  1. This is the laughalympic moment when crazy Ursula injures Christine, which I think of as retribution for her insulting photo shoot for the homeless.
  2. This starts the story of Leo's claims and Viki becoming closer to Christine (before she learns Christine is her "daughter"): This is when she confronts Leo:
  3. This is the Halloween party which includes Michael and Gabrielle in Eterna costumes to try to get memories out of Viki. You don't get a great look in this clip but I tend to think of Michael's costume as "Wardrobe declares war on Dennis Parlato's crotch and ass." There are about 8 clips of the Halloween episodes. This is the first.
  4. This is when Viki and Renee were in New York trying to find out about her past.
  5. This is when Viki went through hypnosis to try to learn about her memory flashes.
  6. Michael's role in the Eterna lies did come out. I'm not sure if Gabrielle got any heat, but she spent a lot of her time with Michael so it couldn't have been a secret. Michael redeemed himself in Eterna when he saved Viki from some type of room which would kill you with horrible sharp pains to your ears. After this Viki wanted to give him a second chance. Michael then became a sort of "good" character for most of 1989.
  7. Christine's only real story of her own was some pseudo-triangle with gooey ingenue Mari Lyn and her diner-running husband Wade Coleman. Ultimately that ended with Wade/Mari Lyn still together.
  8. Christine was on the show for about a year, I think. Essentially, Christine grew up with only her father, Leo, who was, to her, some type of loveable rogue with some baggage, an adventurer. Over time, he became a drunk, and a failure. Michael Grande lured him in with the great promise of Eterna, a great place to unearth and explore, and money, and so on. When Viki began remembering things, she went to New York with Renee and went to the places Niki had hung out while pregnant with Megan. Leo convinced her that he was the man she was with in those months, and then Victor separated them and made him leave with the baby, Christine. Christine had no idea about any of this, and Leo tried to get Viki to agree to never let Christine know the "truth." Viki blurted it out to her when Christine was seriously ill in the hospital. She only found out about the lie soon before Viki did. Michael wanted to unlock Viki's memories because he wanted to get into Eterna. She'd had a teenage love with Roger Gordon, who'd lived in Eterna. I'm not sure if Michael knew about all that or not. Gabrielle went along with him for money and power. I don't know what reaction Tina had to learning about this. It was kind of sad to see how angry Bo was at Viki being used that way - I haven't sensed a lot of affection between Bo and Viki or her family in quite a while.
  9. This is from a May 1982 Digest
  10. Here is the Doug Stevenson interview from the Digest issue he had the cover of with Marcia McCabe.
  11. Did the gay characters exist in the aired episodes? Here's a Digest column at the party for the TV-movie.

  14. I don't think I can face it yet. I did watch some of the Masood New Year's stuff - what did you think?
  15. Tricia looks a little like Genie Francis there.
  16. Loving ad at about 8:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOIm6xbIZjE

  18. His accent annoyed me, and just the whole stereotype of him. I don't think Erica ever needed the story of the "common" man who would take her down a few pegs. Then making him a secret agent, which was dull, as any spy capers have been on soaps since the Cold War ended.
  19. I just remember the one area I guess. I have few memories of the house - the portrait, and sometimes the living room. If Chris Stamp had any scenes in there, I blocked out any scene he had
  20. Oh that's right. Was that the house with the pink or peach interior? For some reason I don't remember seeing that house very often - I think this was when I could barely watch the show.
  21. In real life, I agree, most things have to go. On a soap, I just have this image of Erica having storage lockers with Mona's things and every once in a while going to see them when she needs to get away from the people in her life. I have to admit I didn't have a big emotional reaction at the time to Linden House burning down because, well, for one thing, the name always kind of annoyed me, and for another, I never got to see Mona (aside from one or two clips). I was more used to the Erica of the late 90's, who had been in and out of Wildwind, and was more of a loner, as Bianca was only a recurring character. It wasn't until the whole Bianca rape story that I started to understand more of the Kane legacy. Wasn't this when she had the phantom mask and contemplated suicide? Or was that something else? I always imagine the people who owned the house wandering in and seeing THE Erica Kane in their bath.
  22. That's right. Thanks. I never even knew he was on soaps until I read this recently.
  23. I forgot Brooke/Adam were together again in 2002. The show went back to them as a default so many times - it's a shame they never kept them together (until the end). It's strange how in 2006 they did not seem to interact at all. I kind of wish Erica had kept all of Mona's stuff. I enjoyed the Erica/Nick relationship in that August 1994 episode. It was such a vital part of Erica's character, something which was always picked up again so easily even after Nick had not been a regular in 20-25 years.
  24. I think Robert was also on another soap around these years (Love of Life?).
