ATWT Jake McKinnon Question

My all time favorite male character on all soaps is AW'/ATWT Jake McKinnon played by Tom Eplin. It pissed me off to no end when he was killed off on ATWT. It made me wish that he never came to Oakdale, that he and Vicky, the boys and the twins were happy in Bay City.

I was spoiler free at the time, so I never found out the specifics to his leaving. Was it his choice? Who was the HW when he left, was it Hogan or who was it? Anyone know?

Thank you in advance

Rumor had it that the only reason he was on ATWT was because his contract stipulated he get paid even if AW got cancelled.

I also heard both rumors...that ATWT didn't want him, and that he had no interest in remaining there. Laiman and Hogan were writing during his run.

That's what I heard too. If not for his contract with P&G and the fact that AW was canceled, he would've never been on ATWT in the first place.

Truthfully, I never liked him on ATWT anyway....
