  1. They are kicking themselves for not turning on the hoses.
  2. I'm so glad Virginia voters knew that George Allen, who went into this race assuming he owned that seat, was still full of macaca.
  3. This was all part of Romney's attempts to prove himself to the far right. Ryan is an icon to them. The media also loves Ryan. Politico was only a few days ago writing about how even if Romney loses, Ryan will be the most powerful man in Congress.
  4. I really did think that McCaskill would lose, in spite of Akin's odious candidacy - she has been written off for dead for most of her term, and Missouri has so many conservative pockets. Akin was just way too openly focused on his social crusades. Even at the end he was going on about how Larry Flynt supported McCaskill, and one of Akin's supporters said at least it wasn't Michael J. Fox again. What a great campaign strategy. So do you think the media will talk about how it's not the best idea to go around talking about how rape and rape by pregnancy are no big deal?
  5. Apparently Fox News has declared Tammy Baldwin winning in Wisconsin. If it's actually true this time, that's amazing - I thought it would be a long time before an openly gay person would be elected to the Senate. And from Wisconsin, which is a highly polarized, in some places, deeply conservative state. Unbelievable.
  6. Watching CSPAN and Pete Sessions, who looks like an Auton, is up there crowing with John Boehner. Their keeping the House had very little to do with anything on their part - Sessions failed badly in past years, and Boehner has been a disaster. Don't be shocked if Boehner is booted from the Speaker's role. Boehner also sounds drunk off his ass.
  7. Apparently MA-Sen (Warren/Brown) hasn't been called yet.
  8. Sherrod Brown won in Ohio. Babyface goes back to a treasurer job he hates. Good riddance.
  9. I thought it was too early. Someone on Twitter lied about Baldwin.
  10. The far right moneybag efforts to dump three "Obamacare" Supreme Court justices in Florida failed. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/decision2012/republicans-target-three-florida-supreme-court-justices/2012/10/30/edbeb5de-1d22-11e2-ba31-3083ca97c314_story.html
  11. Here's a profile on Hassan. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/11/04/the-democrats-last-woman-standing-new-hampshire-s-maggie-hassan.html He'll always have Utah.
  12. Larry Kissell, NC Democrat who was redrawn into a bad seat, has lost. Maggie Hassan has won governor of New Hampshire. This race was seen as being closer to GOP for a while, but she pulled it out in the last months. You can probably thank New Hampshire's extremist, activist state legislature.
  13. Anecdotal reports said about the same as 2008. Not sure though.
  14. Looks like Ben Chandler, who has represented KY-6 since 2004, was defeated. I guess Obama's unpopularity in Kentucky was too much for him to overcome.
  15. She was a terrible, tone deaf candidate, over and over. This is just ridiculous. http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/11/linda-mcmahon-sample-ballot-gotv.php?ref=fpnewsfeed Chris Murphy I always remember for defeating Nancy Johnson, who ran the most insane ads against him, and was toppled when she was supposed to be unsinkable.
  16. I love the opening paragraphs. They truly do draw you in.
  17. Looks like Indiana's very own Richard "God intended that to happen" Mourdock is going to lose that Senate seat for Republicans. He's losing badly to Joe Donnelly, so badly that even Mike Pence, another far right culture warrior, is only a few points ahead in what was supposed to be an easy race for governor. I hope those who spent so much time and money chasing Richard Lugar out of the Senate are very, very happy tonight.
  18. This would be the best campaign ad ever: Anyway, I did vote for Obama, and good luck to him.
  19. I wanted to vote for BAMF-in-Chief Rory Williams. But he is not an American citizen, so was not eligible. Maybe 2016.
  20. You're right. Ava returned briefly for the Mendorra story.
  21. No mention of the threesome. Why did Pete shoot at the police? Was he wanted? Was he having a breakdown? Eileen sounds like such a mess I'm surprised the town was happy to have her back. So they brought her back because they knew the show was ending? That was nice of them. Did they bring anyone else back?
  22. I meant to put Brown winning. I didn't see it.
  23. Wisconsin has always been a polarized state, competitive in every election. If anything Ryan's failure to put the state away shows how much of a mistake it was to choose him. He's brought nothing to the ticket, other than appeasement to a base that should have been locked up already.
  24. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/douglas-labier/republican-party-extremism_b_2082383.html Finally have a reason to use this!
  25. I forgot about Virginia. I'm not sure how that will go. I would have given a narrow edge to Kaine but not sure what the latest reports are.
