judi and John Aniston, they are all really good actors. I just hope some of their talent rubs off.

  4. The Sonny and Will scenes today were great and lovely.  It's such a shame that we finally have a version of WilSon that I love with two actors that have amazing chemistry and it's when Chandler can't come back full time. Which is DAYS own fault for letting him go too many times. I don't blame Chandler for seeking a good paying job elsewhere.

Thankfully Zach seems to have chemistry with everyone, so it shouldn't be too hard to find him a new love interest, whether it be Chad, Paul or someone else.

  5. Lola leaving doesn't bother me, I do think killing her off is a bad and stupid idea. It's obvious Ben and Callum will end up getting Lexi to raise eventually. While I love Callum, I don't even want him back with Ben, let alone with Ben and stuck raising that spoiled brat Lexi. I would have had Lola and Lexi leave for a new life elsewhere and Ben not being part of Lexi's life can be "punishment" for all the sins he got away with, instead he's probably going to get rewarded.  Doesn't sit well with me.

  6. I do think the cast is bloated and they should probably even cut another 5 more, but you are right, this isn't going to fix the core issue that most of the stories just aren't any good. This just isn't a well written show that's worth watching most days.

Of the ones leaving, the only one I'm upset about is Stuart. I do like him and Callum, I'd rather see their nan Vi leave. She serves no purpose.

What also sucks is this leaves the Beales, an original family down to just Kathy and Bobby, that's inexcusable. This Peter needed to go, but how they managed to piss Adam Woodyatt off so much that he doesn't seem to want to come back is beyond me.

  7. While I could have did without Sonny dreaming about Will and Leo, it was nice to get a romantic episode for Sonny and Will. They were do for one. That's one thing I think DAYS does a good job with overall is giving couples romantic scenes and episodes for the fans.  This stint for Will felt shorter than the last one. Considering what's going to happen rest of this week and next, I would have thought they would have kept him around a bit longer, but I assume it didn't work with Chandler's schedule.

  8. This whole Sonny and Leo story is an example of something where I think the idea was great, but the execution of it poor.

I could totally get into Sonny coming back to town and seeking revenge on Leo for what he did years ago. I was fine with the idea of Sonny being obsessed about it to the point it might start harming his marriage, but one the first major mistakes was when it came down to blowing apart Leo and Craig, they had Sonny go MIA and it was Chad that showed up at the wedding. Should have been Sonny.

Then the current phase, Leo making an enemies list and seeing counter revenge, once again, sounds like a good idea that I'd be interested in seeing, but his revenge against Sonny was both problematic and stupid.

First, while I'm fairly certain no sex actually took place, drugging someone, stripping them naked, then sending pictures to a gossip site, is both assault and revenge porn. Unless you are going to treat it as such and write it in a serious way, those kinds of plots need to be left in the past. They aren't acceptable in 2022.

It's also dumb. What's Leo's aim? Sonny already figured out he was drugged, which I'm sure he'll tell Will, so Will is likely to only believe Leo's story in the Intruder for maybe all of 5 minutes. There's a million other better or interesting things they could have had Leo to do Sonny.

  9. Only DAYS would have a character pass out due to poisoning on a Tuesday, then not follow up on it until Friday. Who's idea was it to have Sonny passed out on the floor for 3 days?

They need to change the pacing so that 1 day in Salem isn't stretched out over a week. It should be 1 -2 episodes max unless it's a big event like a wedding.

  10. I used to be a "Ballum" fan and Callum is still one of my favorites, but they've totally destroyed Ben as a character. At this point, I think I've moved past hate to pure apathy towards him. This rape story reeks of desperation to force the viewers to having sympathy for Ben. It's not going to work.

I don't know if I'd recast, but Max Bowden's acting has gone down hill a lot. I haven't impressed with his acting in at least 18 months and he's delivered some very cringeworthy performances. Some of that I think is down to him hating the writing for Ben as much as we do.  Ben does need a long break off screen. Like  6 months to a year at least.

Overall, I'm not finding the show that great. It's mildly improved compared to when Sen was in charge, but there really isn't any story that interests me. I'm curious what Chris Clenshaw is going to do. His material hasn't started yet and still no interviews or anything to signal what his vision or plans for the show might be.

  11. Zach Tinker was the SOD podcast episode that came out today. He said DAYS originally signed him to a 3 month contract, then they extended it. It is possible they have upped his guarantee after that 3 months.

Also I remember when Zach was promoting Beyond Salem, he mentioned having a few upcoming projects in the works, that didn't sound DAYS related. Just taking a guess, but if he already had some prior commitments when asked to the mothership, that could explain why his airtime is sporadic.

  12. I wonder if Zach Tinker wasn't available to film and that's why we got the quick throw away line from Chad that Sonny got a work call. It makes NO sense Sonny wouldn't have been there.

The best part of the episode was when Leo says looks at all these angry judgmental faces and the camera immediately cuts to Missy Reeves. I almost died of laughter.  🤣

  13. I suspected some sort of Peacock special was on its way due to the most recent casting calls. Very happy to see we are getting more Beyond Salem.

The inevitability that Bo and Hope are probably going to share most of their screen time with Ben and Ciara kills that excitement of their return.

I assume that more cast will be announced later. Will and Sonny were one the most popular parts of the last one. You would think they'd try to have them involved in some way again.

  14. I'm glad Chad called out Sonny on how over obsessive he's being and he should focus more on Will. I get all things Leo did to Sonny, but I'm assuming there's something else behind this new found obsessive behavior.

This was the second time now that Sonny was grossed out by Chad and Abby kissing. Then that joke from Abby about "Don't have a three-way." More and more I'm convinced they are going to hook up Sonny and Chad down the road.

I know this is never going to happen for real, but oh do I love me some Leo and Xander!

  15. On this day aired the last scenes Kyle Lewis and Oliver Fish aka Kish. They are still my favorite gay soap couple. Even now I'm angry their story got cut short and got blamed for the ratings troubles, but they did at least get a happy ending.

Chances are, there'll be some silly mixup at the double wedding, with Gwen accidentally married to Leo, and Xander accidentally married to Craig.

If they do that nonsense, then I hope it's Leo and Xander that end up accidentally married. They actually some sexual chemistry.

  17. I wonder if Victor's offer is Sonny running Titan again? I've always liked the idea of the show exploring Sonny ruthless businessman side, the problem as always been it's execution. Freddie was terrible in the business stories. Hopefully Zach Tinker is better.

Hopefully we get some follow-up to why Sonny is so obsessed with taking down Leo and his reaction to the plan blowing up.  Very strange to have virtually no follow up on that for 2 weeks.
