Watched this movie today. It had been a while since I saw it. It screams of it's era and the dialogue is a hoot. Constance Ford as Sandra Dee's mother is over the top camp. I laugh how she has the doctor check Sandra after she and Troy are out all night to see if she was still pure and Sandra screaming she wanted her father during her close up.

Some other LOL scenes are is when Constance slaps Sandra and knocks her into the aluminum x-mas tree and Sandra say's " Merry Christmas Mama". The tells her about the fur coat her father sent her. It should keep her warm in hotels....and when Sandra asks Troy " Have you been bad ? Bad with girls".......LOL

Other than Sandra, The entire main cast went on to do soaps.

Troy Donahue was so wooden. He acted the same in all his films.

Theme from a summer place (Percy Faith version)

Percy Faith recorded the most popular version of the tune, which spent an at-the-time record of nine consecutive weeks at number one on the still-young Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in early 1960.
