  1. The Pete exit was shockingly rushed. There was no reason for all that to take place in one episode. I wonder if Anthony Quinlan wasn't going to be available. They have rushed a lot of stuff lately. I think it's because Kate Oates wants some of her work wrapped up. If so it's selfish IMO. The idea of Pete lashing out because of mental trauma and such makes sense but not wrapped up in one episode. And I feel like it was, like the Robert NYE stuff, also the show's way to remind us that Ross is "better" than they are, after the show had him go so far off the rails last year. It's all just clumsy. It's too bad, because the scene where Cain threatened Pete was very good - a lot like the old Cain. I wish Moira would tell all those men to stop blaming her for their issues. James continues to be useless as a father... Lisa was raped, so I could see that also being why she was upset with that man. I wish they'd mentioned that. Elliot seems like a nice kid. It's good to have more non-bratty kids on the show.
  2. Huckster supreme Kim Davis and her handlers con another dumbass. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/jim-jordan-kim-davis-sotu
  3. Beyond the offcamera rumors and issues, they have just been pushed too often as stars. Not so much in recent years (aside from Fiz), but Michelle was pushed as the female lead for several years (2006-2008 in particular) and was one of the worst in the show's history. She and Liz are also redundant and unpleasant together. They've seriously toned her down and I don't mind her as much now, but there's no reason why she should still be seen as a star of the show. As for Sean, he's just a pointless, unpleasant character, and Cotton is a lousy actor. There are also rumors he is the reason the lovely and talented Charlie Condou (Marcus) quit the show, which was a big loss.
  4. Ha ha. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/01/paul-fiorina-excluded-from-main-stage-in-thursdays-gop-debate-217594
  5. I'm sure she'll be amazing. Sounds like a meaty role too.
  6. Ridiculous. The only good to come of it is if this leads to Mo leaving the show for good.
  7. Ew. That sounds horrid lol It is, given that they've supposedly bullied several actors off the show.
  8. There were a lot of small moments in this episode that I liked, and which I didn't expect to see. - Billy being uneasy about just treating Charlie as a body, and remembering their past - Patrick learning about Charlie's death - the Shabnam and Carmel conversation, where she cottoned onto just how disgusting this deception has been, and booted her out rather than continue to have sweet poison dripped in her ear I also thought Carli Norris (looking oddly like Emma Willis) did a terrific job with the final line. Great way to close an episode. And Rakhee was great in the aftermath scenes with Kush and Carmel - she played it all just right. As for the rest... I'm not going to say that Lacey Turner did a bad job - she was very good. James Bye was also very good in those last scenes in the bedroom when he said he'd protect Arthur. I was touched by that. And I thought they made it believable as to why he couldn't get Stacey help - she is struggling and could slip at any moment. However, I just didn't care about seeing this take up so much airtime. It never goes anywhere, as Stacey's stories never go anywhere in recent years. It's just a "moment" to get people talking, and I don't think it warranted endless repetitive scenes where Stacey had to talk about God, the devil, demons, Heaven. I'm not sure how something so dramatic could be so boring, but somehow, it was. Meanwhile, what could have had dramatic power - Shabnam learning the truth, and Kat and the rest of the family holding watch over Charlie's body and trying to tell the kids the news, felt rushed. Then there's Phil and Shirley, which was the same scene they always have. Shirley "gets" Phil, and Sharon doesn't. Shirley is a wise sage. That's great for her. The problem is the only reason her family is so supportive and understanding of her hate campaign against a rape victim to a point where they immediately forgive her (and her son - the only one she really cares about in the family anyway - had already forgiven her when she still thought his wife was a liar and her rapist son was a victim) is because they are mugs. Then again, Sharon is also a huge mug, so I guess it's good advice after all, eh?
  9. He's hooked up with a variety of female co-stars. I guess it could all be fake but I doubt anyone would bother.
  10. Roark Crichtlow (ex-Mike Horton, DAYS) was in the new Ali Sweeny Peach Cobbler mystery thing last night.
  11. I'll have to watch that. Apparently Stephanie Davis is making herself look foolish on CBB (shocker) and James Sutton was again making bitchy remarks about her on Twitter. It always makes me laugh that while he is straight, he's a whole lot queenier than JP has ever been.
  12. Likely because of that supposed clique she, Kym Marsh, and Antony Cotton are in.
  13. Bev Callard writes a year-end obituary for Anne Kirkbride. http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/dec/27/anne-kirkbride-coranation-street-deirdre-obituary-beverley-callard
  14. Didn't they say Tad would cry himself to sleep at night because Jenny wasn't there? Is that James Fitzpatrick (Pierce #1) in this Sunkist ad?
  15. It must be quite a comedown likely being a flunky at Y&R.
  16. I always thought Mal Young was a woman... I hope he has better luck than Daran Little did! So have any of you watched Jordan's new show Dickensian?
  17. Some think she will make him look psycho when she's the psycho one (like the Sally Spode story). Here's a Corrie episode with him. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3h8jxe
  18. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/news/a779427/coronation-street-actor-jonathan-wrather-joins-emmerdale-as-pierce-harris/ Enjoyed him on Corrie (I thought he was super hot on there). This story sucks but we'll see.
  19. I hope they won't just have him being a flunky in this dull Vincent/Mitchells story, or have him fight over Abi or Louise. I mostly want to see him with Denise. He was pretty decent on Doctor Who. Ex-Alan talks about Sian Blake's murder. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/sian-blakes-eastenders-lover-howard-7149581
  20. No offense to Scott Holmes and maybe it was how androgynous they'd made Ellen Dolan but there is no way that John and Lucinda should've had so much more sexual chemistry than Tom and Margo and by the time they got to Dolan and Holmes that's exactly what happened. Lucinda and John were both pretty sexy though. I feel like Gregg was sexy but I've just never seen HBS that way. The only Tom and Margo I saw real sexual chemistry with was Deas and Colin. HBS and Marx were good together, and I thought Dolan and Holmes were fine together until they ruined Margo around the time of the plane crash story, but I never saw them as hot sexy couples. To me they weren't really meant to be that way.
  21. It was Blackburn who split them up, and Oates who is sort of pushing them back together, so I'm hoping it may have just been a thing with her.
  22. I agree. I think they will have her scheme to get him but I'm not sure he will respond. It's such a waste of Charity. I hope the new producer will end this quickly.
  23. Sadly I think this with Pete and Moira is just being done to push Cain/Charity and to remind us Pete is not morally superior to Ross (I get the feeling the show has some regrets over the writing for him in recent months and are doing damage control by taking it out on other male characters in his age range). If they actually bothered to write for a long-term story with Pete and Moira, it would work. Long-term stories and Emmerdale are not friends these days.
