  1. Just wanted to let those few of you who do read the blog that I will be posting a 2-week synopsis either Monday or Tuesday. I've been away with computer problems. Please forgive me for the delay.
  2. Her son just found out that his "boyfriend" slept with a girl. Who wouldn't she think he was faking it? He proclaims to only have eyes for men, but then sleeps with a girl. I think Lily's reaction is understandable.
  3. Stan is a former friend of Iris's. They got into some big trouble together and the last time we saw him on ATWT, he was being hauled away to jail with Iris. But since then, Iris has re-emerged, so I brought back Stan. Barbara and Will hired Stan to come to Oakdale in hopes that he would be able to return newfound Christian Iris to the dark side. Alas, it didn't work and the fake robbery Will had set up for Stan blew up in their faces. Iris chose to do the right thing and tell Jack, who in turn, busted Stan. Now, Stan is telling Will and Barbara that he forgot to disable the cameras...meaning....Will might be on that footage showing Stan around. If that footage becomes part of the investigation, then Will's in trouble and Gwen could possibly find out that he hired Stan to turn her mother to the dark side just so Gwen would shun her forever. Get it? Got it? Good.
  4. It's the 4th of July in Oakdale... Will tries to avoid his wife's questioning eyes. Quickly, he tucks his sweaty hands into his pockets and confesses that he needs to check on his mom. She got some positive readings from the doctor and he's afraid she might be too cocky by going out to Kim's. He's afraid she might overwork herself. Gwen agrees to go with him to check on his mom and the two head to the Hughes house while Iris plays with Hallie. Nancy can sense the tense air between Kim and Lisa and approaches Lisa, grabbing the peach cobbler from her hands. Nancy suggests Lisa help her with the rest of the food and Lisa obliges. Meanwhile, Susan overhears Bob confronting Kim about the tension between her and Lisa. Susan makes her way inside and learns from Lisa that she's skeptical of Kim's peace offering. Susan stands up for Kim, but Kim comes in and tells her not to bother. Lisa's right to be skeptical. Carly arrives at the Snyder farm in just enough time to run into Brad and Katie. The women play nice and both comment on how strange it is that Emma's in town for once. Brad worries that something's wrong with one of his cousins and Emma's making frequent trips out of town to see them. Carly assures Brad that if something was wrong, Emma would tell them. Emma approaches and she gushes about how nice it is to see everyone here....and getting along! Meanwhile, Luke arrives with Jade. Emma puts on a happy smile, but later, she asks Holden why Jade has returned. Holden reveals Jade came back to town to visit with Lily while she sorts some things out. Emma comments how it's not like Jade to just return to town without some ulterior motive. She knows the girl is nothing but trouble and frankly, she confesses, she thought Holden did too. Luke comes in the kitchen and sees Kevin sitting with Sage as she colors. Jack comes in and addresses both Jade and Luke before heading back outside to help Holden with the steaks. Kevin smiles as he watches Jade give the thumbs up from behind Luke. Luke wonders aloud what brought Kevin to his family gathering. Kevin chuckles and says his family went out of town for the 4th and he requested to stay in Oakdale. Luke thinks it's a bit odd his former friend is sitting in his gramdother's kitchen during a holiday and pulls Jade aside. Jade finally confesses that she invited Kevin because she wanted them to patch things up. She knows Kevin meant alot to Luke at some point and she can't stand to watch their friendship crumble because things didn't work out after Luke confessed his feelings to Kevin. Maybe, she hints, Kevin's feelings have changed. Luke raises his eyebrow. Noah rounds the corner at Oldtown and comes across Lucinda and Lily Both have returned from their business meeting and are headed to pick up some things on the way to Emma's. Lily stares Noah up and down before finally asking him what Luke ever did to be punished the way he was. Noah promises he never meant to intentionally hurt Luke; his fling with Carrie was just something that happened. Lily calls him out and tells him how cruel it was for him to pretend to be someone he's not. Luke invested his whole heart in Kevin and Kevin turned him down. Luke was vulnerable when Noah came along, and denied his feelings for Noah because of Maddie. Lily points out that all Noah had to do was cut Luke off right then and there. But instead, Noah strung him along and played gay for a few months before he finally got drunk and got sick of playing the game. Lily's disgusted and joins her mother, who walked off minutes earlier. Noah slams a sign and watches as his hand turns bloody. As he walks he sees Carrie speaking with a man. He buries himself behind a flower pot and watches. Carrie thanks the mystery person for meeting her. Breathlessly, she admits that she would have contacted him sooner, but she got caught up in her own drama. Just then, a dark figure slowly saunters into the light. It's James Stenbeck. Barbara's delighted when she sees Will and Gwen enter. Gwen finds Margo on the other end of the backyard and asks how Casey is while Will pulls Barbara aside. Panting, he pulls out the note and hands it to her. Barbara's shocked when she reads the note from Stan and tells Will to burn it. She can't believe it. Will asks his mom what he's going to do when his wife finds out that he set up Iris to look like a thief so Gwen would shun her forever. Barbara tells Will that no one has asked about the tapes so far and the investiagtion seems to be over already. Will asks what he's going to do when Stan goes to trial. He'll name Will AND Barbara. Barbara smirks and tells her son not to worry about anything. She urges him to return to his wife and enjoy the barbecue and fireworks. She'll take care of Stan. Will warns her not to do anything drastic and Barbara counters, asking Will if he'd rather lose his wife and daughter to a 6x6 jail cell or if he'd like to be with them for the rest of their lives. Knowing he has no other option, Will halfway nods his head and orders his mom to do whatever's necessary. Susan turns around upon hearing Kim say how Lisa's right to be skeptical of their newfound truce. Kim reveals that she and Susan have been at odds for years...and there's nothing better she'd like than to rip Susan to pieces. However, she knows that bitterness will only plague her for the rest of her life. She informs Susan that she will never forgive or forget what she and Bob did that one night. That's one night with her husband that she'll never get back. Susan tries to apologize, but Kim cuts her off and tells her to keep it in the past. They've started over. Lisa shakes her head. Susan emerges from inside the house and finds Michael visiting with Bob by the grill. Michael's excited to see Susan, but remembering Bob's hesitation, plays it down. Susan asks Michael what took him so long and he informs her that his niece stopped by. Lisa brings them all lemonade as Kim calls out the fireworks are about to start. Paul makes his way through Fairwinds, screaming Rosanna's name. Surely, he thinks aloud, she didn't lie to him. Just then, a maid emerges and tells him that Mrs. Cabot headed out on business a little while ago. Business, he angrily screams. Out the door he goes and rushes to the airport. He almost misses Rosanna's blonde hair wrapped in a colorful scarf. She turns around and warns Paul not to try and persuade her to cancel the trip. She knows Cabot's in danger and she's going to make sure he's alright. Tears stream below her sunglasses as she confesses she can't sleep at night when she doesn't even know if he's safe or not. Paul begs her to drop it, but Rosanna replies by marching down the terminal. He calls out for her, but she's already boarded the plane. Defeated, he heads back out. This all wrong, he says. Over and over, he paces before finally shoving the stewardess aside and boarding the plane. Rosanna flinches when she sees a gasping Paul beside her. If you're going, he pants, then I'm coming with you. Rosanna shyly grins and orders the pilot of her private jet to cancel his call for security. "That'll be two for Canada. I have a guest," she informs him. Carly can see Jack in pain and giggles that she'd be hurting too if she swallowed a steak whole like he did. Jack replies that he never gets a good home cooked meal anymore, so when he gets the chance to eat real food, he lunges at it. Carly's wounded stare makes Jack retract his words, but he knows he's hurt her feelings. To make up for it, he calls the kids together and grabs Carly by the waist, practically hurrying them outside. Both parents laugh in glee as they watch the kids playing with the fireworks. Meanwhile, back in Oldtown, Noah watches as Carrie meets with a mystery man. He can't make out the face, but he remembers that voice. James tells Carrie that he thought he could trust her with an important misson, but as the days go by, she disappoints him more and more. Carrie apologizes and trembling, tells James that she was banking that she had more time. James grumbles that he gave her plenty of time. She's failed to fulfill her part of the agreement, so he's failing to meet his part. "No!" Carrie screams. She beats her fists against James's chest, crying for another chance. Finally, he prys her hands away and barks at her that she has one more week to get the information. After that, she can kiss her past and her future goodbye. Noah calls out for James, still not knowing it's him but James races off into the night. Still crying, Carrie runs from Noah. He finally catches up to her and asks what's the matter. Who was that, he wonders. Carrie does nothing but cry and hold tight to Noah as fireworks explode above them. The gray airy residue from the fireworks falls into the night sky above Luke, Kevin, and Jade as they all watch the fireworks from Emma's porch. Jade agrees to help Sage with a sparkler, leaving Luke and Kevin behind. Kevin holds his hand out, but Luke doesn't see it. Kevin sinks back in his seat. Jade, watching them, falls down and calls for help. As both young men rush to help her, they both bend down and raise their heads at the same time. While Sage runs off with her sparkler and Jade crawls away, Luke and Kevin are still exchanging a longing glance. Kevin lunges forward, entangling his lips with Luke's. As they kiss, Luke pulls away violently and dashes inside. Jade comforts a wounded Kevin as he watches an emotional Luke through the kitchen window. Meanwhile, Susan and Michael, Kim and Bob, Nancy and Lisa, Barbara, Will and Gwen, and Margo and Tom all look up at the night sky illuminated with colors. Jack and Carly laugh as Lily comes up behind Holden and surprises him. They watch as Holden and Lily kiss. Jack inches his hand towards Carly's and she eventually clasps her fingers around his hand. They exchange a look as Holden and Lily look on hopefully. Emma sits and watches the night sky with a distress in her eyes. Brad sits beside her as she forces a smile and pats his hand. Katie loops her arms around Brad and they all three watch the children gallop through the yard playing while fireworks glow in the humid night air above them. Meanwhile, Henry and Vienna pack boxes as the color lights up their bedroom curtains. Paul watches as Rosanna sleeps and turns to look down at the world from the jet's window. Rosanna stirs in her sleep as Paul sees a tiny flicker of red, white, and blue dancing thousands, perhaps millions, of feet below.
  5. Lisa hangs up the phone and makes her way outside. As she locks up the door to Fashions, Barbara comes by and tells her about going to Bob and Kim's. Lisa asks if Barbara's health is any better and Barbara says that she still has pain, but it's something she's going to have to live with. Barbara smiles when she tells her old friend that the latest tests show that they got 90% of the cancer. The rest of the cancer will most likely go away after some treatment. Barbara assumes Lisa's going to Bob and Kim's for the picnic, but Lisa opts out, claiming she has some stuff to do. As Lisa heads to her car, Bob comes beside her after picking up some food for the picnic back in Oldtown. Bob asks if she's coming and comically quips that there's going to be fireworks since Susan's coming. Lisa mumbles that she heard Kim and Susan made peace, but she doesn't think that years of ill will can go away with just a handshake. Bob surprisingly agrees with her and tells her that he was surprised too when Kim made peace with Susan. Thnking out loud, he tells Lisa that he hopes this is a sign that Kim's finally coming around and ditching her jealous tendencies when it comes to Susan. As he unlocks his car, he tells Lisa to come out the picnic. Lisa shakes her head and tells Bob that she and Kim shared words the other day and she doesn't think Kim's her biggest fan right now. Bob won't hear anything of it and tells Lisa that she's coming. Lisa smiles and says that she'll try to make an appearance. As Susan opens the door to Bob and Kim's, an exuberant Kim welcomes her in. Alison and Aaron, Susan claims, are going to stop by after they visit with Emma. Susan mentions how glad she is that Kim's finally put everything to rest and comments how silly it was that they stayed bitter towards each other for so long. Kim bites her toungue and smiles, almost missing Bob come up behind her. Bob asks Kim what she and Lisa shared words about the other day and Kim sugar coats it, saying that they just had a misunderstanding. Bob informs her that he invited Lisa over and hopes it's okay. Kim turns around in just enough time to witness Lisa enter. On the other side of town, the Snyders all gather around in the kitchen and take turns helping Emma set the table. Holden voices his sadness in Seth, Caleb, Ellie, and Meg not being in town and mentions how scattered they've all become over the years. Emma shrugs and tells Holden that she always sort of knew her children would stray from the nest, but she has hope they'll all be back together soon. Alison and Aaron appear and see Kevin sitting by himself. Alison asks if Luke's coming and Holden turns around to enlighten them that he got roped into babysitting the girls while Lucinda and Lily go to a business meeting. Emma wishes aloud that Lily would have sent the children over, but Holden tells her that Ethan's been cranky all day and Natalie has developed the chicken pox. Alsion pulls Aaron aside and tells him that she has an idea...they can watch the kids while Luke comes to visit with Kevin. Aaron doesn't like the idea of meddling in his little brother's love life. Alison replies that it'll be fine and grabs Aaron by the hand. Aaron asks if she still plans on going to the Hughes picnic and Alison chuckles that she'd rather babysit adorable kids than watch Kim and Susan in all their fakeness. Will paces in front of the couch as Gwen gets Hallie ready to go the park. Will suggests they go the Hughes picnic. Gwen informs him that she already promised Iris that they'd make time to come watch fireworks with her at the park. Once they arrive, Iris is glad to see them and pulls Gwen aside to tell her about a man she just met in the park. As Iris tells Gwen that the man is single, good looking, and extremely nice, Will gets nudged by a stranger. Will snaps for him to watch where he's going. As he turns he notices a white slip of paper extruding from his pocket. As he reaches down to grab it, he reads the message. "I forgot to disable the cameras", it reads....signed by Stan. Will shudders and fumbles to put the note back in his pocket as Gwen approaches. Shaken, Will puts on a happy facade and suggests they leave Iris with Hallie while they visit at the Hughes. Intent on telling his mother about the latest development with Stan and eager to see what she has to say, Will practically drags Gwen back to the car. Once there, Gwen asks point blank why Will seems so deadset on going to the Hugheses. Michael slowly stirs his coffee as he watches the fireworks show on TV. A knock comes at the door and he's delighted to see Katie on the other end. Katie, hurried, tells her uncle to get his stuff and come with her and Brad to Emma's for a fireworks show and some good home cooking. Michael gushes that he'd like o, but he sort of promised Kim that he'd make an appearance at her get together. Katie raises her eyebrow and wonders why her boss would want Michael to come by the Hughes house. Michael jokingly asks if that's such a bad thing that he was invited to the house of one of his hospital colleagues. Katie stares him down and tells him that it is when she knows he's lying. She accuses him of having other reasons for going, but before Katie can get to the bottom of things, Brad honks the horn. Katie heads back out as Michael gathers his things and heads to the Hughes house. Rounding up the kids, Carly hands Jack some allergy medicine for Parker. J.J. asks Carly to come with them, which leads to Sage's incessant whining that she come watch fireworks with them at Aunt Emma's. Carly promises to stop by, but only for a little while. Excusing herself, Carly returns back inside and sees Carrie rushing down the stairs. Carly asks Carrie where the hell she thinks she's going and Carrie retorts that she promised a friend that she'd come by and help with his fireworks. Carly worries that Carrie's too fragile, but Carrie laughingly tells Carly that she should be having fun, too. After all, it's only one day out of the year that America truly embraces their independence. The least she can do is be independent and have some good ole fashioned American fun. Carly smiles and agrees, but hesitates when she sees Carrie acting anxious. Carly asks if she's alright and Carrie hushes her concerns with a hasty "go". After Carly makes her way out, Carrie rushes out the door. As Carrie makes her way through deserted Oldtown, someone waits for her...lurking in the shadows.
  6. When Lily returns from talking with Jade, Holden is more than eager to find out what his wife's niece is up to. Lily assures him that Mr. Taylor is just trying to get in touch with Jade out of worry and informs Holden that she advised Jade to return her adoptiv father's calls. Holden can't help but think that something fishy is going on, but Lily promises him that Jade has changed. Katie returns to WOAK to work late on a story for Oakdale Now when she runs into Kim. Kim congratulates her on the good news and snickers that Brad told her all about it. Katie thanks Kim, who tells her that if she needs anything at all, just let her know. While Kim heads off to the hospital to check on Casey, Brad corners Katie in her office. Giggling, he pushes her up against the wall and starts to playfull nibble at her neck. Katie pushes him off and sternly tells him to cut it out, people are still here. Brad takes it down a notch and breaks the news to Katie that Henry and Vienna are looking to move to Paris. Katie's devastated by the news and concludes that she'll talk with Henry and Vienna about it tomorrow at the Snyder farm. Brad's unaware that Emma has invited them all to her place for a 4th of July dinner, but once Katie tells him, he takes it as the perfect chance to spread news of their engagement. As Lucinda furiously hangs up the phone on a former colleague, Paul and Rosanna enter. Paul chuckles that Lucinda still hasn't lost her touch. Lucinda asks if James has done something with Barbara, but Paul tells her that James seems to have vanished after telling himself and Rosanna that he has information about Cabot. Lucinda seems very empathetic and tells Paul that she'll do anything she can to help. Paul asks if she minds contacting her friend with the adoption agency (the one not tied to James) and see if she can locate Cabot. Lucinda agrees and after making some calls, she tells them that Cabot has been moved into a new home with some close friends of his adoptive parents. Rosanna doesn't buy it and asks Lucinda if she can have the number. As they walk out, Paul assures Rosanna that all is fine. Perhaps, he suggests, this is all just another mind game of his father's. Rosanna keeps up her happy facade and echoes that he's right...there's nothing to worry about. Later, after Paul has left, Rosanna makes a phone call and schedules a flight to Canada. Susan comes home and hollers for Emily. When there's no answer, she guesses that Emily's working late at the paper. Just then, Emily comes home and dashes upstairs, hoping to avoid her mother. Susan tells her to cut it out. For the past two weeks, Emily's been ignoring her like a teenager. Emily barks that she'll continue ignoring her mother until she sees that Dusty is past the whole retraction incident. She informs Susan that she and Dusty have made progress, but she can't even savor the happiness because her mother keeps telling her not to get her hopes up. Susan calmly replies that she's just looking out for Emily. She knows how easily Emily invests her heart into something and she's date to see Emily get her heart broken again. Seeing the conversation going nowhere, Susan tells her that Kim has invited them all to the Hughes barbecue. Emily recalls going a few years ago with Chris and comments that she's happier working at the paper on a holiday than being watched by judging eyes. Susan tells her she can bring Dusty if she'd like. Emily questions it all, recalling that Susan and Kim despise each other. Susan tells her that Kim buried the hatchet with her and she sees Kim's invitation as further proof that she's ready to move on and forget the past. Emily smirks doubtfully. Carly comes down after putting Sage to sleep and is startled by a kock at the door. It's Jack, coming to return an ill Parker. As Parker rushes to the bathroom, Carly gathers his bags from Jack. Jack shrugs that a bug's been going around school. Sensing the akward air, Jack starts to leave until he notices Carrie coming down the stairs. Point blank, he asks her if she's been followed anymore since the other day. As Carrie runs her finger across her neck trying to stop Jack from telling, Carly whirls around and hysterically asks why Carrie never told her she was being followed. Carrie tells her that it was nothing. She thought she was being followed, but it was probably Carrie's imagination. Carly throws up the fact that James is back in town and worries to Jack that Carrie could be easy prey to him. Carrie assures Carly that she's fine and runs back upstairs. Jack takes advantage of the silence and invites Carly to come with him to Emma's. Carly tries to turn him down, but Jack admits that he already told the kids he's take them. Carly scolds Jack for telling them such a thing without consulting her first, but eventually tells Jack the kids can go, but she's not. Meanwhile, in her room, Carrie makes a cryptic phone call and demands that the person leave her alone. Before hanging up, she overhears Jack and Carly's conversation about going to Emma's. She turns around and tells the person on the other end of the call that she'll meet them tomorrow while Jack and Carly go to Emma's. Frustrated, she hangs up and cuddles up with a baby blue blanket.
  7. Susan's shocked to see Michael back at work. He protests that not even his psychotic estranged wife can keep him from work. Susan giggles and asks if he has any plans for the 4th. He sighs, knowing that he has no plans, and tells her that he was thinking of taking a nice little road trip to Chciago. He asks if Susan would like to come, but Kim interrupts and tells them both that she won't hear of any of it. She wants them both to come by the house for the annual 4th of July barbecue. Katie's touched by her mother's kind words and tells her that she knows that she's been through the ringer with men. However, she promises, this is the last time. She's finally found her equal in Brad. She doesn't have to worry about crazy sisters and long-lost diamonds and toolbelts and bunnies. All she has to worry about is her love for Brad. Lyla admits that Brad has grown on her, but she encourages Katie to learn from her mistakes and know that just because she loves a man doesn't mean she has to marry him. Katie protests that she and Brad have a friendship, but they have more than that. They have a bond. Weary from arguing, Lyla gives Katie her blessing, but half-jokingly cracks that this is the last engagement of Katie's that she's going to give her blessings to. Katie smiles and thanks her mom, hugging her once again. Barbara flips through her assistant's pile of paperwork and sends her off once again to make last minute arrangements for a fashion show. Paul learns that his mother sent new orders over and chuckles at the assistant's assertion that Barbara doesn't seem ill....she's still the shrewd dictator that hired her. Paul dismisses her and sees Rosanna pacing outside. Rosanna bursts in and tells Paul that she just did some checking and it seems that Cabot's adoptive parents were killed in a car crash recently. Paul takes Rosanna in tow and they dash to the police station in search of some answers. After learning of Casey's accident and Margo's absence, Paul resolves to handle this on his own. Rosanna frets that the way James was talking led her to believe the worst and now, it's all playing out brilliantly like a James Stenbeck scheme. Paul turns to Rosanna and vows that James isn't going to do anything to Cabot...not if he has anything to do with it. As a nurse sets his food tray down, Casey picks through his spinach. Margo smiles, remembering her late night fights with Casey when he was an infant and refused to eat his vegetables. Margo looks at Casey and remembering how innocent he once was, she starts to cry. Casey asks his mom what has her so upset, but Margo replies that she's just so happy to see him in front of her right now. Casey shamefully admits that what he did was a mistake and he's the biggest idiot for endangering his life like that all because of Sofie leaving. Margo steps outside and runs into Kim. For a little while, they both bond over how much their sons have changed. While Kim can't believe her son would ever endanger his father to get what he wanted, Margo laments that she never thought she would see Casey get drunk and take sleeping pills to numb the loss of a girl he loved that left him for another man. Kim gives the ultimate "kiddo" speech to Margo, telling her that Chris is behind bars and won't see daylight for some time now. However, she strictly points, Casey's right there in that hospital room. The best thing she can do for him right now is be there for him, even when he might scream that he doesn't need her. The truth is, she points out, Casey needs her now more than she knows. Lily finds Jade cleaning the expresso machine at Java and asks to speak with her. Jade sits down and asks her aunt what she needs to talk about. Lily tells her that Mr. Taylor called the house today looking for her. She wants to know why Jade's adoptive father would seem to be looking for her if things really are as Jade reported them. Jade reasons that when she left, she left without saying anything to anyone. Her argument with the Taylors was the fiercest one yet. Jade hangs her head and admits that she slapped Mrs. Taylor, but reasons that it was only because she said hurtful things about Rose. Lily softens at the mention of her departed twin's name and demans her niece make things right with the Taylors. She tells Jade that even though she might have never known her real mother, Rose, the Taylors cared for her all her life. The least that she can do, Lily points out, is make things right with them. Jade agrees. Later, Lily informs Jade that Kevin hasn't quit calling him. Jade wonders aloud what he might want and Luke reveals that Kevin wants him to tag along for the fireworks show at the marina on the 4th. Jade knows that Kevin has feelings for Luke. She knows that neither side seems ready to admit those feelings, and encourages Luke to go with Kevin to the marina. Hopefully, she vaguely urges, the two of them can have a good time and wait for fireworks.
  8. Margo and Tom pace the hospital waiting for word on Casey. Bob emerges and tells them that Casey will be fine. He took a combination of sleeping pills and alcohol, which is never good. Bob tells them how lucky Casey is just as Alison and Aaron arrives. He continues and says that they had to pump Casey's stomach. Tom asks if they can see their son and Bob agrees, but only if they promise to keep the lecture to a minimum. After all, Casey's still pretty groggy. Inside the room, Casey sheds tears when he sees his mom. He reaches out to embrace her and she's more than happy to oblige. Casey mumbles that he's an idiot but Margo hushes him just as Lyla and Katie arrive. Alison and Aaron wait for their time to go in and see Casey. Lisa asks Aaron how her grandson is doing and Aaron admits that he's with Tom and Margo now. As Lisa sneaks into the room, Aaron tells Alison how scared she was tonight. Alison admits that she always pictured herself as a normal every day girl. When she got hooked on meth, during her rare sober time, she would imagine herself much like Casey was tonight. She knew that if she didn't quit, she was going to be labeled as "that doctor's daughter from Oakdale who o.d.'d". Aaron hugs her and tells her that all that is in the past now. After Katie has her time with her nephew, Lyla steps in. Lightly, she knocks on the door and Casey motions her in. He apologizes, saying that he's very sleepy. Lyla chuckles and tells Casey that he's alright. Casey reveals that all the drinking and all the sleeping pills were meant to deal with a deeper problem...Sofie. He never imagined that yet another girl who he had invested so much of his heart in would just leave him cold and dry. Lyla smiles and admits that what Casey's going through right now is normal. Every day, people dare to take a plunge and fall in love. However, not many make it. All through childhood, parents look to shield their child from any sort of pain. Sometimes, it carries into adulthood and parents try and shield their children from heartbreak, but the reality is: Only you can be the one to determine if that love is real, if it'll last. Through trial and error, you just have to ride out that relationship for a while and see if your love is strong enough to last. She admits that she hasn't been a very good example of her analogy lately, recalling when she got mad at Katie's engagement news. However, she realizes now that the only way that Katie's ever going to learn, the only way that Casey's ever going to learn if a love is meant to be or not, is if you ride it to the very end. Lyla notices Casey's sleeping and pats him on the hand. Just as she turns around, she comes face to face with Katie. Tears in her eyes, Katie mutters that she heard everything and hugs her mom. Henry scoots around the office quickly, jotting down signatures and calling out orders. Brad peeps in and asks to speak with him. Henry breathlessly mumbles to make it quick. He and Vienna, he insists, are meeting with potential investors for ViCE Cometics in a bit. Brad sits down and openly applauds Henry and Vienna for turning his office at WOAK into a makeshift office for ViCE. Henry throws his finger up, adding to the discussion that he forgot to mention that Vienna's found them a new office somewhere and they'll be clearing out Brad's desk this evening so he can quit having to use Katie's office. Brad shrugs that he's not worried about it and smiles at a picture of himself, Vienna, and Henry. Seeing how busy Henry is, Brad vows to stop by some other time, but Henry stops him. As he takes Brad by the shoulder, he admits that he's been meaning to talk to Katie about this. Gulping, Henry reveals that the office that Vienna found is in Paris....and he and Vienna are debating a permanent move there so they can keep better watch over everything ViCE-related. Brad asks why they can't just stay in Oakdale and Henry sighs that unfortunately, Oakdale isn't a very big town. Besides, he's always dreamed of living in France. Brad pats him on the back, deciding to shelve his news of engagement for the time being. As he gets up to leave, Henry asks his friend to help him break the news to Katie. Brad agrees.
  9. Bob comes home and finds his mother watching her soaps on TV. Comically, he states those shows are as old as her. Nancy playfully pats his arm and asks how his day was. Bob recalls that the strangest thing happened. Kim and Susan buried the hatchet. Bob shrugs that perhaps all his lectures criticizing Kim's adolescent bitterness towards Susan have paid off. Meanwhile, Kim confides in Lisa that she made nice with Susan. Lisa questions her, citing that Kim's not one to go down without a fight. Kim grins and replies that by burying the hatchet with Lisa, she's not only regained Bob's trust, but now, she can also keep a closer eye on Susan without being accused of being jealous. Lisa scoffs that it sounds like Kim's genius scheme is the epitome of "not over it", which makes Kim get up and storm out. As Luke and Jade drive to the concert, Jade voices her happiness with being able to hang out with her cousin again. She explains that when she went back to repair things with the Taylors, all she did was sulk around in misery; she wasn't happy. Now that she's home, she beams, she can hang out with people that love her for her, not some misunderstood girl from an orphanage like the Taylors think of her. When they pull up to the concert, they can see cars lined up for miles. Luke isn't sure he's ready to be seen in public. He suggests that all his friends from Oakdale U will be looking for answers about Noah and he doesn't feel like saying that name ever again. Jade pats him on the back and assures him that he doesn't have to. Alison and Aaron take a seat inside the concert. Alison tells Aaron that she invited Casey, but he didn't feel like coming. Aaron says how hard it must be for him to have the one girl in his life walk out on him. Alison takes it the wrong way, thinking he's talking about her leaving him in Seattle, and starts to leave. Suddenly, Casey appears down at the bottom of the rafters. Alison motions him up and suggests that he have a good time; tonight is going to be fun. Casey denies he's ready for fun since Sofie just walked out on him for one of his good friends. Aaron promises that he'll be fine; just sit back and enjoy the music. Jade and Luke find an empty section towards the top and sit down as the band starts to play their first song. Luke talks about how great it is that Oakdale U supports this teen summer concert tour. Not only do students get to hear great music, but the funds raised go towards his computer systems program along with others. Jade finds someone staring out of the corner of her eye and sees Kevin start to approach. Almost a warning, Jade mumbles Kevin's proximity to Luke, who surprisingly invites Kevin over. Kevin seems to be alone until a girl comes and sits beside him. Luke brushes it off and hopes Kevin has a great time. The two barely talk, but Jade can sense something silent going on between them. Jack follows Carrie home as she pulls into the drive at Carly's. She thanks Jack for being so protective, but blushing, tells him she can handle three steps to the porch. Jack goes in anyways and informs Carly that Carrie had someone following her in Oldtown. Carrie shrugs it off as nothing and pretends like Jack is overreacting. Later, Noah comes by and requests to speak with Carrie. At first, Carly almost closes the door on him, but Carrie stops her and welcome him in. Shamefully, he admits that he treated her wrong. He should have never led her on like he did that night. He was drunk and upset and his head was somewhere else. Carrie smiles that he doesn't owe her anything, but Noah puts his hand on hers and mumbles that he does. They were having a child together and he acted like she didn't exist. He mutters that he knows what it feels like to feel abandoned and he would have changed alot if he could. After Noah leaves, Carly applauds Carrie on her gracious acceptance of Noah's apology. Carrie sighs that she knows Noah's mindset is a bit jumbled; she's been there, but he'll have to live with his pain for a long time if he doesn't learn to forgive himself first. As Carrie takes off her robe, she receives a text..."We need to talk. And don't bring the cop. Or you know what will happen". As the concert comes to a close, Aaron spots Jade, Kevin, and Kevin's female friend waiting for Luke in the parking lot. Jade excuses herself, and the girl too, but Jade stays in ear range as Aaron and Kevin talk. Aaron chastises Kevin for bringing a girl when he knows Luke already thinks of him as a homophobic womanizer. Kevin laughs that the mystery girl is his niece of one year age difference and he brought her to the concert to meet up with her boyfriend who never showed. Aaron apologizes, but Kevin barks that Aaron should mind his own business. He'll tell Luke in his own time, Kevin says. Meanwhile, Luke approaches and asks Jade what's going on. Jade lies and says she doesn't know, almost daring Luke to go find out why his brother and his ex-best friend seem to be in a heated talk. Across the parking lot, Alison drags a drunk Casey to her car and orders him to stay there. She scolds him for getting too drunk and promises he'll regret it in the morning. As Alison goes to find Aaron, Casey unpacks a bottle of sleeping pills he smuggled from an old college friend. He chases two down with a swig of beer and sighs that if drunkenness won't rid his mind of Sofie, perhaps sleep will. Casey passes out moments before Alison and Aaron get in the car. They blame his passing out on all the beer he's had, but when they pull up to his house, they can't wake him up. Frantically, Alison rushes in and wakes up Tom. Alison nervously pants for Tom to come quick....Casey's stopped breathing. While Tom performs CPR, the ambulance arrives to take Casey to the hospital.
  10. Carrie comes home and finds that Carly brought by a fruit basket from the women at WOAK. Carrie gushes about how thoughtful they are and heads upstairs. Carly stops her and asks for her to sit down on the couch. Carly can see that Carrie's hurting and gives her advice, recalling how she felt when she lost Nora. Carrie thanks her and decides to go out for some shopping, hoping her favorite hobby can ease her anxiety. In Oldtown, she runs into Noah who's there buying Luke something. They barely say two words to one another but Carrie's wounded look speaks volumes to Noah. Later, Noah pays a visit to Cheri's grave and confides that he knows what it's like to grow up without a parent. He wishes now that he had taken more initative to be a part of Carrie's baby's life...his baby's life...instead of doing what he did and persuading her to get rid of it. Meanwhile, Carrie feels someone following her as she heads into Fashions. Jack, emerging after returning a blouse for Emma, senses Carrie's fright and ushers her into the store. Little does he know that just feet away, James has ducked into an alleyway to avoid being seen. Taking a break from work, Bob fiddles with paperwork in his office. Susan comes by to inform Bob of a problematic nurse being late once again when Kim eases her way into the office. Susan turns to take her leave, but Kim gently clutches her arm and tells Susan to stay. She needs to speak with both of them. Bob warns his wife not to make any claims that she can't support. Kim laughs, informing them both that she's come because she needs to settle something. She continues that for months now, she's been childishly jealous of Susan and Bob working together. With Chris in prison for the actions he took against his father, she felt that Susan's own bitterness towards Chris (for loving and leaving her daughters) would negatively affect Bob. Then, when it was announced that the cancer center would be built, she felt that Bob and Susan working so closely together would result in another affair. However, she finishes, now she's seen that all her hostility towards Susan has done is create a rift in her marriage. With that, Kim extends her hand to Susan. Forcing a smile, she mumbles, "Truce?" Susan and Bob exchange questioning glances before Susan finally takes her enemy's hand and shakes it vigorously. "Truce", she sighs. Kim's lips curl with a slightly devious smile. Inching her glasses halfway down her nose, Lucinda holds out the latest copy of The Intruder. She examines the special story done on Sherry and her father's devious attempted take over of Worldwide. She thanks Emily and heads out, only to get a call from a concerned Lily. Lily recalls leaving Jade with the kids, but when she came home, Luke was watching them. He didn't say where Jade had gone; he only told her that Jade would tell her herself. Lucinda stops by and sees Lily's in distress. Lily worries that Jade has found her way back to the troublesome life she lived before. Jade comes home and eases Lily's concerns when she informs her that she got a job at Java. Lily doesn't see why since Jade should know that she can count on her aunt for financial support. Jade reasons that she's done having to rely on others; she's learned to live by her own rules and bearing her financial burdens is one of the things she's learned to accept. She explains that she plans on paying rent, but Lily refuses. Before the issue can be drug through the dirt, Luke comes home and asks Jade to accompany him to a concert. Lyla paces in front of Tom and Margo's sofa. She can hear Sofie and Casey's argument escalating. She had come over to talk with Margo, but when she realized Margo was at work, she called her and asked her to come home so they could talk. Meanwhile, Casey and Sofie stand in Casey's room. As Casey throws a lamp against the wall, he blasts Sofie for having feelings for Gabe and leading himself on for all these months. Sofie cries that she's not guilty of anything except chasing her lifelong dream. Frustrated, she cries out, "Did you really think that I wanted to clean mansions for the rest of my life?" Sofie maintains that the only reason she signed with the modeling agency in Spain is because she wanted to, not because she wants to be closer to Gabe. Casey growls that he should have never introduced them. Sofie comes forward and clings to Casey. Tearfully, she begs Casey to let her do what she wants with her life. That, of all things, will prove to her that he loves her. Casey turns a cold shoulder and tells Sofie to leave. When she doesn't respond, he angrily screams for Sofie to leave. With that, she scurries out the door and hops into the waiting taxi cab. He watches, with anger and sorrow, as the taxi cab pulls out of the driveway. No doubt, he knows, it's taking her to the airport to catch a ride to Spain and out of his life forever. Margo comes home and finds Lyla sitting restlessly on the couch. She apologizes, citing that a case blew up in her face at the last minute and she ended up having to stay at the station longer. She turns her head and watches as Sofie scurries down the stairs. She calls out for Casey, knowing that Sofie must have just left for Spain. He doesn't come out and Lyla suggests Margo go talk to him. Margo contemplates that she can talk to him later. Lyla breathes in deeply and spills her reason for coming. She wants Margo to head off the train before it wrecks and persuade Katie to end her engagement to Brad. Margo questions that she thought Lyla liked Brad now. Lyla admits that she has eventually warmed up to Brad, but she's worried that Katie's heart will be ripped to shreds by another faulty marriage. Sometimes, Lyla reveals, she worries that Katie only has as many moth-infested wedding dresses as she's had because she's trying to fill a hole that her father left when he died. Somehow, she reasons, Katie thinks that by marrying, she's marrying a man that will (ironically) be that father figure that she's thirsted for for so long. Margo chuckles and grabs her mother's hand. Softly, she whispers that Lyla's concerns are well founded, but she has to let Katie find out the hard truths of love on her own. She reasons that Lyla can't always be there to head off the train. Katie, meanwhile, just has to sit on the train and hope it doesn't run off the tracks. Lyla pats her daughter's hand and mutters that maybe she's right. As Lyla heads out the door, Tom comes in. Wearily, Margo suggests he go talk to his son. Tom agrees but after a failed attempt to pry him from his room, he shrugs to Margo that perhaps Casey needs time to himself.
  11. After a successful first day back at Oakdale Now, Brad suggests he and Katie go out to celebrate. The two arrive arm in arm at Mona Lisa and are stunned to see Lyla and Margo there as well. Margo shrugs that she thought Lyla needed some good old fashioned fun and brought her to karaoke night at Mona Lisa. After Margo practically shoves Lyla on stage, she sings a heartwrenching rendition of the classic "Save The Last Dance for Me". While Lyla sings, Margo urges Katie and Brad to break the news to Lyla about their engagement. Margo reasons that Brad has grown in Lyla's eyes and she'll happily welcome the good news. Brad takes the celebration too far, though, and drags Katie on stage to sing a very drunken rendition of the Sonny & Cher song "I Got You Babe". As everyone clears out for the night, Katie tells her mother that Brad proposed and she accepted. Lyla doesn't take the news well at all and on the way out, delivers a fall-inducing shove to Brad as he staggers outside. Katie's hurt by her mother's actions and vows to get married even if her mother doesn't approve. Lily comes downstairs and finds Jade watching TV with the girls. She announces to Jade that she's going out for a bit and won't be in until tonight. Jade lets her go, but after she's left, remembers that her first day working at Java is today. Nervously, she rings for Holden, but his phone goes straight to voicemail. It seems she's at a loss until Kevin arrives in search of Luke. Desperate, Jade begs Kevin to babysit and vows to make it up to him. Luke comes home from his summer class at Oakdale U and is shocked to find Kevin babysitting his siblings. Luke pulls him outside and Kevin explains how Jade forgot it was her first day of work when she promised to watch the kids for Lily. Kevin mentions that he heard about Noah and Carrie, but Luke cuts him off. He thanks Kevin for babysitting but assures him that he can handle it from here. And with that, he scurries Kevin out the door. Later, Kevin runs into Jade who thanks him for sitting with the kids. Kevin asks how Luke is taking the break-up. Jade wonders aloud why Kevin seems to be so worried about Luke now as opposed to last summer when Kevin was doing the exact opposite. Kevin gushes how he owes his life to Luke and he just wants to make sure his friend is happy. Bob meets with Michael and Susan to deliver the good news that the cancer center has been more successful than ever imagined. He thanks both of them for their devotion and vaguely mentions that he hopes they're all professional enough to not let anything get in the way of their work. As Bob returns to his office, Lisa catches him in the hallway. She scolds Bob for not doing anything to ease Kim's suspicions about him having feelings for Susan again. Bob tells Lisa that for Kim to believe that, it not only shows her lack of faith in him, but it also shows that old habits die hard. He's always going to live with the guilt of his one night with Susan, but Kim has been making it her duty for years to remind him of that night. He tells Lisa that he only wants what's best for Susan...as a colleague and a friend. Lisa advises Bob to tell Kim everything he just told her, but Bob groans that he has and all he hears is the slamming of doors. Lisa coolly vows to make sure Kim knows that Bob only has eyes for Kim, not Susan. Later, Kim meets with Lisa at the Lakeview and Lisa informs her friend that Bob claims he only wants what's best for Susan. It seems she's been crushing on Michael and Bob fears it might jeopardize the progress the cancer center is making. Kim scolds herself for falling back into the old "Bob likes Susan" mindset again and vows that she knows the perfect way to make it up to Bob. Will mopes around Barbara's suite, recollecting the chaotic events of last night. Just as he thought he was going to prove to Gwen that her mother's never changed, Iris proved him wrong. Now, Stan is in prison and according to Will's friend (who's a guard), Stan keeps asking for him. Barbara reasons that the only way to retreat from his plan is to cut ties with Stan totally. Without Stan to reveal Will's connection the fake robbery, he's in the clear. Later, Iris comes by Will and Gwen's and promises to make it brief. She explains to Will that she set up Stan so he could see once and for all that she's a different woman now than the pushy, controlling schemer she used to be. She hopes that now, Will can see her as a devoted, loving mother-in-law. Will apologizes (shocking Gwen) to Iris that he underestimated her. Hallie wakes up from her nap and Will urges Iris to go get her granddaugher. While Iris soothes Hallie's cries, Gwen comments that she never thought she could be as proud of Will as she is right now. She voices her happiness that she found such an honest, trusting husband and promises to never say such cruel things like she did the other night ever again. Meanwhile, Stan persuades Will's friend the guard to send Will a note... As Stan hands the guard the note, it reads..."I forgot to disable the cameras. Woopsy!"
  12. Susan sits waiting at a candlelit table at Mona Lisa. She eyes her watch and reasons that Michael must have gotten tied up with a patient. The waiter comes by and asks if her guest has arrived yet. Susan glances at her watch again and shakes her head, mumbling for her check. Once at home, Emily comes home from work and heads straight upstairs. Susan scolds her daughter and tells her that ignoring her mother won't make her disappear. Emily snaps "Aw shucks" and heads upstairs. Later, Michael drops by and apologizes for not being able to make their date due to a last minute emergency at the cancer center. Susan excuses him and reassures him that they can always take a raincheck. Paul notices his mother seems to be shaking and asks if Barbara's taken her medicine. As he gives her a pill, she takes it and thanks him. Paul explains that he came by to see if Barbara's heard from James. Barbara denies seeing his father, but Paul doesn't believe her. He warns her that if she keeps baiting James, he'll keep coming back. And if she turns him down, that's when things will get ugly. Barbara hisses that she can handle James and forbids Paul from telling anyone that James has come by. Rosanna comes by and tells Paul that she spoke with a friend of hers from the government and they're watching James's every move, waiting for him to slip. Barbara chimes in that nobody is ever watching James...they might think they are, but the joke is really on them. Rosanna shurgs that it was the only thing she could think of. Paul kisses her on the cheek and thanks her for her help as Barbara heads off to bed. Jade thanks the manager at Java for giving her a job and promises him that she won't let him down. On the way back to the house, Luke and Jade bump into Noah. Noah whines for Luke to hear him out, but Jade cuts in and tells Noah that anything he has to say to Luke, he can say to her. Noah continues on about how he never meant to hurt Luke and reminds Luke that his feelings of betrayal are exactly what Noah felt when Luek kept the apartment fiasco from him. Luke barks that the situations are totally different. Luke kept the fact they were denied the apartment because of Colonel Mayer from Noah because he didn't want to hurt him....because he loved him. But Noah, Luke elaborates, got drunk and slept with Carrie because he wanted to. Noah claims that he kept the truth about the tryst from Luke because he didn't want to hurt him, just like Luke did with him. However, Jade chimes in that if Noah really didn't want to hurt Luke, he should have never gotten a girl pregnant. Later, while Jade comforts Luke, Holden returns Jade's purse to her and tells her that she had a missed call from Mr. Taylor. Luke asks Jade why her adoptive dad would be calling, but Jade shrigs it off as nothing. Gwen comes home after a stressful day and sees Will is all dressed up. He tells her that they both need to work some things out so he's arranged for Alison to come and watch Hallie while they go out for a night on the town. Alison wishes them luck and shooes them out the door, promising Hallie will be fine with her Aunt Ali. As Will and Gwen enter Metro, they can see the crowd breaking up for the night. Gwen suggests they come at a better time another night, but Will insists they sit down. As Gwen goes to the ladies room, Will motions Stan from across the room. Hurriedly, he reminds Stan that the fake robbery is to be set up within a few minutes. He reminds Stan that Iris is to try a wrong combination for the safe, and after Gwen spies her mother trying to break into the safe, Stan should leave town immeidately with Iris. Stan nods and scurries off just moments before Gwen returns to Will at the bar. Jack and Margo finish hooking up the wire to Iris. They remind her that she needs to follow Stan's directions word for word. As soon as Stan hauls off with the loot, they'll get him. Iris nods and hopes that her cooperation with the investigation will show everyone in town that she's changed...especially her daughter and son-in-law. Stan calls Iris and sets up a meeting place. As Iris rounds the corner, Stan directs her to where the safe is. As Iris grabs the combination for the safe, Stan eyes his watch and looks for the door. Will reaches behind his chair and pulls out his phone. He looks at the time and tells Gwen how he recalls a good spot in the back. It's the perfect quiet spot for them to talk. Will reasons that the manager's on vacation and won't mind if they sit there. He looks around and sees that every waiter and bartender in the joint seems to be occupied. As Gwen rounds the corner, she sees two dark figures down the hall, crouched down. Will wonders aloud who it is and what they're doing. Following her husband's lead, Gwen turns the corner and is horrified when she sees that one of the people is her mother...breaking into the safe. Gwen, wounded, calls out her mother's name. Meanwhile, Jack and Margo hear everything going on as a furious Gwen confronts her mother. Sensing things going further south by the second, they opt to move in and get Stan while they can. As policemen ambush Stan, Will notices Margo unhooking a wire from Iris. A policeman thanks the manager for flying in from vacation to help them. Suddenly, Jack comes behind Will and Gwen and informs them that Iris did splendidly. Will's confused and asks Jack what's going on. Jack informs him that Stan apporached Iris about robbing Metro. Wanting to prove to Gwen and Will that she has really changed, Iris came to Jack and informed him of Stan's scheme. Calls were made and soon, Iris was helping them get Stan once and for all. Will locks eyes with a furious Stan who screams out "This wasn't the way it was supposed to go down, Munson!" Gwen turns to her husband, about to inquire about Stan's statement, when Iris approaches. She smiles and tells Gwen and Will that she hopes they believe her now. She hopes they know that she really has changed.
  13. Michael bumps into Susan in the break room. The two have a brief laugh about Susan seeing Michael's assets the other day, but Bob breaks up the two by sending Susan to pick on a patient. After work, Susan starts for home when Michael approaches her. He apologizes for the chaos that his wife has caused and assures her that after Doris's latest stunt, the judge will finally grant him a divorce. He admits that he's starting to fall for Susan, which makes her blush. Seeing the time, she excuses herself and Michael accuses her of avoiding him. Susan reasons that she's hesitant when it comes to falling in love with doctors since the last one she married ended up being a serial killer. Michael chuckles and asks her what she has planned for tonight. After a bit of hesitation, he invites her to dinner at his place. Susan reluctantly agrees, but tells Michael that this doesn't mean she's interested in him. As she walks to her car, Susan applauds herself for not letting on to Michael that she's crushing on him. Hearing a knock at the door, Barbara looks through the peephole to see who it is. Jack comes in and asks Barbara if she's changed her mind about staying somewhere else while James is on the prowl. Barbara denies that she needs babysitting and justifies that she can handle James. Jack asks if Barbara knows Carrie and she shakes her head until finally realizing that Carrie was the young woman from the opening. Barbara admits that Carrie seemed a bit clingy and questions Jack's motive for asking. Jack reveals that Carly found a photo of Jennifer in one of Carrie's photo albums and it took her by surprise. They both realize that Carrie is a sweet girl, but she's very guarded about her past. Barbara sympathizes with her and guesses that perhaps she and Jennifer knew one another at some point in time while Jennifer modeled in her younger years. After Jack leaves, Barbara hears James in the bedroom calling out to her. He cackles that he never thought Jack would leave. He was hoping they could talk. Barbara grows agitated and hollers out, demanding to know what James wants. James soothes her, assuring her that he only came to care for her while she undergoes treatment. Barbara hisses that he can quit acting like he cares because everyone knows James Stenbeck has no heart. Suddenly, Barbara hears Paul call out for his mother. She turns to find the window wide open and James nowhere to be seen. Not wanting to arouse suspsicion, she hurries into the living room to greet her son. Humming, Jade dashes down the stairs and calls out to Lily that she's going for a jog. Holden comes in after fiddling with the horses and asks if Luke has come down from his room yet. Lily shakes her head and shrugs that he's been through alot the fast few days; all he needs is a little time to himself. She recalls Luke telling her of his fight with Noah and hopes that Luke's heart can mend. Holden sees that Jade isn't around and asks Lily if she's talked to Jade. Lily admits that she talked to her, but she didn't say much. She only said that things didn't work out with the Taylors and she needed to come to Oakdale for a while to clear her head. Lily excuses herself to go help Kim at WOAK and reminds Holden to take the girls to ballet practice. As Holden and the girls ride to practice, he's concerned when he sees Natalie still has Jade's purse after playing dress up. He grabs it to put it up front with him and watches as Jade's phone rings. He notices the call is from Mr. Taylor, but before he can answer it, the call drops to a missed call. He quickly tucks the phone back into the purse, all the while wondering why Mr. Taylor was calling Jade. Back at the house, Jade finally gets Luke to open his door and he thanks her for sobering him up the other day. He tells her of his fight with Noah and remarks that he's done with men. Hearing the foolishness Noah was spewing reminded him why he was so hesitant to be with Noah...he could never be trusted, especially around Maddie. Jade laughs that she's done with men too and coaxes Luke into going to Java with her to see about getting a job. Fresh from his meeting with Barbara, Jack arrives at Carly's and learns Carrie's upstairs asleep. He tells Carly that Barbara doesn't know anything about the photo. She presumes Carrie met Jennifer at one time, but other than that, it's a wild goose chase. Carly thanks Jack for looking into it and smirks that Barbara's probably right. Looking at his watch, he remembers that he had to meet up with Margo and heads out. Later, Jack meets Margo and informs her that Stan is set to rob Metro tonight. Margo thanks Jack for helping her out, admitting that she likes having him around. Jack smiles, but tells Margo that he has no interest in re-joining the force anytime soon. Before leaving, Jack reminds her when Iris said the robbery is to take place and assures her that he'll be there to help her take Stan in. Blueprints and security information line Iris's concerns. Playing out her scheme, Iris fakes being proud of their robbery plans. Stan grabs Iris into a close hug and gushes about spending the weekend in paradise with her after they finish off Metro. Gwen comes by, but not wanting her to see anything for fear she might jeopardize the scheme, Iris shoves her outside. She comments that they just had the place sprayed for bugs and she doesn't want Gwen to get sick. Gwen weeps that she finally told Will about bringing Hallie to see her and he wasn't happy. Iris hugs her daughter and reveals that Will's concerns are well founded. Iris has claimed time and time again to change, but this time, she's sure Will will discover that zebras can change their tripes. Meanwhile, Will gets a call from Stan, reminding him to take Gwen out to eat at Metro later tonight. He assures Will that he'll have everything set up so that Gwen catches mommy dearest in the act of breaking into the safe. Will hangs up and wonders aloud if he's doing the right thing by showing his wife that her mother will never change.
  14. Bob is floored that his son would believe that he's got eyes for Susan again and tells Tom that he only wants what's best for Susan. Unfortunately, he doesn't think her cozying up to the new cancer specialist in town will be well liked by Michael's clingy soon to be ex. Tom reminds his father that Susan might be his colleague and his friend, but she's a big girl that can make her own decisions. Casey returns home to help Margo with supper, but realizes that his mom is out. He takes the break from his parents with joy and kicks back to relax. A knock comes at the door and he's stunned to see Sofie and Gabe on the other side. Sofie says that the photo shoot was amazing, but she had to come home and surprise him. Gabe thanks Sofie for her hard work and promises to get back in touch with her soon in regards to what they talked about. After he leaves, Casey asks Sofie what Gabe was talking about. Sofie directs him to the couch and tells him that while in Spain, she was approached by an elite modeling agency in Portugal and they're interested in signing her but only if she moves there. Casey forbids it, but Sofie tells Casey that she's already accepted the offer. She leaves next week. Casey becomes furious and tells Sofie not to wait up as he slams the door behind him. Carly arrives at the hospital and finds Carrie in a bucket of tears. As Carrie flips through old family photos, Carly sympathetically pats her on the back and asks if she can call anyone for her. Carrie sobs that she has no one; her dad is a pompous jerk and shunned her a long time ago. Carly apologizes for bringing the photo album and remarks that she meant to bring a photo album of the kids. She must have picked up Carrie's by mistake. As Carrie tucks it away, a photo falls to the floor. Carrie snaps for Carly not to touch it, but Carly already has the dropped photo in her hands. It's a picture of Jennifer. Carly's confused, but tucks it back in the album like she never saw it. The doctor comes in and tells Carrie she's free to go. As they gather her things, Carrie thanks Carly for being such a great friend. Carly nods and forces a smile, still baffled by the photo of Jennifer. Jack chuckles at Brad's accusation of jealousy. He smirks that he hopes things work out with him and Katie; but he knows from experience that Katie's a force to reckon with. Brad chimes in that he's ready for the challenge and bows up to Jack. Jack take his exit as Emma calms Brad down. Later, Jack arrives at the hospital and learns from a nurse that Carrie's been released. He goes to Carly's and she clues him in about the picture of Jennifer. Jack vows to figure it out, but Carly begs him to do it discreetly. She wants to find out why Carrie would have a picture of Jennifer, but she doesn't want her to find out that she knows about the picture. As Lyla yells at Michael to leave Oakdale, Margo calms her down. Neither her nor Katie tell their mother of Katie's engagement, fearing Lyla won't take it well. Michael learns from a deputy that Doris is being booked and will probably have to serve time for what she did. Michael's relieved and thanks Margo and Katie for all that they've done. Margo shocks him when she steps forward and tells him to take control of his life. He reasons that he has no control over his nutty wife, but Margo sternly replies that Michael's dysfunctional marriage has threatened her life and the lives of her mother and sister for the first and last time. As Margo, Katie, and Lyla leave, Katie turns to share a glance at her uncle. He mouths the words "Thank you" to her and she smiles. Gwen comes home and finds Will fast asleep. She tucks Hallie into bed and sings a lullaby to her, hushing her daughter to sleep and waking Will. Will rests his hand on Gwen's shoulder. Both stand in silence as they watch their daughter sleep. Will comments that he was worried about her; she lied and told him she was with her sister. Gwen stiffly replies that she went to the church and did some praying. She turns to face Will and tells him that for months now, she's been taking Hallie to see Iris. She knows Will says she hasn't changed, but Gwen explains that she knows something is different about her mother. She vows to show Will that her mother has changed. Will snps that zebras can't change their stripes. He admits that he's sickened that Gwen would let their daughter be tainted by anything so evil as Iris. Gwen hisses that this is all so ironic coming from the mouth of a former mental ward patient. Before she can take it back, Will storms out of the room and heads to bed. As Will takes up sleeping quarters on the couch again, Gwen looks at her husband longingly from the door of their bedroom. Tears flow down her face. As Noah gets ready for bed, he hears a knock at the door. It's Luke. Luke hustles in and angrily snaps that they need to talk. Noah reasons that he slept with Carrie because he was so hurt over the fact that Luke kept secrets from him; he should have been the first to know they were denied the apartment because of Noah's murderous father, not because of them being gay. But instead, Luke kept it from him and lied to his face. He was so hurt that he got drunk and after that, he lost his head. But by the time it was over, he was so eaten with guilt that he wanted to take it all back and just hold on to the one person in this world that loves him for him: Luke. Luke's not moved by his words and hisses that Noah's been lying to his face for months now, claiming Carrie was a classmate. He forgot to leave out the part about him f*cking her!! Luke shrugs that maybe he was wrong to give his heart to someone so soon. He should have known that this was going to happen when they first met and Noah was screwing Maddie. Noah pleads with Luke to see the situation how he sees it. Luke cries that he can't see it how Noah sees it because unlike Noah, he actually knows who he is. Noah obviously doesn't. As OneRepublic's "Stop and Stare" plays, Luke packs up his things and heads out of the apartment. Noah brings Luke into a passionate kiss, but Luke shove him away. Luke storms into the parking lot and drives away as Noah watches him. He flashes back to the good times he and Luke have experienced and gasps "This can't be the end". As Luke drives, he flashes back to all of Noah's lies. Unable to restrain his emotion, he pulls over and gets out. In the middle of nowhere on a long dark road, he screams from the top of his lungs. "WHY? WHY? WHY? Why does this have to be the end?" He gasps for air. It seems to him that in that instance, the world is closing in on him without mercy. [Fade out.]
  15. Angrily, Doris confronts Margo and Katie with a gun. Lyla overhears the commotion and calls the police. Meanwhile, Margo defends herself and her sister against Doris's allegations that they've been cozying up to Michael. Katie explains that Michael is their uncle. Doris refuses to believe it, saying that Michael never told her about his family. While Lyla watches, police swarm Doris and take her in. Margo and Katie are ratlled by what happened, but even more distressed when they can't find Lyla. As they search, Katie starts to tell Margo of her engagement, but Margo gets paged to the station. Meanwhile, at the police station, Lyla makes her way in and furiously confronts Doris and a newly arrived Michael. Just as her daughters walk in, Lyla yells to Michael that he can take his wife and leave town; Oakdale's better off without their dysfunctional relationship causing chaos in her family. Iris thanks Jack for meeting her on such short notice. Irritated, Jack asks what Iris has up her sleeve this time. Offended, she retorts that she has valuable information for him and thinks he should hear it. She informs him that Stan has planned a robbery of Metro and he's wanting her to help. Jack's confused as to why Iris is bringing this out into the open. In the past, she would have happily taken part. Iris explains that no matter how many time she has to say it, she's a changed woman. After going to rehab, she found the Lord and realizes now that her past misdeeds were shamefully troublesome. While Jack makes a few calls to set up a wire tap, Iris second guesses herself in her decision to turn Stan in. Later, Jack returns to Emma's and finds Emma and Brad hugging. Jack asks what's going on and Brad cheerily replies that he and Katie are getting married. Jack seems distant and doesn't directly respond to the issue. Brad takes the silence as more than just silence and accuses his brother of jealousy. At Will and Gwen's, Will comes down with a load of laundry. He shrugs when he sees Gwen still hasn't returned from Carly's. He thinks to himself that all this will pass once Gwen realizes that her mother's the same horrible person she was when she slithered into Oakdale for the first time. The doorbell rings and Will's stunned to see Carly on the other side of the door. She makes small talk before finally asking where Gwen is. Will explains that he thought she was with Carly for the day. He explains that ever since the grand opening, she hasn't spoken to him and he's been sleeping on the couch. Carly issues her sympathy and heads out. Meanwhile, Gwen searches for answers to her marital rift inside Luthers Corners church. She's startled when Carly comes in (after seeing her car outside) and kneels beside her sister. Gwen shrugs that if the whole religion thing can work for her mom, maybe she can try it too. Casey sulks as he walks past the Elegant Models studio. He presses his face against the glass, hoping to see if Sofie's returned from her trip to Spain. Tom comes up behind him and asks if he's heard from his girlfriend lately. Casey grimaces, and snaps that she and Gabe are probably too busy to check in. Tom asks Casey if he's sure he really wants this relationship with Sofie or if he's just trying to fill the hole Maddie left. Casey shamefully admits that even he's not sure. Tom smirks that if Casey's not sure, then what's to say Sofie isn't either? Later, Tom drops by to visit his dad and learns from Nancy that Kim and Bob have been fighting ever since the grand opening. Tom asks what they've been fighting about as a bedroom door slams and Kim comes dashing down the stairs. In a huff, she walks out. Bob makes his way down and informs Tom that Kim thinks he has eyes for Susan again. Bob's floored when his son replies by asking him if he does. Susan comes in after a tired day of working. Before she can relax, Emily comes in all smiles. She beams that her date with Dusty went smoothly and she hopes they can pick up where they left off. Susan reasons that Emily shouldn't get her hopes up; after all, she and Dusty just resumed talking. Emily barks that neither she nor Alison will ever understand her and runs upstairs. Susan hears abouth the commotion with Doris from a co-worker. Just as Susan starts to leave to check on Michael, Alison comes over and tells her mom to not even think about it. The last thing Michael needs is another woman to come to the station so Doris can accuse him of adultery again. Susan giggles at herself and remarks that she feels like a teenager again. Alison's happy to see her mom happy again and comments that it's been a long time coming.
  16. Holden lets Noah have it: for misleading his son, for deceiving the family, and for being so heartless as to leave Carrie all alone. Noah admits that what he did was stupid, but hopes Luke can see his side of things. Holde barks for Noah not to go anywhere near Luke. He snaps that he knew Noah would be trouble for Luke. Meanwhile, Lily runs into Luke and Jade outside of Java. Lily joins in Jade's crusade to get Luke sober. After an emotional ride home, Luke puts on a tough front in front of the girls and Ethan. Aaron comes by and the two have a heart to heart. Aaron promises that there are plenty of good guys that would want Luke, he just has to open his eyes and ask himself if he wants them or if he wants to continue a relationship with someone who broke his trust. Jack comes by Carly's and finds her packing some things to take to Carrie at the hospital. Jack chuckles at Sage's drawing that she made for Carrie and upon Carly's inquiry, reveals that the drawing reminded him of the time she frew him a picture after Sam was killed and Jack was in the hospital. Jack suggests Carly bring Carrie one of their photo albums so she can feel close to the kids while they spend the weekend at church camp. Carly likes the idea, but by mistake, picks up the photo album that J.J. saw in Carrie's room. Meanwhile, Jack gets a call from Iris and makes plans to meet her at Metro. While Henry and Vienna scan through business papers at the makeshift ViCE office (Brad's old office at WOAK), Brad and Katie exchange flirtacious snickers. They don't see Henry and Vienna run out for coffee. Kim comes in and informs them that numbers are down for Oakdale Now. Kim suggests Brad resume his position on the talk show, but Katie tells Kim that he's not interested. Brad surprises her though when he takes Kim's invitation to come back. Katie takes it as a positive sign. Feeding off her enthusiasm, Brad gets down on one knee and asks Katie to marry him. Although she's hesitant at the thought of getting married yet again, Katie finally agrees. Lyla and Margo are thrilled when they hear from Michael that Lyla's latest tests show that her treatment and extensive therapy is paying off. Michael apologizes to the ladies for the chaos at the opening and hopes they don't think any less of him because of Doris's accusations. He explains that ever since they divorced, his ex-wife has been certain that he has a lover and that's why the marriage ended. After Michael leaves, Lyla scoffs that she wouldn't put it past her ex brother in law to have a hussy or two under his belt. Lyla yawns and heads to bed as Katie calls Margo with good news. Elated, she volunteers to come right over. Katie doesn't know that someone's following her. As Katie enters into her mother's suite and hugs her sister, Doris emerges from the hall and pulls out a gun.
  17. Rosanna finally catches up to Paul at Barbara's door. They're relieved to see Barbara's fine and she asks what all the commotion is. Rosanna tells her that Paul pulled a gun on James, but when he said he had information about Cabot, he dashed out the door. Barbara scolds Paul for being so reckless and tells him that he should know better than anyone that James Stenbeck doesn't just go away because you want him to. Even in death, he still finds a way to resurface. Jack comes by and learns that James broke in earlier. Jack makes a few calls and makes arrangements for Barbara to spend the night somewhere else. Barbara refuses, saying that she's not going to live in fear. She's going to fight James like the cancer that's inside of her. Jade brings Luke a muffin and a bottled water in hopes of getting him to sober up. Luke can't believe that his cousin's back in town. Before he can ask about her, Jade asks Luke what happened with Noah. Luke cries that he's been noticing Noah drifting away for some time, but he never thought that his boyfriend would get a girl pregnant and then lie about it. Jade tells Luke that he should confront Noah and then maybe he'll have some peace as to why Noah did all of this. Luke tells her that nothing in this world can excuse a liar and a cheater. Jade looks at her cousin and asks if he thinks that about her. She cheated and she lied the last time she was in Oakdale, but the only reason her family was so forgiving was because they knew what all she had been through. Perhaps, she suggests, talking to Noah will let Luke see what led him to have sex with Carrie. Carly goes to the hospital in an attempt to cheer up Carrie. She brings the kids along and warns them that Carrie's in a very fragile state. Carrie's excited to see the kids and takes special time to thank Carly for everything she's done. Carly calls her on her goodbye speech and Carly asks why Carrie should leave Oakdale. She has everything she could ever want here...people that love her for who she is. While a nurse directs the kids to the soda machine, Carrie explains that she can't have everyone in Oakdale staring at her. Carly smiles, reminding Carrie that she has no one to answer to but herself. Carrie decides to stay in Oakdale, but stresses that she doesn't know how she'll handle Luke being mad at her. Carly tells her that what Carrie and Noah did was wrong, but Noah gave her no reason to think he was with someone. What they did was before Carrie ever knew Luke. Working in the flower beds per Emma's command, Alison and Aaron playfully fiddle with the dirt. Aaron claims that he had a blast the other night until James showed up. Alison fears that James's return could jeopardize her family. Aaron scoffs that James has been known to pick on the Snyders and hopes that this time, it's just a family visit. He remembers hearing that James came to check on Barbara, so perhaps he has no other dastardly deeds in mind. Alison asks if Aaron's heard anything from Caleb and he replies that his dad is gone on a business trip but is still toying with the idea of returning to Oakdale. Emma comes outside with some lemonade and tells them about Luke and Noah. Aaron comments that he doesn't think Luke will be lonely long; he has an admirer he doesn't even know he has. Emily catches up on some stories at The Enquirer offices. Dusty comes in with a load of paper work and tells her that she has until this weekend to do it all. Emily laughs, promising she'll have it done in an hour with work going as slow as it is. Dusty asks if Emily's written about the cancer center opening and she eyeballs him, reminding him that he asked to write it. Dusty grins that he changed his mind. He asks what Emily has planned after work and invites her to come see a movie with him. Emily asks if it's a date and Dusty terms it as an "after business hours meeting with popcorn". As he walks through the Oakdale square, Noah glances at a flyer for the cancer center opening. He yanks it down and crumbles it up, remembering the fallout after the night's festivities. He never imagined that his night with Carrie would come back to bite him in the butt. Lucinda emerges from Fashions and asks to speak with him. The two st on a bench and Lucinda sternly advises that Noah has alot of explaining to do. But first, she wants to thank him for his help at Worldwide. Without his help, they never would have been able to handle the mole crisis. Lucinda informs Noah that the vice president of WorldOne and his daughter Sherry are being investigated for fraud so they shouldn't be a problem anymore. Noah asks if Lucinda's mad at him for getting Carrie pregnant. Lucinda explains that she's not mad that he got a girl pregnant; that's his own drunken mistake. But as she continues, she explains that she is upset that Noah did it while he was still with Luke. He should have known Luke would find out and he should have never trampled over Luke's heart like he's done. Perhaps an apology is necessary, she calls out as she leaves Noah behind. Noah turns quickly and finds Holden standing right behind him. He sighs.
  18. Lily and Jade sit down at the kitchen table to talk. Jade explains that things didn't work out with her adoptive parents so she came back to Oakdale to get on her feet and decide what she wants to do with her life. Lily implies that she can get a job and live with her, Holden, and the kids. She's stunned when Jade turns her down. Jade says that the last time she was in Oakdale, she caused too much trouble. She doesn't want to be a burden. She's realized her imperfections and dealt with them accordingly; it's time to find a life of her own and quit having to rely on others for support. Lucinda comes in and informs Lily that they need to talk. She reminisces about the previous night and tells Lily that Noah had a one night stand with Carrie and it resulted in a pregnancy. Jade's baffled when she hears, not realizing that Luke and Noah are an item. Lily rushes out the door to search for Luke, but Lucinda stops her and tells her that Luke isn't himself today and has asked to be left alone. Lily worries that this heartbreak might make Luke return to alcohol as a support system. Little do they know, Jade has already left to track down her cousin. At Memorial, Carrie glances over and discovers that Noah spent the night with her. He tells her that he doesn't think he can face Luke after what he's done. Carrie's flabbergasted that Noah is gay and wonders why he slept with her if he already had a boyfriend. Noah explains that Luke kept something from him and it made him feel hurt and betrayed. He resorted to a fun night out with friends, and after that, he lost all logic. Carrie advises Noah to make things right with Luke. Noah refuses, citing that Carrie just lost a child. He's not leaving her side. Meanwhile, Lily finds Holden and tells him about Luke. Holden's furious and demands they go pay Noah a visit. Across town, Jade finds Luke drunk at Yo's. Brad comes into work and asks Katie where Kim is. Katie guesses that she's still recovering from the chaos at the cancer center's grand opening. Brad asks Katie what she has planned for the evening. She shrugs that she hasn't been in touch with Michael for a day or so and she's worried. Brad suggests they go track down Michael. Katie's flattered that Brad cares so much and agrees. Later, the two find Michael sipping a cup of coffee at Java. Katie's worried when she sees her uncle's trance-like state and asks what happened with Doris. She's confused as to why he kept it a secret that he was divorcing from his wife. Michael, agitated, snaps that none of this is Katie's concern. Shooing her away, he tells her that none of this should have happened; Doris has turned him into an adultress fool in the eyes of Oakdale. Katie tries to comfort him, but he gets up and walks out. Katie's hurt and leans on Brad for support. Across town, Rosanna tiredly begs Paul to put down the gun. She tells him that holding his father hostage in a hotel room overnight isn't going to solve anything. James smirks that Paul doesn't have the balls to shoot him, just like he didn't have the balls to get rid of any of his enemies. Paul yells at James to shut up and openly blames him for jeopardizing Barbara's health by his wicked entrance. James asserts that he only came to town to care for his family; it's obvious they don't know how to handle themselves when he's not around. Paul gets furious and acts like he's going to pull the trigger, but his last minute resistance makes James chuckle. James tells Rosanna and Paul that without him, they have nothing. Paul laughs that they have plenty, but James thinks otherwise. He teases Rosanna and Paul, saying that without him, he won't be able to tell them what he knows about Cabot. As Paul and Rosanna stare at each other in disbelief, James dashes out the door. Rosanna weeps that that sick bastard better not have done anything to Cabot as Paul chases after his father.
  19. How did you like the CarJack stuff, Peej? P.M. if you must.
  20. James returns to Oakdale and lets his presence be known at the grand opening. Barbara realizes that James came to town on her behalf. James and Paul have an altercation, but Rosanna breaks them up. James is glad to see that his son has finally snubbed his enemy Craig and nabbed the lady for himself. Paul retorts that Craig died in a plane crash and James smirks. James also issues his sympathy to Barbara about Hal and Jennifer, but tells her that with Hal out of the way, they can be together now. Barbara slaps James and starts screaming. Kim takes her home while Jack makes arrangements for security to be posted outside Barbara's room. Meanwhile, Carrie makes eye contact with James as he mouths the words "Thank you". Eventually, James leaves, promising to stay in town and comfort his love, Barbara. Stunned and frightened, Oakdale citizens return home with hesitance. Jade reasons with Holden not to call Lily because she doesn't plan on staying long. Holden asks why Jade returned and Jade clams up, promising to tell them everything in the morning. Meanwhile, Lily walks in on Lucinda spying on Sherry. Sherry thanks the mystery person for meeting her and Lucinda is shocked to see that it's the Vice President of WorldOne. Lucinda storms up to him and demands an explanation. Sherry explains that she and her father have been making preparations now for months to take over Worldwide. Sherry bluffs that Noah's along with the idea, but Noah's sudden arrival turns her lie around. Lucinda fires Sherry and tells her father that her attorneys will be going after him for everything he has. Noah later breaks the news to Luke that it's all over. Meanwhile, a scream goes out inside. Everyone that's left rushes around Carrie, lying unconcious on the floor. Susan has medical personnel take her downstairs where she plans on examinging her. Carly fears for the lives of Carrie and her unborn baby. Meanwhile, Jack learns from a nurse that things aren't looking good. Jack tries to prep Carly for the worst, but she snaps at him that this is all his fault. If he hadn't given Carrie such a hard time about her past, she never would have had the stress level that she had. Jack finds it ridiculous that Carly's blaming him. As they round the corner, a worried, ranting Carly is taken by surprise when Jack pulls her into a kiss. As Carly stand shocked, Jack replies that it's the only way he knew to calm her dramatic hysterics. He whispers that Carrie's going to be fine as Susan approaches and tells Carly that she's going in to examine Carrie. Katie, Lyla, and Margo have all returned to Lyla's suite and calmed down after the night's hectic festivities. Lyla and Margo are both stunned James has returned and recall that any time James returns, it's not a good sign of things to come. Katie's still in shock over discovering that Michael is married. She's shocked and hurt that he would keep something like that from her. She also blasts her mother for thinking that Michael is an adulterer. Lyla warns that there's alot about Michael that she doesn't know. Michael is capable of anything. Katie frowns and huffs that Lyla doesn't know him like she does. Margo breaks up the bickering and tells them that she has problems of her own. Casey's getting married to a two-timing slut. Lyla comically guesses "Emily?" to which all three ladies laugh. Margo laughs that if she were to ever discover Emily and Casey were an item, she'd go mentally insane. Back on the subject of James, Lyla promises that James probably had a hand in Oakdale before he ever appeared. James convinces one of the security guards posted at Barbara's door that he's her nurse. The guard lets him in and James walks up on a sleeping Barbara. Startled from her sleep, Barbara starts to scream, but James clasps her mouth and warns her not to strain her voice. Barbara asks James why he's doing this. She's lost the father of her children, her daughter, and now she's lost any pride she had left thanks to cancer. What else does James want from her? James replies that he simply wants "forever". He leaves and a shaken Barbara seeks refuge in the middle of the night at Kim's. Back at Dusty's house, he sits Emily down and asks how she's doing now that her ex-lover is back in town. Emily sits doe-eyed in her chair and Dusty chuckles that he wasn't so happy to see his once-supposed-father, either. Dusty guesses that James came back to town for a number of reasons and seeing that Barbara's alright is just at the beginning of the list. Lily returns home and frantically searches for Holden and the children. Holden tells Lily to calm down. Lily screams that James is back in town and she wants to make sure her children are untainted by the bastard's hands. Holden tells Lily that he has something to tell her, but before he can mutter another word, Lily busts into the girls' room and finds Jade sleeping soundly with Faith. Lily's stunned and wonders why her niece came back to town. Holden promises that he knows nothing, but urges his wife to let her sleep; they'll find out everything tomorrow. Carly leans against Jack's shoulder in the hospital waiting room, waiting to hear something from Susan. Carly mutters that Jack should be at home with the children, but he retorts that he wants to make sure everything is okay with Carrie and the baby. A somber Susan emerges and informs the two that Carrie has had a miscarriage. Susan prompts Carly to be easy when she goes in to visit. Jack asks what he can do and Susan replies that he can go find the baby's father. Susan hands him a sheet of paper. Written in fine print, the name "Noah Mayer" reads boldly. Jack's in utter disbelief. Gwen notices Will's distant behavior. She knows how frightened, angry, and confused her husband is. She hates to add to the stress. Finally, she concludes that she can't tell Will that she's been taking Hallie to see Iris for months now. Little does she know that Will's upset about James's return, but he's even more upset that he's been betrayed by his wife. He recalls seeing her with Hallie as she drove into Iris's. He wonders how she could jeopardize everything based on her mother's pleas for yet another chance when he knows that Iris will never change. Meanwhile, Iris again tells Stan that she will never help him in his plan to rob Metro. She cites it as a misdeed against God, which makes Stan laugh. He chuckles that he never saw Iris turning to the Lord. Iris retorts that she has and there's nothing Stan can say to change her mind. Stan smiles as he tells Iris that with the money they steal from Metro, she can do whatever she wants, whatever she wouldn't be able to afford. She can starts a trust fund for Hallie, she can donate it all to God, or she can spend it on shoes and earrings. Iris forces a smirk across her face. She knows how she can put Stan in his place and save her reputation from any futher harm at the same time. Rosanna checks on Paul and discovers that he has left his room, even though he promised not to go anywhere. She finally tracks him down at the Wagon Wheel thanks to a bellhop. It's there that she walks in on Paul pointing a gun at James. Jack arrives at Lucinda's and apologizes for coming so late. He heard from Holden that Noah and Luke are staying the night at Lucinda's. She invites him in, reasoning that he wants to speak with Noah about the mole at Worldwide. Jack hesitates before knocking on the door. Noah comes to the door and tells him that he needs to get to Memorial. He opts not to tell Noah she's miscarried in front of Luke. When Noah returns to bed to gather his things, Luke asks to tag along, wanting to be there for his boyfriend as he helps his friend. Not able to hold it in anymore, Noah snaps that it's his responsibility to check on Carrie and the baby. Luke raises up in the bed and asks, "What baby? And why is it your responsibility?" Noah never answers and escapes to Memorial. Luke follows in his car, determined to find out once and for all what's going on. Deep in his mind, he knows. But he chooses to ignore his inner impulses. At the hospital, Carly thanks Noah for coming. A nurse spots Noah and walks over. "Are you the father?" Noah shamefully nods yes as Luke watches him walk away. He angrily wipes tears from his face. Out the door, past Carly's soothing voice, he hurries outside. He can't breathe. His anxiety heightens when he sees Lucinda emerge from the parking lot. He crumbles in his gradnmother's arms, crying tears of anger, shame, disappointment, confusion, heartbreak, and disgust. Now, he knows. Fade out.
  21. It took a while, but we finally made it! Thanks to all my loyal readers (members or commenters or not) for entrusting me to tell you stories from my side of the "world". It means alot to me. Episode co-written by my good friend and better internet half, P.J. WHO: The denizens of Oakdale, Illinois WHERE: The Grand Opening of the Oakdale Memorial Cancer Center WHAT: A black-tie affair WHEN: A quiet June night, Episode 100 Luke and Carrie arrive separately. When they meet up, Carrie admits surprise at the invitation---she got the impression he didn't like her. Luke makes an excuse---Noah will be occupied with WW business most of the night, and Noah suggested they get to know one another. Luke tries to get her to open up a little, mentioning he found out that she works with Carly. Smoothly, Carrie admits working at WOAK, but sulls up when Luke asks what brought her to Oakdale. As Will ushers Barbara into the room, tears of joy run from her face when she sees a plaque on the wall, informing all who enter that this site is dedicated to Jennifer and Hal. Will himself chokes up, but holds his tears in when he sees Gwen approaching. Will can sense the tension and before asking for a private moment with his wife, he warns Barbara not to strain her voice too much. The doctor told her today that she can start talking again, but don't push it. Barbara smiles empathatically, assuring her son she won't. As she saunters over to the table where she's sitting, she catches sight of Carly and Wagner entering. Wagner introduces himself, but gets cut short by a business call. Barbara thanks Carly for coming and Carly retorts that she wouldn't have missed this for the world. Kim approaches and tells Barbara that they'll be calling her up to give a very brief speech, introducing Michael. As Barbara begins to take her leave, Carrie accidentally spills her punch, inadvertently splashing Barbara with some. Luke tries to calm the situation, seeing how distraught both women are about the incident. Carrie apologizes, as Barbara fumes that Carrie should watch where she's going. In a huff, Barbara storms off. Luke sees tears swelling in Carrie's eyes and promises that she did nothing wrong. Accidents happen. Carrie lightly taps her growing bump and shamefully smirks that he can say that again. Luke, however, is too busy spying on a newly arrived Noah and Sherry to notice Carrie's growing bump or hear her words. Carrie urges Luke to go make himself known, just as Lucinda comes behind him and tells him that making himself known would be the worst possible mistake he could make. As Luke, Carrie, and Lucinda watch on, Noah pulls out a chair for Sherry who keeps blabbing about her relatives in Minnesota. Jokingly, Noah states that he doesn't think that they've gotten to "meet the parents" status yet. Sherry giggles, pulling Noah into an impromptu kiss. She turns around and coldly eyeballs Luke, reporting to Noah that someone sure knows how to stare. When Noah looks up, he sees Luke walking away from the party. He excuses himself and tells Sherry that he has to go check on something. Sherry smirks as she watches Noah walk away. Will and Gwen stand beside a splendid ice sculpture encasing the new logo of the cancer center. Will asks Gwen what prompted her to come. Gwen explains that she left Hallie with a sitter for the night and thought that a nice night to themselves would be good for a change. Will coldly asks if the babysitter has short brown hair, a grating New Jersey accent, and a criminal record that keeps on talking. Gwen scoots back, shocked at the acidity of her husband's voice. Will exclaims that he needs to leave before he blows his cool, leaving a flustered Gwen behind. Carly approaches and asks what that was all about. Gwen reveals that she's been taking Hallie to see Iris behind Will's back and she thinks he knows. Carly suggests that lies are no good for a marriage, citing personal experience. If Gwen wants to keep Will, Gwen needs to tell all. Outside, Noah chases after Luke and admits that although he kissed Sherry, it meant nothing. Luke denies he's upset about the kiss; he just hates feeling like he's thirteen again and sneaking around. Noah explains that it'll all be over soon, which makes Luke roll his eyes in contempt. Noah returns to the table and realizes the next step he needs to take in order to uncover Sherry as the mole. He tells Sherry that Worldwide is planning on securing a million dollar account tonight with UniverseOne after Lucinda speaks with the vice president. After a moment or two of small talk, Sherry excuses herself to the ladies room and rounds the corner. Flipping out her cell phone, she sends a message to someone telling them to meet her outside on the terrace. Carly smiles as she watches Wagner approaching. Wagner apologizes and says that he has some urgent matters that need to be taken care of back at his office. Carly's smile turns upside down and she excuses him with a peck on the cheek, thanking him for bringing her. Jack approaches as Wagner walks away and jokes that Carly must have scared Wagner off by telling him her ex-husband was here. Irritated, Carly hisses that Wagner left for business and exclaims that she didn't think Jack would make it tonight since he's always hated these formal events. Reaching back for two glasses of champagne, Jack chuckles that Emma pushed him to attend. He denies he "hates" these events---as long as the evening ends on a good note. "Your bribes were the best", he whispers in her ear. Carly flushes red, remembering nights when they had stumbled into the house and made love after parties like these. Dry-mouthed, Carly shoves the glass back into his hand and hastily retreats. Running onto the terrace, she brushes right past Lily. Lily stops her and asks where she's off to in such a hurry. Carly musters courage and snaps that she knew she should have never come tonight. Lily invites her good friend to sit down and tells her that Holden couldn't attend tonight either. Carly hypothetically asks Lily why Jack always acts like her husband. He's constantly coming over unannounced, picking up the kids whenever the need bites him, and dishing out advice to her left and right. Lily laughs and tells her that Jack is just doing what he's always known. Being a policeman, he's taught to protect people. And with Carly, the rule goes above and beyond since he's known her and even fathered children with her. Carly thanks Lily, but explains that she still needs a breath of fresh air. Will approaches the doors of Metro, eyeing his watch and recalling the venom that he just spewed to his wife. He's now more confident than ever that this fake robbery will make Gwen see Iris for what she truly is...a bloodsucking leech that will never change. Stan cowers behind some bushes and Will invotes him over. "Ya got the blueprints", Stan asks. Will nods yes and hands them over, reminding him that by the end of the week, he wants both him and his no-good sidekick as far from Oakdale as possible. He promises that the money will be deposited in an offshore account as soon as they're out of sight. Stan shakes his hand and heads back home to fill Iris in on his great plans for robbing Metro. Luke walks back in, finally content with Noah's promise that all this sneaking around will be over soon. After searching around, he can't find Carrie and reasons that she must have gone to the ladies' room. Meanwhile, Carrie finds Barbara backstage, prepping for her brief introduction of Michael. Carrie cautiously approaches Barbara and again apologizes. But she assures the accident was just that---an accident, not a deliberate act on anyone's part. Impressed with the girl's forthrightness, Barbara accepts the gesture and declines an offer to pay for the dry cleaning. Shyly, Carrie admits to admiring Barbara's designs and career through the years. Expecting to be hit up for advice, Barbara starts to excuse herself, but Carrie insists she has to return to her date, and leaves. Luke hides as he watches Carrie stop behind a large group of potted palms, pulls out her cell phone and call someone. He tries to get closer, but Jack pulls him out of hiding and asks jokingly if Luke's hiding from his grandmother. Jack explains that she's probably giving some potential client an earful somewhere in the building. Casey grimaces as Gabe pulls Sophie away for publicity photos. When she returns, she excitedly announces Gabe booked her a photo shoot in Spain. When Casey suggests going with her, she cautions that it's a work trip and that Gabe will be there. Casey storms off, accusing Sophie of being blind to Gabe's true intentions. Margo pulls Sophie aside and asks for an explanation. Sophie attributes Casey's reaction to jealousy, and feeling like a prisoner in his parents' house. Taking offense, Margo barks that she needs to stop selfishly playing two men against each other. Casey doesn't deserve to be hurt again after losing Maddie. His heart still hasn't completely healed. Sophie spits back that it's time Margo let Casey live his own life, suggesting that Margo only issued her motherly warning because she'd rather see Casey with Maddie than her. As Paul watches Gabe whore himself to the media, Rosanna approaches. After she realizes that it's Paul she's approaching, she makes a last minute turn toward the exit. Paul, much too quick, has been watching Rosanna, too. He rushes after her and grabs her by the arm. Rosanna slings her arm free and threatens to have security called at the drop of a hat. Paul chuckles that this isn't her shindig, but Rosanna defends herself, throwing her board member status at Paul. He quickly retreats and tells Rosanna that if she wants to play hardball, he's willing to take anything she dishes out for a second chance. Fuming, Rosanna splashes her drink in his face and storms out. Bob and Susan circulate at the party, mingling and accepting congratulations on the cancer center. Kim surprises them both by praising Susan's efforts in getting the center up and running. She even suggests doing a feature for Oakdale Now. Later, Susan privately thanks Kim for putting up a good front in public. Kim tells her it's not an act...she hopes this will ultimately save Barbara's life, and she'd thank anyone who made that possible. As Bob and Susan pose for pictures, Susan makes light of walking in on Michael as he was getting ready. Bob huffs that the last thing Susan needs in her life is an accident like Michael. Kim overhears and assumes Bob's jealous of Susan's obvious attraction to the new doctor in town. Alison and Aaron arrive almost at the same time as Emily and Dusty. Both couples seem to be hesitant of approaching the other until Susan walks up, cheerfully annoucing her excitement in seeing them. Susan sees that Dusty and Emily have come together and incorrectly assumes they're back together. Dusty chuckles that he and Emily have decided to cover the opening together; that's all. Aaron sees Kevin sitting all by himself and excuses himself. Aaron takes a seat and observes that he thought Kevin had moved. Kevin sighs that he returned to Oakdale because of his parents, but he was making the wrong assumptions when he thought he and Luke could just pick up where they left off. Aaron recalls his little brother having a crush on Kevin and judging from Kevin's lackluster attitude and harsh Noah-hate that he'd rather be more than friends with Luke. Kevin fills in the blanks for Aaron, recalling that after he left Oakdale, he came to terms with his feelings for Luke. He pushed him away because he felt like what he was doing was wrong. But now that Kevin's come out to his parents, all he has left to do is come out to Luke. Aaron raises his eyebrow and pats Kevin empathatically on the back. Carly sees Brad from across the way and sneaks up behind him, asking where that tramp of a girlfriend of his is. Brad reminds Carly that she shouldn't resort to name calling. Carly remembers the hell that Katie put her family through and openly wishes nothing but misery for the bimbo homewrecker. Brad argues that Katie's different now. Seeing that Brad truly cares for her, Carly backs off and apologizes for being so cruel. Brad jokes that since Vienna and Henry have gone to secure advertisers for ViCE cosmetics, he was the last resort when Katie approached him for a date. When Brad reveals that he's been thinking of popping the question to Katie, Carly urges him to go for it. Brad snickers and wonders aloud if Carly just wants them to get married so she won't have to worry about Katie returning to Jack. Carly hisses that she and Jack are through, but voices her pleasure in wanting to never have to gag again at the sight of Jack and Katie together. Brad laughs. Katie tries to reassure Michael, who's nervously messing up the opening line of his prepared remarks. Katie tries to coach him, helpfully suggesting he imagine all the people in their underwear. Michael tries to laugh, but he admits he's always feared speaking in front of large groups, and he expects a disaster. After Barbara introduces "the man who made it all possible, the man who's saved my life", Michael takes the stage. He glimpses into the crowd past all the applauding hands and sees Doris sneering at him from the corner. He begins his speech, cutting it down to the essentials. Before he can finish, though, Doris barrels through the crowd. Loudly denouncing him as a cheating sonofabitch and slapping divorce papers into Michael's chest, she continues that he should be ashamed of himself for leaving her destitute, when he's off committing adultery. Katie's shocked and confused at the accusations. Michael roughly grabs Doris' arm and drags her away as Susan takes the stage and tries to calm the blabbering audience. Katie follows her uncle, and hears him arguing with Doris. She makes her presence known, only to discover that the woman her uncle is fighting with is his estranged wife. Furiously, Doris lunges at Katie, blaming her for bonking her husband while he' still married. Stunned, Katie returns to the party, and gets another surprise when she sees Lyla, freshly returned from visiting Cricket. Katie starts to fill her in, but Lyla stops her saying she saw it herself. Katie's puzzled when Lyla says she's not surprised by the allegations--at all. At Lily and Holden's, a dark figure scoots through the yard undetected. A pull of the doorknob fails and the figure retreats to a bedroom window. After finally prying it open, the figure leaps in, startling the girls from their quite slumber. A hand tightly fumbles to cover Faith's mouth as she screams for help. The lights go on and Holden emerges with a baseball bat, but the true surprise comes when the girls look up and find their cousin Jade standing in the middle of their room. Meanwhile, Barbara comes down from the podium and meets Carrie at the bottom of the stage. Carrie compliments her on her eloquent words and reveals that she even mustered a tear or two herself while Barbara was speaking. Barbara thanks her and heads back to her table. Suffering from a dizzy spell, she grasps at Carrie's arm to steady herself. Barbara snaps that she's fine but Carrie insists that she take a seat. Paul sees his mother in distress and runs to help her. Paul suggests they go home and Barbara nods, accepting her son's invitation to rest. Suddenly, the lights go out. As the hospital drowns in a blanket of darkness, a deep, malevolent voice wickedly calls out, "Don't leave, Barbara...we've yet to say hello...."
  22. Wow, Drew, you're good.
  23. Luke and Noah walk hand in hand through Oakdale when suddenly, Noah pulls away. He reasons that if Sherry saw them together, it would blow everything. Carrie walks by and Luke stops her, inviting his boyfriend's "classmate" to the grand opening of the cancer ward as his date. Carrie smiles and says that she'd love to go. After she leaves, Noah becomes agitated that Luke invited Carrie to be his date. Luke reasons that if Noah's going with Sherry, he should go with a female to avoid raising any suspicion from Sherry. Later, Emma scolds Jack for staying home and not attending the grand opening of the cancer ward. She volunteers to watch the kids and Jack gladly accepts her offer. Luke comes in and tells Emma that he needs her to iron his tux for the night, as he found a date with Noah's classmate named Carrie. Jack whirls around, shocked that Luke knows Carrie. As Jack drills Luke for information about Carrie, Luke's own doubts resurface as he tells his uncle that he never found out anything about Carrie or her past. Noah rushes in to tell Luke they're going to be late, inadvertently running into the middle of one of Jack's questions about Carrie. Feeling the tension rising, his heart racing, and his feet sinking, Noah rushes Luke out the door before Jack can ask anything else that might strengthen Luke's already heightened curiousity. Carrie comes in and tells Carly that she won't be able to watch the kids tonight because she agreed to go to the opening with a friend. Carly applauds her for getting herself out there and asks who the friend is. Carrie giggles, asserting that they're just friends and nothing else. Carly almost faints when she hears the name "Luke Snyder" come from Carrie's mouth. Avoiding her questions, Carrie rushes up the stairs past Carly's questioning eyes. Jack comes in and announces that Emma has agreed to keep the kids. Carly thanks Jack for finding the kids a place to stay, mentioning that she thought she was in deep manure when Carrie just cancelled for her date with Luke. Jack's baffled, and Carly tells Jack that she doesn't know anything more than he does. But what Carrie does is Carrie's business, Carly warns. Jack fiddles around, avoiding his reason for coming over. Carly, noticing his behavior, asks him what he came over for. Jack finally gathers up the courage to ask Carly to accompany him to the opening tonight, but his first word is silenced by a horn honking outside. Carly sticks her head through the door and motions to her mystery guest that she's coming and turns to gather her things. Jack, in a daze, asks Carly what's going on. Carly shrugs, forcing a slight smile across her face, and calmly replies that she's going to the opening with a newly-returned Wagner. She turns and closes the door, but not before reminding a doe-eyed Jack to lock the door on his way out. Michael answers the door, a towel hanging just below his waist, when Susan appears. Susan chuckles at Michael's dress code as he hurries to put something on. Michael trips on part of the towel, untying the loose knot from around his waist, and showing Susan everything he has to offer. Quickly wrapping a sheet around his waist, he chuckles and apologizes for the peep show. Speechless, Susan hands Michael some forms to sign saying that Memorial's cancer ward is fully legal and meets requirements. Susan rushes out the door, thanking Michael for his time and promising to see Michael tonight at the grand opening. Smirking, Michael charms, "Hopefully not any more of me than what you just saw" before Susan closes the door. Later, Michael runs into Java for a quick cup of coffee, all the way reciting his speech for the opening ceremonies. Katie comes out and cheerfully chirps that she hopes Michael has his speech down pat. Michael nervously fidgets around, sending a signal to Katie that her uncle is beyond lost. Katie giggles and sits Michael down, offering to help him memorize his speech. Meanwhile, outside, Doris watches Katie laugh and place her hand on Michael's arm. Fuming, Doris marches off. Lily emerges from the shower and starts blowdrying her hair. Holden glides up behind her and caresses her neck with kisses. His hand moves down below her belly button, exploring into other parts. As Lily lays her neck back, he gently kisses her neck and nibbles on her ear. Lily giggles, reminding Holden that if she wasn't ticklish right there and if she didn't have a million things to do right now, they would be continuing this in the bedroom. Holden keeps on, despite the loud howling of the blowdryer. He sets her down on the bathroom rug and smothers her in kisses. Lily unzips his pants and pulls them down, exposing his tight muscular butt. As he gently pushes himself into her, Lily moans and the camera pans up to reveal two smeared handprints going downward in the steam-stained bathroom mirror. Later, Holden and Lily emerge from the bathroom, joking and smiling. Luke walks in with his tux and Lily comments on how sharp he looks. He blushes, thanking his mom for the compliment. He asks what has his parents with such big grins and Lily replies that she and Holden just had some lovely one on one time. Luke scrunches his face in disgust and laughs. He comments how happy the family is now and says that it hasn't been this great in a long time. All three recall the trials of the past few years, excitedly welcoming the happy silence that has filled their dramatic lives. Paul knocks on Rosanna's door, but the gardener tells him that Ms. Cabot just left. Not knowing where to look, Paul returns to his suite and is stunned to find Rosanna waiting for him in the hallway. Rosanna reasons that she left something over here the other day when she dropped him off after his flat tire. Paul tries to make small talk, but Rosanna's short orders cause him to finally call her out. Paul pleads that he was a fool to believe Meg was carrying his baby. He was a fool to not see her countless lies. And he was a fool to think that Rosanna would every intentionally hurt Meg or the baby she was carrying. Rosanna sighs in aggravation and huffs that Paul isn't going to persuade her decision. She's done with Paul. Paul leans against the door, his hand pressed against and blocking Rosanna's only menthod of exiting his suite. He reaches down and grabs Rosanna into a kiss. Rosanna's body stiffens, her arm pushing Paul away, resisting his advances. Eventually, though, Rosanna loosens her body and welcomes the kiss. Paul looks into her eyes, breathlessly whispering that she can't let this get away; she's a liar if she thinks this connection doesn't exist. Rosanna angrily barges past Paul, swinging the door open and huffing that she knew this was a mistake. Outside, Rosanna gets a call and confirms to someone that she's a chairman of the new cancer ward and will be attending tonight. As Paul runs into his room to get ready, Rosanna hangs up the phone and gently touches her lip, recalling the kiss that just happened. As she scolds herself for letting Paul get to her like that, she finally snaps out of it, removes her fingers from her moistened lips, re-gathers her bearings, and walks away, deadset on never communicating with Paul Ryan ever again.
  24. Her head hanging low reading a chart, Susan inadvertently runs into Bob. Bob chuckles that Susan's shift ended an hour ago. Susan explains that she just had a mother go into premature labor and she doesn't trust the other doctor to handle the patient as well because she knows the mother. Bob orders Susan to go home and get plenty of reast, assuring her that she has a big night tomorrow night at the grand opening of Memorial's cancer ward. As soon as Susan turns her key in the door, Alison greets her. Alison explains that she saw a light on as she drove by and decided to come in and wait so the two of them could talk. They sit down and Alison starts off by commenting on the akward apology that Aaron and Emily exchanged earlier. Alison fears Aaron's not really over his anger. Susan assures her that he might take some time getting over his anger, but she doesn't think Alison has anything to worry about. When talk shifts to the grand opening, Alison says that she's not going because Emily will be there covering for the Intruder. Susan scolds Alison, telling her that if she wants Aaron to forgive and forget, she has to do the same as well. Her problems with Emily will always be there..it's called sibling rivalry. Susan continues, reminding Alison that the only reason Emily didn't seek some sort of justice for Aaron's crime was to keep the peace between her and her sister. Alison agrees to appear and promises that she'll be civil with Emily...for her mother's sake and for Aaron's. Michael walks into the police station and asks to speak with Lt. Hughes. Margo emerges and Michael tells her about Doris snooping around and informs his step-niece that he thinks his soon to be ex-wife tried to kill him by running him off the road. Margo makes a call and learns that the evidence report just came in. The red paint found on Michael's car matches the same paint that's found on Ford Mustangs. Michael yelps that it's exactly what Doris drives. Margo tells him that she'll get on it first thing in the morning. Later, Margo sees Lisa outside the door and welcomes her in. Lisa tells Margo that something's been troubling her for a while but she didn't want to say anything because she feared she might be instigating. Upon Margo's invitation to spill the beans, Lisa tells Margo that a woman came into Fashions last week and was asking all sorts of questions about Margo and Michael. She never bought anything. She just came in, asked, and left. Margo's assures Lisa that there's nothing going on and promises to look into it. After Lisa leaves, Margo concludes that the mystery woman could be Doris. Lily and Faith stroll through the horse pasture at the Snyder farm. Faith whines that her legs are killing her and demands to know what Lily brought her all the way out here for. It's dark, the mosquitoes are swallowing her body parts whole, and the smell is less than flattering. Lily giggles and tells her that they'll be there in a minute. The two approach an old oak tree and look up at the stars, resting their heads on the trunk of the tree. Lily tells her daughter that when she was young, she had a lot of problems with her mother, too. She always felt mistreated and neglected. Her mother seemed too busy with board meetings and rarely went to any of her school plays. Faith mumbles that the situations are completely different. Lily leans forward and tells Faith that she might not be the perfect mom, but she tries to be the best she can be. She wants to see her children grow and prosper and she wants to be there for them. Lily recalls that even when she was struggling with her own issues earlier this year, she tried being there for Faith. Now, she wants to be there for Faith again. She knows that she put her family in danger by looking into Craig's death, but now she wants to make it right. All she needs is for her children to trust her. The crickets chirp through the piercing silence until finally, Faith apologizes to her mom. She reasons that she knows her mom loves her, but alot of times, she feels 20th on a list of her mom's priorities. Through tears, Lily promises to try and be a better mother for her, Luke, Natalie, and Ethan. Sofie cries to Gwen that Casey said some hurtful things about her time with Cole and all she wants to do is just hold Hallie and try and remember the one good thing about him. As Hallie stirs in her crib, Sofie and Gwen watch on. Sofie wishes that she weren't so dependent on Hallie, but Gwen understands why she got upset. Gwen tells Sofie that she has to go to bed, but invites Sofie to come with her to the grand opening of the cancer ward tomorrow night. Perhaps, Gwen suggests, it'll take Sofie's mind off of things. Will brushes past Sofie on her way out and asks Gwen what Sofie wanted. Gwen snaps "nothing" before heading into the bedroom and locking the door behind her. Forced to sleep on the couch, Will rests his head down and flashes back to meeting with Stan yesterday. Will hopes that once Iris is exposed, Gwen will see that she can never be trusted and run back to him. Meanwhile, Sofie quietly opens the door and finds Casey fast asleep in the bed. Sofie sits on the edge, taking off her shoes. She's startled when Casey mutters something in his sleep and rolls over, but he never wakes. Sofie turns around and stares at Casey, recalling his fight with Gabe. Sofie lays down beside a snoozing Casey, reminding herself that she loves Casey and if he loves her, he'll let her do what she wants with her life...modeling. Kevin makes mention of the noticeable tension between Noah and Luke, but Luke denies there's anything amiss in his relationship. Luke turns around and viciously asks Kevin what makes him think that he can just walk back into his life. Luke hisses that he had a crush on Kevin a while ago, but he ignored Luke's advances, and soon moved away. Now, Luke continues, he thinks he can just walk back into Luke's life without hesitation and suddenly, their friendship will be mended. Kevin replies that he only wants what's best for Luke and honestly, he doesn't see anything in Noah that Luke should fight for. Luke snaps that Kevin knows nothing about Noah and orders him out. Later, Noah returns home and tells his boyfriend that he and Sherry will be attending the grand opening of the cancer ward as a couple tomorrow night. Noah pleads for Luke to not get jealous or cut in...no matter what. Still fuming from his fight with Kevin, Luke just nods and turns over to sleep.
  25. Dusty, Alison, and Aaron all find themselves waiting for a fresh cup of coffee at Java. The three sit and talk for a while. Aaron's thankful when Alison tells him that Susan has informed her she's not pressing charges against him. Emily walks in and asks to speak with Aaron and he reluctantly obliges. Emily apologizes for writing the article on his parents and tells him something so personal should have never been written. Aaron accepts her apology and issues one of his own, even offering to pay for the damage to her offices once he gets a job. Emily smiles that she hopes they can be friends, but surprisingly, Aaron ignores her handshake gesture, telling her that it'll take a while for him to forgive her. Later, Emily and Dusty sit down at The Enquirer offices to discuss business matters and Emily mentions how hostile Aaron seemed. She continues that she doesn't think Aaron's over his anger quite yet. Sherry comes into work and Noah compliments her on her new hairdo. Both avoid talk of their date gone awry, as Noah thinks that if he confronts her about drugging him, it'll blow his cover. Little does he know that his cover's already blown as Sherry makes a call to a news organization and tells them that Lucinda only gave Noah his job because he's Luke's boyfriend. Later, Lucinda calls Sherry and Noah into her office and announces that they'll be trying to secure the UniverseOne account. Sherry makes some brillinat suggestions and later, Lucinda tells the vice president of Worldwide that she's starting to suspect someone else of being the mole. Meanwhile, Noah confides in Luke that he's worried he might not be able to con Sherry into confessing that she's the mole. Kevin swings by and Luke introduces Noah to his old friend. Immediately, Kevin senses a tension between Noah and Luke and once Noah leaves, calls Luke out on it. Margo calls Casey into the living room to join her and Tom. Casey knows it's about his fight with Gabe and figures Gabe is pressing charges. Margo stuns Casey when she tells him that he has nothing to fear as far as charges, but he did get in an altercation and his probation might be extended. Casey's fine with it, he says, as long as Gabe and Sofie steer clear of one another. Sofie comes downstairs and tells Casey that it's going to be hard to stay away from her boss. Tom and Margo leave to give the two some alone time. Sofie scolds Casey for fighting and tells him that he should have thought before he punched. Casey barks that what Gabe said to her was inappropriate. In turn, Sofie tells Casey that she can handle her self. Casey snaps back that she obviously doesn't, since her abusive boyfriend Cole had to be chased out of town before she finally let him go. Hurt, Sofie rushes out of the house, leaving Casey contemplating what he just said. As Will comes down the stairs, Will gets a call from the bookstore. He apologizes for running late and the bookstore manager tells Will that it's fine. They found a replacement for him. She tells Will that it's evident he has family problems right now, citing the PSA that just aired with his mother and Dr. Hughes announcing the grand opening of the cancer ward. Will thanks the manager for understanding. Gwen comes in and asks what's wrong. He's very short with her, which she picks up on. Again, Gwen asks if there's a problem and Will sarcastically says he's going for a walk before slamming the door. Outside, Will watches as Gwen sits down on the couch and contemplates what just happened. Later, at Barbara's, Will learns from his mom that the cancer ward's grand opening is tomorrow night and she needs a date. Will smiles, accepting her invitation. He also tells her about his brief fight with Gwen and Barbara writes that soon, everything is going to turn out for the better and Gwen will see Iris for what she truly is. Meanwhile, Gwen's startled when Sofie knocks on the door in tears. Brad, Vienna, Henry, and Katie all sit in a booth at Al's. Henry comments how well the current owner has done, remembering that he and Vienna had very trying times with this diner. Vienna gushes about how thrilled she is that ViCE did so well in its first week. Brad and Katie recall details of their trip to Miami as Henry and Vienna listen intently. Michael comes in to order some bagels and notices Katie sitting across the room. He wanders over and tells everyone that he expects to see them at the grand opening tomorrow night. While Vienna and Henry leave to make some calls about advertisers for ViCE, Katie, Brad, and Michael all discuss Lyla's good prognosis. Michael says that he'd love to see Lyla tomorrow night, but Katie informs him that she's out of town visiting Cricket and won't be back in time. She notices her uncle's mellow demeanor and later comments to Brad that she thinks Michael still has feelings for her mom. Brad makes light of the situation, telling her that he happens to like Lyla's daughter. Katie laughs that Margo's a married woman and he replies that he was talking about her.
