Revenge: Discussion Thread
She mostly seems to hang out with Niall from Hollyoaks (I know he's named Aiden, I just remember him from Hollyoaks) and doesn't care too much about her friendship. I never got it anyway.

Revenge: Discussion Thread
Every time I watched the show last season (admittedly not too much) I thought the Emily/Nolan friendship was fake and he was kind of annoying and whiny. I wonder if someone at the show agreed, as that seems to be going, going, gone.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
Laurie Holden, who plays Andrea, has gotten hate on Twitter over her character and I think over people not liking her being flirty or posy when she's at various events. Beth just kisses Rick on the cheek, although it must have been shown for a reason.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
If anyone wants to see David Morrisey in a festive setting, and a very different role, he was in a Doctor Who Christmas special a few years ago, called The Next Doctor. He has one of the main roles and his performance runs the gamut (bravado, heartbreak, comedy). He does a great job.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I guess for me it's a little jarring seeing someone go from near-death (and being near-death for months) to heavily flirting within two or three episodes. On paper I might get it. Onscreen, I don't think it entirely worked, although I do think there's too much slut-shaming and anger directed at the character from some. I think mostly she just lacks a purpose on the canvas. I think more could have been done with her bond with Michionne.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
The fangirl stuff mostly cracks me up, along with the endless misery and angst added on to gif sets. My favorite was when someone mentioned a Supernatural scene about Dean telling Castiel (his angel/friend/"brother"/possible boyfriend) that he didn't want to be teleported anymore because the last time it constipated him for a week. Someone said, "No, the real reason was because the last time they teleported, Cas DIED." Another person came along saying, basically, "WHY DOES EVERYTHING NEED TO BE DEPRESSING?" The Walking Dead stuff isn't as heavy, although there is endless obsession over Daryl/Carol. I see what you mean, but it just seems too soon to me that she'd sleep with him. I think they should have kept out the sex element with her character, after what had happened with Shane. They still could have had her trust him.

I used to read ONTD fairly often until it kept giving me virus warnings. Tumblr is the best propaganda these shows could have - it's gotten me into this and got me back watching Supernatural and back to watching some of Sherlock. It's like crack.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
Yeah I hear that on the tumblr for Walking Dead Confessions - people want to see Carl/Beth, they wanted to see Sophia/Carl, and then finally someone will say, "I don't really want to see any of this!" I don't get it either. I do wonder if they'd have Carl try to kill his father over Beth. That's true, but once you take a character down that road, viewers can't have any respect for them. Your defining characteristic being horniness for headcases isn't great long-term.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I was thinking more of the romantic element of the story. David Morrisey is very charming but the character is a little weird even when seeming sane to people. Since Andrea had already been with one psycho you'd think she would have been more wary.

No idea if this is spoiler but, since it's about the comics, just in case

I wonder if a story like that might have worked better with a character like Maggie; I would say Beth, but the character is underage so they wouldn't be writing that.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
It seems like she and Carol are the ones who sound most different from their comic versions (do you prefer the TV or comic Carol?). Carol seems expendable on paper but I think the woman who plays her is the best actress on the show.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
Thanks for the explanation. That does make sense (why she had the walkers). I sort of prefer the other version but can see why they weren't using it. I get the feeling Beth is going to die - that kiss on the cheek seems like the usual "make people care" type last scene, or close to last scene. Andrea seems like a huge moron, especially in that scene where she says she wants to visit the prison. She seems to see the whole thing as a day trip. Weird. I know she's crucial to the comics but she seems extraneous on the show. Maybe she was better early on, with her sister? I didn't see any of that yet.

I thought the Latino family went to Alabama (or is that wrong?). There's been a lot of talk about the one black man rule and how blatant it is. I can't imagine that's being done deliberately, but still...

I'm surprised at all the big shipping wars over Carol/Daryl. I might have thought if any show was free of shipper wars it would be one where viewers know someone can die at any given moment.

That death scene was just too morbid and upsetting for me. I was sort of watching at the time, but tuned out for a number of years. Anyway, more random clips. These have some of the start of the Pamela story. Poor Pamela.
