Agreed but at the same time Trump is polling pretty well here. I think the state could actually go for him. Or not, we are the swingiest of swing states plus the 6th Circuit just killed the voter purge that the Repub SOS tried to do so right now we're a big question mark. I think Hillary will win but it would be fascinating if she managed to win without Ohio. I read that the Cincinnati Enquirer a conservative paper endorsed Clinton. Is it true that that area is very conservative as well? I don't think newspaper endorsements mean much anymore but I don't expect to see any major endorsements for Trump anyway.

The GOP are unified barely. That's why none of the names are campaigning for Trump including the ball-less wonder Paul Ryan. Yet all out of office GOP members are voting democratic. When I hear Jimmy Carter or Al Gore endorsing Trump then I'll worry. Call me when the Bush family and Kasich endorses which will never happen. Bush because their political careers are over and Kasich is positioning himself for 2020. Kasich is determined to be the one to pick up the pieces of the broken GOP. It's a good strategy. It's very interesting to see the conflict between Kasich and the state party. They are doing everything in their power to get him to fall in line and so far he seems willing to tell them to get bent. I think it's smart politics by Kasich and gives the appearance of going with his conscience, not that I think he has one. Portman seems to be doing fine without endorsing Trump so I fail to see the upside, unless there are state races dependent on it. I think Kasich and Portman are both smart by keeping their distance and I don't even like them.

I have given up caring what the MSM thinks. And honestly based on the polling on trust, I think most Americans have as well. Many news sources people get these days are from the internet. Not that that is all good because a lot of the news sites are biased but if you read a couple of credible right leaning sites and a couple of left leaning sites, that are not like Breitbart or PoliticsUSA on the left, you can get a decent balance. The Post has been better. Fahrenhold has done a fabulous job on the Trump foundation story and Eichenwald at Newsweek has done the same on the business ties, So there actually has been some decent journalism that has happened. The New York Times IMO is past redemption despite their attempts. I have not been more disillusioned with journalism as I have been with their coverage. Based on their reputation it's been a disgrace. Yes I know they have hated Clinton but that is no excuse. I have cancelled my subscription with them along with the Chicago Tribune(another story) I was actually shocked to see that piece on ABC about the Trump Russian financial ties. Never expected to see any real journalism on the main news channels anymore but we'll see if there is followup.

They're already spinning the Bushes not supporting him as bad for Hillary because it means the elites are behind her. The media will do anything for Trump. Well honestly as hard as I am on the MSM and they are scum I have not heard any of that. In fact I heard many people outraged at how Kasich was lambasted by that jackass Reince Preibus. Not that I think it's noble in any way. It's ratings. Keep in mind the trust in our MSM is worse that Hillary or Trump at around 15% so while its frustrating, neither dems or GOPers care. I have stopped llistening at all and only manage to read select articles from the Post and the NYT and of course Eichenwald;s stuff at Newsweek. As a former teacher in Chicago(CPS) I finally gave up my subscription of the Tribune due to it's comparing the teachers union to Kim Jon Un. I basically follow sites like TPM which are a hell of a lot more credible than anything else.

Except Stop and Frisk didn't work. The statistics years after proved that it had nothing to do with the improvements. Most were attributed to improved socioeconomic status and gentrification. This was from a study done by Princeton University after the fact. Plus the law was ruled unconstitutional in a federal court. So I hope he actually pushes it in the debates. It's a law that's against the law.

Let me guess. That a is white male right? And he can't be educated because he sounds like an idiot. He's voting for someone because he's a reality star? By the way the WSJ/NYT poll said enthusiasm by AA voters was way down and could impact turnout. I read a scathing response to that by @propane_jane who wants to know who these MSM white pollsters are talking to because HRC's campaign has been hitting AA media outlets hard and they have ALL been hammering on how important this year is. And even more people are fired up due to the birther *uckery. I know all the AA I know and work with are all fired up and voting. I am beginning to believe this idea that the MSM has absolutely no idea what goes on in real America, such as the denial of blatant racism and their fear of saying that "word". Does the news media even get their denials and coddling of Trump just gets people fired up even more? And by the way poll numbers in parts of Texas is causing HRC to send her soldiers there. TIm Kaine is now spending the weekend in Texas. Something I did not realize. Texas has in the last several elections had very very low voter turnout, only second to Louisiana. Lots of dems there(It makes sense based on the demographics) but there has never of course ever been any kind of GOTV campaign there until this election being done by the democrats there.

LMAO no. It's that LA TImes poll which has been proven to be faulty many times. I don't know why it keeps getting quoted or used. A polling expert at Princeton even took an indirect swipe at Nate Silver (not directly) saying anyone using that poll has questionable numbers because its based on an antiquated flawed approach. Next you will tell me blacks now support Trump because of his all white townhall meeting on Fox yesterday Stop giving bandwidth to the left wing tea party. They are every bit as nihilistic and hateful as the right. You can't talk to these people either. I was arguing with a Bernie supporter yesterday. Guess what a young white "progressive" male who kept insisting how he would be beating Trump by 30 points. I told him he was a fool that the same people who voted for Romney are voting for Trump and Bernie would not have anywhere near the support HRC does from minority voters. I asked him where Bernie's own black outreach was or Hispanic outreach and that the GOP would have gone after him accusing him of being a communist to smear him. These people are as looney at Trump voters and as white and elitist as well. I told him he can look in the mirror if Trump gets elected and civil liberties start getting curbed. On a side note This is sickening from a campaign manager in Youngstown for Trump. Apparently racism never existed before Obama https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/sep/22/trump-ohio-campaign-chair-no-racism-before-obama?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_b-gdnnews

That's a lot better than Nate Silver's 56.2%. Problem is Nate Silver hasn't gotten any new state level polling in since Hillary's health scare. All the new national polls released today had Hillary up between 5 and 8 points. The one new state poll - florida - has her up by 4 there.

Vee what is your opinion on Nate Silver this election season. I've been disappointed. When HRC was losing points nationally yet the state numbers didn't reflect that, he kept telling people the state polls take time to catch up. Now with HRC's national numbers rebounding rather well he seems like he's trolling HRC supporters saying she's still behind in key states. Someone also pointed out to him why Texas is not shown as being closer since that email sent by the texas governer to the local party members about Clinton and Trump running neck and neck and how he's worried about Texas turning Blue yet none of the polling Silver is including show texas as a tossup. In fact it's pretty solidly in trump's corner. A couple of people have claimed the polling system is even more flawed this season because it's not capturing an adequate amount of voting minorities, others continue to justify Silver. Although it did come out that CNN actually changed their own polling to intentionally overpoll republicans. He was true and blue in 2012 but now I am beginning to wonder if hes being used also to perpetrate "the close race" aspect.

The underreported potential blue state. As the MSM focuses on swing states wanting to create a horse race, Texas has a real chance of going blue this election. This is fricking amazing and not one person talks about it including Nate Silver who I am beginning to wonder about(even when Clinton was way ahead he was a Debbie downer) and he's been stoking the fears of democrats IMO. This is not one poll, this is based on an email from the current Governor of Texas who is worried about the state going blue. (forget no one talks about Georgia where Clinton is just 2 points behind or Arizona either) "Any other Republican would be winning by at least 10 points in the state of Texas, but it's Donald Trump,” said Manuel Medina, the Bexar County Democratic Party chairman who’s optimism is fed by raw data. “We have more than 1 million voters registered in Bexar County for the first time in the history of Bexar County. And you look at where they're registering at, and they're registering from places that traditionally vote democrat. It's younger people, it's Hispanic people, it's women.” http://www.khou.com/news/politics/gov-abbott-email-leak-reveals-gop-fear-of-texas-turning-blue/321936503?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I think the jig is up with Trump and the press. The MSM is still going to belittle Clinton and always make her less. I've accepted that. But I think people have to realize now how much racism still exists. People voting GOP and for them claiming not to be accepting of racism are liars and we have to accept that. And it's been a part of the GOP for years now. It's exposed people I know who are still voting for this clown for who they are and not who I thought they were. I don't think I can ever be friends with these people again. I cant accept they are any kind of angels of our better nature ever. The people who grew up in poverty and don't know better I think I can be more tolerant of. We need to accept this.

Anyone who isn't following needs to follow @Propane_Jane on twitter. She has an interesting perspective on how nothing has really changed in terms of demographics for this election other than less white voters, more minorities and more Latinos. Clinton is actually polling 11 points higher with Latino voters than Obama did in 2012. Her perspective is interesting in that the people voting for Trump are the same people who have voted GOP for years. And why are people being conned by the Main Stream White Media. She says that black and latino networks and radio have been lambasting Trump for months and that as much as he seems to be riling up white voters(a shrinking demographic) he's also having the same impact on black and latino voters. In fact latino voter registration this year is higher than it was in 2012. Romney got 27% of the latino vote in 2012. Trump is polling at around 16%. She doesn't get why white Clinton supporters are panicked because it's the same people who voted GOP for the past 50 years and its a shrinking demographic. She said the only thing demoralizing white liberal voters is that they blinded themselves to the racism that has existed in the GOP for years and why expect voters to change because the candidate is openly racist. The GOP has been racist for years. And as always, voter turnout is key. She thinks based on Trump's rhetoric the minority turnout is going to be higher than even under Obama 2008. Plus the demographics have shifted since 2008 - more minority voters.

Yeah I had heard that tonight and the person reporting it said it was in no place noteworthy which I thought was an off comment until they said that it could be a lot of things as you said, because it didn't necessarily happen somewhere you'd expect a bomb to be planted. They did also mention a lot of the changes made in NYC after 9/11 including the street cameras so if someone planted something they'd likely have an image of that person available at some point. They did say minor injuries which is great but yeah still too close if it does turn out to have been a bomb By the way in terms of voting, I guess they are again going to run a Rock the Vote campaign although this year they are going to call it. Ba-Rack the vote and get younger people to vote partially in honor of the first black president. I think they did something similar in 2008 and 2012 but this effort is supposed to be more wide spread. Also, Al Gore is going to be joining the campaign to help drive younger people to vote. He's well known as an environmentalist and they are going to use that aspect of his background, as younger people are mega concerned with the environment and climate change.

I don't know Vee sometimes I think too little too late for the media. They have been complicit for not months but years in helping stoke this birtherism story. I forced myself to stay away from all media yesterday but I watched Trump's "apology" and it made me cry. I am a single white female, late 30's, I can't claim to relate or understand how it is to be an African American, but the fact that this man stood up there in a matter of 20 seconds said it was over and HE settled it made me ill. Does this country still feel the big old white male sheriff is needed to validate anything. And it was a hit at HRC also not just because he lied about the fact she started it, but that HRC the woman couldn't finish something. So 2 nods to his racist sexist base. And then that idiot Chris Matthews gives him credit for apologizing? Seriously that was no apology and if anything the hate and divisiveness this movement caused deserves an apology to the American people. This view of America, once the "Shining light on the hill" is terrible. And still the cowards in the GOP who helped fester this ideology say NOTHING.

I find it hard to feel bad for CNN because they were the leaders on the pump up Trump routine so while I realize they were one of the most vocal and pissed about getting played today(making the entire event a Trump infomercial), their coverage of him has been a Trump infomercial for months. I hope this means the press continues to pound on him as well. WaPo has been doing a good job in recent weeks but that Newsweek story has been largely ignored for who knows why. That is the most scathing

I don't think either will have a solid win. My only consolation at this point is that the Clintons have been up against the wall before and they both work so much better when that happens. But I am tuning out also. I can't bear listening to the coddling and embracing of Trump at his press conference where he blames Hillary Clinton for starting the movement and then takes credit for proving Obama legit. BEcause that's all I expect to see yet the press will fawn all over him without seeing the damage all this is going to our country. Other than real Americans(like the Kahn's, the Flint Pastor, real people) does anyone in the press, the media, in our political hierarchy give a damn about this country. It seems know and to think someone like Donald Trump has convinced people he's a representative of the little man, sickens me. But I am now convinced that there is a whole lot more racism and bigotry in this country than ever before. Unless we get some leaders who will stand up and say it, I pray for the future of America. I'm trying to have faith in our voters but it gets harder every day. People get so beaten down by this it quells their enthusiasm.

So listening to the radio on the way to work this AM. Talk about Trump taxes and how Trump Jr. now says he won't release because it would deflect from daddy's campaign message. So nothing to do with audit. Unreal. And Michael Steele says tax returns are not an issue because American people don't care, yet polling shows 65% of American public cares. This is what our MSM has come to. I am a pessimist by nature but I am concluding Trump is going to win unless more and more people get their asses out and vote and I think we need bigger turnouts that Obama got in the minority communities to do this because some white people I work with don't like him but do want him elected just to blow up things period. They don't care that the stock market will crash, our economy will tank, our standing in the world will drop, our foreign policy will be a shambles, and we'd likely get into another war.

Technically obese? I think his weight is a lie anyway. No way does he only weight 235 pounds more like 270. But it begs to answer the question how this Dr. could have said he was the healthiest ever in the history of presidents if he's obese. And apparently it was the same quack who gave him the letter before who did his exam.

I don't know if they worked. I think the health scare was a concern so it will be interesting to see how people react once she's back and recovered. Hopefully she gets some empathy for it. The overall polling shows a drop although the Quinnipiac poll is about the same as it was the prior week. I think they actually said she gained some with white college educated men. But Nate Silver seems to be going off the deepend today lol.

Yes, she's working herself to death. If this woman is spending her last moments on earth and final breaths to save us from fascism, then maybe people should pay attention to the [!@#$%^&*] that matters. Ugh, this election is going to kill me. I don't mind the working herself to death part because I can interpret it to mean she is working really, really hard, and I think it's okay to wonder about her age. But I thought the HD TV comment was tacky as well as thinking there is something going on there... You're reading too much into it. If you ask me reading these shows that old men can be bitter little gossips also.
