"The Shield" actor Michael Jace charged with murdering wife

I mostly remember him because of the controversy over his character's sexuality (supposedly he had issues with his character being gay, which helped lead to the character becoming ex-gay and settling down with a wife and child), but hadn't heard much about him in the last few years.

His wife's family is asking for money to help with her burial. I can't imagine what they're going through.
