- ARTICLE: Nancy Lee Grahn Ceases Posting on X (Formerly Twitter), Joins Rival Platform Bluesky
A prominent fixture on X (formerly Twitter) since launching her account in March 2009, “General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) has announced that she is ceasing posting on the social media platform, effective immediately, citing Elon Musk, owner of the social media giant, as her reason. Although never referring to Musk by name, Grahn said in a statement posted to her more than 200,000 X followers on Wednesday, “I’ll no longer be posting on a platform controlled by a meglamanical oligarch now that r [sic] country has committed suicide. It feels unsafe.” In a separate post shared hours earlier, Grahn preemptively indicated she would be shutting down all of her social media accounts, saying, “I have done all I can do. I will be deleting all my social media in protection of my daughter. I’m so sorry. May God help us all.” Grahn’s earlier post came shortly after it was announced that former President Donald J. Trump had been declared President-elect Trump. However, in Grahn’s latest statement, she noted, “I’ll remain here solely to protect my name from being hijacked & will repost only. Plz connect with me on Threads, BlueSky, IG, FB & TikTok.” Following her last formal post on X, Grahn made her first post on Bluesky, one of the newest social media platforms created by former Twitter founder Jack Dorsey. “I am here now as I can no longer defend speaking on a site controlled by a dangerous meglamaniacal oligarch,” commented Grahn who has amassed several hundred followers in the brief time since launching her Bluesky account. “My pg, my rules so trump supporters will be blocked. This is a safe space 4 those of us in need of a place to commune with like hearts & minds & humor when we can find it again.” Late Wednesday afternoon, President Joseph R. Biden announced he had spoken to President-elect Trump after the 45th president received roughly 312 electoral college votes to 226 for Vice President Kamala Harris, who formally conceded the election to her Republican opponent via private phone call and an address to the nation. In the years since Trump’s first election in 2016, Grahn has been an active voice among daytime performers when it comes to politics, often voicing her opinion on various topics impacting American citizens, particularly women’s rights. In 2022, Grahn appeared on the red carpet at “The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” with the words “reproduction freedom” written over her chest area while holding a purse that had the words “bans off our bodies” written across it. At press time, Grahn’s X post has received over 11,000 viewers and garnered more than 300 likes. You can follow Grahn on Bluesky @nancyleegrahn.bsky.social. During the annual “Day of DAYS” fan event last Saturday, Peacock released an all-new promo previewing what’s to come on “Days of our Lives” as the series celebrates its 60th anniversary season. Featuring the returns of several fan favorites, including Martha Madison (Belle Black), Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), Christie Clark (Carrie Brady), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), Lamon Archey (Eli Grant), Sal Stowers (Lani Price-Grant), Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton), Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan), Maree Cheatham (Marie Horton) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady), among others, the daytime drama series will also see big revelations, intense drama, rekindled romance and a world of mystery. Celebrating its 15,000th episode on Monday, December 2, Salem wakes up to the news that Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes) has passed away. Watch as friends and family gather to remember one of the most iconic faces to grace the series. After years of the family keeping the details from him, look for Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) to finally learn that his father, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), raped his mother, making him the child of rape. The news is just one of several reasons that someone is out for revenge against the elder DiMera who is shown getting shot by an unknown assailant. Of course, before that all goes down, it looks like EJ and Belle pick up where they left off romantically. Speaking of romance, it’s Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Ava (Tamara Braun), JJ (Casey Moss) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez), and Phillip (John Paul Lavoisier) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein), the latter of which leads to a potential triangle as Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) declares Stephanie is the only one for him. Other romance partners fans can look to are Leo (Greg Rikaart) and Javi (Al Calderon), Tate (Leo Howard) declaring his love for Holly (Ashley Puzemis), Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantù) announcing their engagement. Meanwhile, Johnny and Chanel (Raven Bowerns) decide to take another chance at creating a child together. Lastly, Hope is looking forward to Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) walking back into their lives after he was last seen getting shot by his son, Shawn. 11/05/2024 Solution: Unlimited storage. 5MB per upload.- ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Joins Australia’s 10 Play Lineup Starting New Year’s Day
Already home to some of the biggest soaps in the world, including U.S.-based “The Young and the Restless,” “Days of our Lives” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” along with the locally produced “Neighbours,” among others, Australia’s 10 Play streaming service will be adding “General Hospital” to its lineup of entertainment programming beginning Wednesday, January 1, 2025 (New Year’s Day). Unlike “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless,” which are available as part of 10 Play’s “Fast-Tracked” option, wherein episodes are available in Australia the same day they are released in the United States, all-new episodes of “General Hospital” will be released within days of the show’s U.S. broadcast. As part of its deal with Disney, the Paramount Global-owned 10 Play will provide a catch-up option for viewers who’ve missed out on what’s been happening on the series during its current 62nd season, which began airing in September on Disney-owned ABC and Hulu. The series premiered on April 1, 1963 and has since become the longest-running American daytime drama series still in production. At press time, there were 317 fast-tracked episodes available for “The Bold and the Beautiful,” 231 fast-tracked episodes available for “Days of our Lives” and 119 fast-tracked episodes available for “The Young and the Restless.” That said, only “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Neighbours” air on Network 10, the linear network counterpart of 10 Play. The acquisition by 10 Play for “General Hospital” rebroadcasts marks the first time since June 17, 2011 that the daytime drama series will be available for viewing in the Australian market. For the first time in 50 years, music’s biggest night, “The GRAMMYS,” will be heading to a new home when ABC, Hulu and Disney+ assume broadcast and streaming rights to the annual awards show. Under a new 10-year global deal with the Recording Academy that begins in 2027, The Walt Disney Company-owned platforms will not only simulcast the “The GRAMMYS” ceremony but will also be the exclusive home for multiple GRAMMY-branded music specials and new programming opportunities for audiences worldwide, each produced by the Recording Academy. Already home to a multitude of event programming across entertainment and sports, including “The Oscars,” “The CMA Awards” and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” among others, ABC, in particular, will be the place to watch marquee television with the addition of “The Grammys” as the first year of the deal will see the network broadcasting both “The Oscars” and Super Bowl LXI. “As The Walt Disney Company combines forces with The Recording Academy to open this exciting new chapter in the history of ‘The GRAMMYS,’ we do so with pride and gratitude,” said Dana Walden, Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman. “Live events have never been more important to our culture and industry, and we just acquired one of the crown jewels, adding to our portfolio of world-class programming across all genres.” “We are completely thrilled to be bringing ‘The GRAMMYS’ and other new music programming to the Disney ecosystem,” said Harvey Mason Jr., Recording Academy CEO. “We are grateful to our long-standing partners at CBS and now honored to be joining with Disney, an iconic company where creators have always been at the forefront. This partnership represents another important milestone in the Academy’s transformation and growth, and strengthens our ability to fulfill our mission of uplifting and serving music people around the world.” The announcement follows a series of notable achievements by The Recording Academy: the addition of 3,000 new women voting members; an announcement of the Academy’s global expansion of its mission; the enactment of over a dozen pro-creator laws at the state and federal levels, championed by Academy members; two consecutive GRAMMY telecasts with substantial ratings growth; and recognition by Fast Company on its Most Innovative Companies list. So, one of the reasons the show is starting to tape on Friday, November 1, instead of the originally reported November 4, is due to Election Day. Since many in the cast, among other staffers, don't live in Georgia full-time they wouldn't be able to vote in their designated areas on November 5 (Election Day). Fascinating! I knew "Generations" was always touted as being groundbreaking with its predominantly Black cast, but as the comparisons start to build between it and BTG, I'm learning more and more about how much more impactful BTG is, especially in 2024.
