  1. Carl, with Emmerdale giving you a headache I can't help but want to take the opportunity to shamelessly tell you to finally start watching Shortland Street. Easy to fund on YouTube, very easy to get into. Rarely disappoints and never causes migraines. Today's episode was a biggie with the resident villainess becoming and murderer and killing off her ex-husband. That goes to anyone else that's in desperate need of a good soap fix as well.
  2. "Do you remember Michael Jackson?" Today's episode was so, so good. Kylie needs to play a better game though if she doesn't want to be Pania's next victim. If only Brooke were around to teach her how to get this bitch. I have my problems with Dana, but her and sexy Curtis do have loads of chemistry.
  3. I wonder if they'll do some meta scene with her hot as hell son.
  4. I really liked Rachel mentoring Evan, too. It was another good instance of how well this show evolves their characters. I only just saw the promo for next week on Facebook. It seems I shouldn't have counted Caleb out yet. Whatever happens (yeah, he'll probably bite it), I know the one hour Monday episode is not going to disappoint. Kylie isn't going to have to grow eyes on the back of head, poor thing.
  5. As I continue to watch, I have managed to answer my own question. Leslie left town after Martin showed The Mill and Rodney and Betty remarried. I've updated the Wikipedia page to reflect his correct exit and that of Julie, who returned for the wedding and Constance and Eliot, who had a brief return with a phone call with Eli a few episodes after they had left town.
  6. I don't think they were. When he returned he spouted on how she had cheated on him with some Italian guy.
  7. Great write up, Dion. The finger chopping scene sounds like a must see. LoL I also love that Shorty went and gave someone mad cow disease. Did they ever deal with SARS? This Frank, frankly, sounds like a bit of a boor and a bore. What did you think of this Daniel person? Do you think Chris is truly Rachel's best pairing? If so, anyone you perceive to be a close runner up? As for today, my eyes lit up in shock when Pania murdered Caleb outright. She has damn lost her mind. I am loving this story.
  8. Stephanie Davis (Sinead) fired effective immediately! http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s13/hollyoaks/news/a658706/hollyoaks-star-stephanie-davis-axed-from-sinead-role-as-show-bosses-terminate-her-contract.html#~piDLdKnP5UmQDg I am truly surprised. She must have acted a damn fool to get treated this way, considering the lead status she obtained during this current regime. Still, this is great news. She was a breath of fresh air for her first couple of years, but Kirkwood constantly heaping misery on her and turning her into a filthy skank ruined her.
  9. The ex Corrie writer was on point, as I amateurishly mentioned above. Thank you for uploading that Emily scene. It's always great to see her get the spotlight. So, who did tell this Bernard about Emily's breakdown?
  10. I'm holding out hope that today's Barlow free for all makes up for it, at least a little bit.
  11. I'm currently watching the show (up to episode 328) and Wikipedia says Leslie Harrington last airs with ep. 417, but he wasn't even in that episode and now he's practically disappeared. Is Wiki right and Leslie got a non-exit, or is the site wrong and I just have to wait? If so, does anyone know when he does?
  12. Another question that just popped into my head. With Jimmy mentioning getting a lawyer against Bella, has this show ever had court scenes? There haven't been any for the three years I've been watching.
  13. You know you're one of my favourite posters. It was really nice what you said when you wished me Happy Birthday a couple weeks ago. I was touched. As for Corrie, I'm not that hard to please and I do think Blackburn has done some very, very good things with the show. However, this funeral had nothing. No heart, no history, no tragedy, nothing. Ken's grief at losing his wife was written very by the numbers. He could have been any random husband grieving for his wife. There was so much pettiness as well from Ken towards Tracy, Norris existing for "comedy", bringing Liz's new beau to the funeral to snipe at Leanne, Liz constantly saying Dierdre was HER best mate, even getting Eileen to say she thought she was with Liz replying, "Well you are now." Or something to that effect. They even felt it necessary to have Bev shade Audrey's closeness to Ken. As I said before, I'm very interested in Robert's return and what it could mean for Tracy. It seems the show is now taking an honest effort to have her grow up a bit, but throughout the episode we got some very clunky dialogue like when Tracy introduced Robert to Steve. "Steve, this is my ex-husband Robert. Robert, this is my ex-husband Steve." And everyone singing Bridge Under Troubled Water felt so odd and uncomfortable. As a personal gripe, I usually hate when characters are shown having little conversations as the funeral is happening. For someone like Deidre, though admittedly I'm far from a Corrie historian, it just seemed like she barely had any life at all. Could she not have gotten some flowers from some long ago lover, maybe Billy Walker? Were her only friends in those 4 decades she was on the show Liz and Bev? Has she not had any close relationships with someone other than Ken, a character who she once admitted wasn't even the love of her life. If this were EastEnders, whatever that show's faults, they would have been more honest about her relationship with Ken. Her send off would have been better. It would have seemed like it mattered. Compare her send off to Jim Branning's on EE and it just felt like Deirdre wasn't anywhere near one of the most iconic soap characters of all time. Hell, even Phoebe McQueen got a better send off and that had the love of her life, Robbie, hooking up with Nancy on the same day. The cherry on top of the hollow cake was Amy constantly being lauded as the next Blanche, with her witty repartee. Another trope I despise, and I have faith you'll abhor, too. There was also that one church lady sexually assaulting Kevin. Just cringeworthy all around. Emily, Tracy being comforted by Robert, and Michelle not being there were the only saving graces. There might have been more, but that's what stuck.
  14. Surprised this wasn't posted here yet.
  15. Oh Carl, please watch. I need you to put my hate into words.
  16. Since it was mentioned again today, I have to ask. Is Consquences a real show and, if so, do you watch it? I want to know more.
  17. That was one of the worst written soap funerals I've ever seen. The only good thing was Robert's arrival and even that was marred by clunky dialogue trying to be clever.
  18. I loved that write-up. The dad part gave me pause. It made me think of when OLTL at Eddie Alderson's Matthew crushing on Starr Manning, played by his real life sister, Kristen Alderson. It's also another family connection like we were talking about a few pages back. Except for Waverly, I don't think about any of those other characters either. Except for Li-Mei Chen. Wasn't she much derided for being too stereotypical? On another note, I will miss KJ Apa and except great things for him. He was very good looking and is talent for days. I hope he becomes one of those people I can say "I remember when" one day. However, his exit just adds to the irrelevancy of the Coopers.
  19. This is a fun scene. I miss you Chas.
  20. This is it, but if you're not from the UK chances are it's blocked.
  21. I managed to see the new Summer promo on YouTube about the upcoming disaster/stunt using HOLA, a VPN. It doesn't give away what the disaster is, but everyone is in black going to some sort of festival/circus type thing. Suprisingly, Andy and Chas are not in the promo, but we know they are involved becasue the director has mentioned them on Twitter. Everyone looks fantastic, which is a marked improvement over the last one that had them dressed like clowns, ironically enough. Chas and Andy aside, it does seem like those who aren't in the promo have a better chance at dying. This seemed most obvious because they randomly included Dan and Ruby in the trailer, but no Ali. Unfortunately, our girl Leyla is not in it, but David and Alicia are which adds to the fears that she may die. Since Priya/Rakesh/Kirin are involved, I'm thinking that Vanessa will probably lose the baby. On a better note, Marlon isn't in the promo so maybe I will get my wish that he'll meet his maker. Sorry (not really) for being relentless in my hate, but sometimes you just can't help these things.
  22. He stopped it eventually, so all is well! And yes, it was just to Paddy. I wish Marlon would get in his way ...
  23. http://tvline.com/2015/07/08/twin-peaks-revival-delayed-2017-showtime/ You've probably already seen it, but this TVLine article says 2017. I don't think they'd post it so definitely if they weren't sure what Frost said.
  24. Colour me blind, but except for the show trying to stupidly tease us into thinking Robert might kill again, I have loved everything about this story. Actually, the almost killing Chas bit never bothered me at all. I bought that he would contemplate that as an option. I want him to go one step farther, two steps back. The journey of him dialling back from his amped up, clouded emotions and judgments is fascinating to me. Still, I am dreading tomorrow. I can only hope they don't go too far with him. I can only hope they keep him as a balancing act and not have him fall down too dark a hole. This disaster has me scared for the worst and excited for greatness all at the same time. It's a waiting game caring about the integrity of the Robert character. A nail biting, anxious, nerve wracking waiting game. As for today in particular, I thought it was a great episode. For someone like Chas, it's agonizingly clear that she excels exponetially when away from the Dingles. It gives me joy to love her as mother and friend Chas, but make her spout Dingle speak and it pains me greatly. Lesley Dunlop always delivers when she's given something to do. Given that she's been mentioned as having visited T.J. in the past, I hope they bring him back in a few years time. Another actress I have found myself fond of is Denise Black. If he shockingly manages to make it out of the upcoming disaster alive (yeah right!), she would be an asset to the show. Was she popular on Corrie? Did you like her there, Carl?
  25. Kate Ford impressed me tonight. The rest of this and next week should be good.
