What a legend she was. Yet always so down to earth, so warm, on Corrie. She could do so much with raising an eyebrow or harrumphing at somebody. You'd think she had been there from the first day. It's never easy to just bring in someone's sister, I'd actually say it usually fails, but Betty just fit in. I loved the old lineup with Annie, Bet, and, as Annie called her, "Elizabeth." Driver also brought a great deal of tenderness to many of her scenes. One of the best was when Jerry Booth died and Len Fairclough, strong man that he was, was stewing, mourning, unable to deal with it. Betty just told him this would pass. She'd lost her own husband the year before, and she communicated that loss without a single word of dialogue. Len understood, and he left, feeling a little more at peace.- Any Capitol Fans Here?
I love that photo. Julie seems a little sedate though...- Y&R: Old Articles

Or like when the flirted to make Traci jealous. I don't know if Ashley would do that, given Traci's history. I also wonder about the show bringing back Tim as the man who would draw her away when Brad was dealing with Lisa. I wonder if a new character - like Steve, later on - would have been best, since she had lost Tim's baby and attempted suicide over him. I remember some scenes from around that time where Ashley took Victoria to the doctor to learn about safe sex and birth control. Good luck getting that on TV today.- Y&R: Old Articles

yr9190 I checked and I have all the 1991 synopses you're looking for. I will try to find them and get them up by tonight or tomorrow. I really wanted to say thanks for all the talk here and the videos you upload. It may be fun at times to bitch about Y&R but it's also nice to remember what the show used to be and still should be.- Y&R: Old Articles
They seemed to be hinting at a move into a job with Nikki - she manages Danny's charity concert and seems to do OK (there's no real mention after that). Too bad it was dropped, since her only story in 1989 seems to be the relationship with Jim Grainger. It's so ghoulish reading about how Jill and Katharine wanted Nina to lose her baby. Another example of Kay not being the saint she is now made out to be. I always thought Leanna had killed Steven. I guess Bill Bell loved the character so he took her out of that story. Did she have any reaction to Steven's death?- Y&R: Old Articles
I can't imagine Nina and Esther bar hopping! They played up this Esther/Nina relationship for a while, as later Nina convinced Esther to become her maid, without the uniform (how LML!). It's too bad the show dropped this. For a long time I thought that Steven was killed with a poisoned lei. Now I realize that was used to poison Ashley.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread

I was surprised to read about the Lauren/Victor scenes, and then the stuff with JoAnna and Marc. I didn't know he was brought back for a story with her. I wasn't even sure she had any stories aside from the first one, with Neil. I didn't know about Douglas/Leanne either. That sounds like fun, although Douglas knows it's a delusion. It seems like they just put Leanna in to do all kinds of crazy things that the established characters couldn't do.- Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
Thanks. Too bad they had to write her out. I liked the actress on Another Life, whiny voice aside (and she would have fit right in with Suzi on that front).- Y&R: Old Articles
Thanks for typing what I haven't put up. Sorry for not having more - I hope what I do have at least fills in the blanks a little. It seems a little tacky to me that they had Victor randomly bed Cassandra in the middle of that storyline, although at least there was some reason, rather than just "What a stud."- Y&R: Old Articles
