Frankly I really want to understand why anyone here even gives the remotely possibility of Bill Clinton's affairs hurting her. Were any of you around then and know how her approval numbers went sky high during that time. And by a group of old white men who still live in the 1950's who have their own marital scandals. Has anyone even paid attention to the stuff going on with Ms. Universe and somehow these same old white men think it was a-ok to fat shame a woman. I must have missed all the support for that. And again like AA and Hispanics Clintons numbers with millinials are good. Where are all these hidden votes Trump is getting? 2000 was a nail biter and the demographics were not nearly as diverse as they are today..GWB got 44% of the latino vote. Someone point me to a poll showing Trump getting that. And while everyone pays attention to what the white MSM says about white people and they keep under polling AA and Latino's, Red Texas has a real chance of going purple this election. And ask yourself why not one MSM outlet is talking about this. In other news the Trump kids are partially behind the potential campaign team shift. They are blaming the team for hurting Trumps brand and the businesses. Mark Cuban is saying the brand is potentially permanently damaged as Trumps own words have driven a significant amount of business away. Occupancy at his hotels is down by 25% and businesses are avoiding his properties like the plague. He has said he would not be shocked to see Trump bankrupt if he loses in 5 to 7 years.

A colleague of mine in New York said that she was talking politics with some young latinos and a lot of the Cubans say their parents say they'll never vote for Clinton because Bill sent Elian Gonzales back to Cuba. This issue is going to cost Trump. It's a huge story in Miami. I've been following Ana Navarro on twitter and she said she's already been contacted by dozens of people, it's playing on the Latino stations in that area. Whether it translates to people defecting to Clinton or just not voting, either way it hurts him, particularly since he was just down in Miami meeting with Cuban Americans on taking a hard line with Cuba. I'll actually be interested in how Rubio plays this because this issue is not going away with that community. And the Ms. Universe story has been playing non stop on Telemundo and Univision so if the MSM believes this information is not reaching or resonating with Latino voters they are wrong. On a side note, Darren Hutchinson a Clinton campaign worker in Fl just posted this AM that Clinton's approval rating with AA in Florida is 85%, same as Obama.

I think it did matter. It mattered in effect because I think whenever she's in the public eye and people see her more and more, it get better for her. I don't think trump will win the next debate why? Because it's a town hall which she's much better in that than a standard debate format and an area he's weak in. I think the key is her campaign keeps her in focus and lets that campaign control the narrative. Part of the reason Trump is still here is because he's controlled it good vs bad. Right now her campaign is doing the right thing by getting people out after the debate to optimize the momentum. I watched part of a rally today with she and Bernie on MCNBC and yes they both got cheers but the biggest cheer was when Bernie mentioned her debate performance. So it resonated with people. Michelle Obama was in Philly and eviscerated Trump on the birther issue and his comments about woman. Kaine was in Virginia with Senator Warner. Biden was in Ohio yesterday. Michelle and the POTUS are supposed to be doing Florida this weekend. Now the funeral may change the POTUS's plans I am not sure.

No need to apologize and sorry I got defensive. Florida I think has been an issue with the Clinton campaign as I think they did defer spending on advertising to help them in the Latino community. I'm not convinced of the apathy in the AA community as much because of the turnout she got in the primary in Florida by AA in particular. I think there are valid points to be made about telling us what you'll do for us vs. Obama saying preserve my legacy by voting for her. That's justifiably not a good enough reason. I do think preventing fascism and normalization of racism and bigotry though actually should be. But I do think in lieu of recent events in terms of law enforcement in particular, they need a stronger case to present to minorities other than saying criminal justice and police training reform.

You might want to goto twitter and look at the shitstorm this article is causing. And Nina Turner is a disgruntled Bernie supporter. Check out Darren Hutchinson and Tom Watson. Black people are getting TIRED of being told they only show up when an when a black is running. This is the same narrative the press ran all primary season when Bernie became the hot ticket. I'm not suggesting not being concerned but all we can do it vote and support ALL OF US. I'm actually volunteering to work phone banks something I have NEVER done before rather than sit back and stress myself out along with 2 AA colleagues who are actually tied of hearing how unenthused they are by the press. I know what you mean, but it was about various groups in Florida (not just black voters), and had several different quotes (not Nina Turner), which is why I posted it. It wasn't some attempt on my part to say black voters don't care about supporting HIllary Clinton. Hutchinson is on twitter and actually is working in Florida and said he senses a lot of enthusiasm which was his point. That's not to say they don't have to work harder to engage voters, but some of this I believe to be the usual noise before an election. They said the same thing during the primaries and southern minorities(latinos and AA) came out in droves for Clinton. Where was the Bernie enthusiasm(which so many compared to Trump) there? He had large rallies etc and still got trounced by Clinton in the south.

Except she did talk about the emails. Really, nobody's buying the spin. They are trying to astroturf the hell out of it but it's not working. As for Benghazi, she herself mentioned sitting through 11 hours of questioning during the discussion of her stamina. After the butt-whooping she gave them then, I don't think they want to revisit that to her face. We aren't, and I doubt a lot of people care either way (most already have their minds made up), but the media easily succumbs to pressure, which is what this will be. There will be more of an effort next time to "prove" they are impartial by taking the hammer to Hillary and giving Trump a soft kiss. Did you watch the debate? She didn't win because they were harder on him. She won because she was prepared. If the media softballs him like the Lauer debacle just to "level" things they will get slammed again. Last night was a level playing field and if he had prepared there were opportunities for him to counter her. Nothing is going to change that. Even if they ask him his favorite color and ask her about her foundation(which I hope they do because I'd love to see the Trump foundation can of worms exposed on National TV) it won't matter. The CIC debacle was not just about Clinton being treated unfairly. The audience themselves were pissed because many of their questions were ignored and not answered period and with Trump in particular, he was not pressed. Nor did Holt really press him last night. It was HRC who mainly pushed his buttons.

She did answer the email question but as is a standard rule in a debate, answered the counter attack quickly and moved on. That's exactly what she did. Maybe if Trump kept his tax return responses short and didn't try to excuse the birther crap making it sound like he did the American people a service, he could have moved on as well. And I am frankly getting fricking TiRED of people talking about the lack of enthusiasm in this election. By who? So because that 10% of Bernie supporters are out there whining up a storm, other voters are not enthused? And please don't talk about lack of enthusiasm for HRC without talking about GOP voters who are not enthusiastic about Trump. He's leading with white working class but his support is less than Romney's was. African Americans, Latinos, Muslim Americans. Jewish Voters, LGBT people, and yes WOMEN are all enthusiastic. And does anyone know which demographic has the highest voter turnout percentage. BLACK WOMEN. I'm not saying it's not a close race but it was close with Obama too or presented to be. I'm trying to tune out the WHITE MSM and focus on the press, key websites, and alternate media sources like Telemundo, BET, WVON to give me a better perspective in terms of our minority populations and yes those outlets are motivated. Where the MSM wants to just focus on the WHITE voters who aren't voting and saying blacks won't vote due to their lives being crappy. GMAFB.

No one is buying this. No one. Holt was actually pretty restrained and emails, bhenghazi - maybe he didn't ask because it's been asked a zillion times already. And Trump has skirted the birther questions and tax returns so last night was the first time he was asked directly about those issues in months. And he failed. I don't see anyone excusing it. And she did get asked on email after he brought it up. If he was better prepared he might have been able to leverage those things like Hillary was able to leverage his past actions because she prepared. And now he's back to attacking Miss Universe. Even the hosts at Fox had their eyes rolling. Radacz and Cooper are much more forceful IMO than Holt so I expect both to get questioned more authoritatively.

I hate to tell you but your credibility is lacking when you reference Breitbart. And seriously do you really think the Trumpkins minds are changed? Who do you think is favoring his tweets? Why does favoring a tweet matter anyway? You really get yourself worked up over things that are not going to change. I tend to be a pessimist by nature, but there are just some things that really go beyond the scope of reasonableness. Everyone pretty much knows NAFTA has been a mixed bag. It's not all bad. And let her talk about her role as first lady as being the champion for getting Children's healthcare passed. Or how Clinton walked out of office with a surplus or how wages grew more during his administration then they had in 35 years.

No questions about emails other than a follow-up by Holt to Trump's nonsense about releasing his taxes if HRC releases her 33,000 deleted mails. She finally answered it in a few words that sounded fine and moved on. I am glad her team finally knows how to handle it. It's clear Trump thought he was going to be able to get away with how he ran over everyone in the GOP debates. I thought Holt did a decent job and while he didn't fact check he did probe further with Trump when he didn't answer the question or babbled on. I thought the Birther stuff really caught him and I would have thought his campaign would have worked on a better response for him than the babbling he did. The deflection to HRC didn't even work IMO because I doubt 99 percent of the people watching knows who Sydney Blumenthal is. Psst Roman: I agree with you on Chuck Todd

Well he'll be gone by tomorrow. Good riddance to Rudy and his decaying teeth They did, but then they loudly applauded her (and laughed at him) multiple times. Then it became a competition between the Trump holdouts near the end while the rest of the audience was heavily with Hillary. Watch it yourself. It was a slaughter. CNN: 18 of 20 undecideds say they will now vote for Hillary. And the guy at the end that spoke that Trump won the debate came off like an idiot.... Reporter: Why do you think that Trump won the debate? Guy/Man: Nothing/pause....I just want change.... Dumb......LOL He already had his mind made up before the debate. That's not undecided.

With Trump being a TV personality I was worried about image. Remember the verdict on the Kennedy/Nixon debates from those who watched it on TV vs Radio. And for all the gushing Quartermainefan does about Trump, he looked unhinged tonight. He tried to dominate but was shut down or rambled with stupidity when he asked for extra time. For all the complaints about HRC's lack of charisma, she was poised, thoughtful, humorous, and comfortable. And for Ms. Quartermaine, she looked beautiful. That red suit, I'll now call it her power suit, worked for her. So will Trump show for Debate number 2?

Carl I don't see anyone in the media awarding him anything. Maybe Fox. But this was a disaster. What impressed me the most. Obviously HRC is knowledgable. But on the stage she stood equally. The visual side by side really worked to her advantage. He actually kind of looked unbalanced next to her.

In terms of changing the direction of an election they have not mattered. That's factual. Romney beat Obama in the first debate and leveled the race out but that bounce only lasted a couple of weeks(and before the next debate happened Obama was back ahead). I think from reading articles the only race changing debate was Reagan/Carter in 1980. New polling(a crazy day) ■NBC: CLINTON +7 ■MONMOUTH: CLINTON +4 ■ECONOMIST: CLINTON +4 ■MARIST: CLINTON +7 ■AP: CLINTON +6 ■PEW: CLINTON +7 New Rueters/IPSOS poll has Clinton +4 in Florida

When I hear polling numbers skewed toward Trump I keep wondering where all these voters are coming from because aside from non college educated white males, Trump is losing every other demographic and he's even trailing Romney's numbers in that demographic. Hillary wins women, college educated white males, African Americans, Latinos(the last 2 by Obama margins) and every other demographic so I am not really sure how this leads to a Trump win. I remember Ohio being called for Romney the day before in 2012 and Obama winning it by 2 percentage points. So unless voter turnout is really low(and no I do not believe it will be Sorry and I think minority voters have even more at stake and know it) I just can't fathom it. As for the debate I don't think it's going to change how anyone feels. I don't buy that there are a zillion undecided and they are going to be swayed. Debates really have never made a difference other than in the short term. It might help confirm peoples decisions to vote the way they already are but in terms of swaying, no way. And we all know the media is going to declare Trump the winner, I am sure the scripts have already been written. CSpan by the way is going to do real time fact checking as the debate is going on for people who are interested.

He's not legit anymore IMO. It doesn't mean I don't think the race is close but use Daily Kos or TPM as your benchmark. And Silver has been questionable since that meeting he had with GOP donors a few weeks back. Yes he did. Also the polling released today? Ask yourself why polls taken just 2 days ago shows Clinton ahead by a comfortable margin and now she's behind? Polls don't change that drastically in 2 days. Someone challenged Silver on this. The Bloomberg poll now showing it dead even. It showed that Bloomberg changed their target audience, overpolling white male republicans, under polling Obama supporters. This was different from the prior poll then did just 2 days before. If people like Nate Silver are going to use polls consistently for their models they need to make sure each time the poll is taken they use the exact same demographic. If you are changing the voters you are targeting to lopside in one direction, its not equivalent. He doesn't want to see that as a flaw in his model, his choice. I do. The MSM wants this debate to be the biggest ever and the only way to do that is to now make people believe they are tied. And yes I do believe the polling was altered to show this narrative. It doesn't mean the race isn't close, but it means they want a dead heat. New polls I have seen today(state level) are now showing Clinton even in Iowa, ahead in NC, and ahead in Florida(a state I never believed she was behind in - too many latinos). I am telling you FOLLOW @PROPANE_JANE on twitter and it will give you a better perspective on how underpolled minority voters are and have been and how most of the polling controlled by the white media are using likely voters based on 2000 and 2004 numbers for minorities and not the 2008 or 2012 numbers. Anyone who thinks Black voters are less motivated this election than in 2008 and 2012 isn't watching the news or is not paying attention to the black media.

So people might remember a couple of weeks ago I asked about Nate Silver. Now people like TPM's Josh Marshall are also wondering what is going on with Silver and his narrative. Well this little piece of info. He basically met with GOP donors a couple of weeks ago and apparently since then a lot of people have somewhat quietly noticed his tone on social media has changed. When Josh Marshall, who I have a ton of respect for is questioning what's up with Nate Silver, I take note. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/295469-nate-silver-gives-gop-donors-a-closed-door-presentation#disqus_thread

IMO it won't even matter who's there....the lights will be dimmed so no one will be able to see who's in the audience. BUT....if the TVMSM starts showing shots of her every time HRC speaks...it will truly be a dark day for journalism and I PRAY they get blasted for it....like they should now for even covering this mess. Huff. Post has it as their number one story right now. Yeah I don't think it matters. But the media has been the ones playing it up as usual. So hopefully it gets put to the sideline where it belongs. So here is what I am tired of hearing how BLACK PEOPLE are not at all enthused about this election and turnout will be down. Uhm are people crazy. This is one group I could say with confidence will vote. HRC now has 94% of AA support in the recent polling - Obama level. I keep thinking the MSM is trying to depress people into not voting.

Yeah this is going to backfire bigtime. Hillary's popularity and sympathy numbers soared when Bill's liason's became public. Plus it's not going to fluster her one bit. She sat through 11 hours of being grilled by the GOP and looked refreshed while Gowdy looked like he was run over by a train. It's funny. The Cuban invite must have really gotten to Trump. She should have invited the Kahn's and Pastor Timmons also.

nobody IMPO owes anyone any explanation about who they deal with and why. the same people who call out those for being 'closed-minded' do the very same things themselves. Do you. if you're being rude....feel how you feel. and IMO you're right...if one doesn't want to put up with certain behaviors they don't have to. I somewhat agree with you but this is different IMO. This isn't about policy differences this is about genuine decency, respect, tolerance and on the opposite side fear mongering. I have a real problem despite policy differences(and they do exist) that race baiting and bigotry is now being made acceptable and excused using the fact we have become too politically correct and that even with policy differences a very high percentage of people in this country are ok with that. Ignoring fear mongering and hate rhetoric enables it and staying quiet or excusing it is the same thing the "good" Germans did under Hitler. And those who feel this doesn't or can't apply to them or is no big deal, should remember this First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. This by the way is exactly whats happening in Russia

It scares me to think people like Quartermainefan above think this is just about political differences. Blinded to the divisiveness he exploited for his benefit. Not only have those differences been highlighted and exploited they have led to an increase in hate crimes, blatant bigotry which I think we all hoped had disappeared from the mainstream and now it's ok. Those who believe this is just about political differences need to take a close look as to why so many are terrified of this man being elected. I may have disliked George Bush and believe his administration responsible for a lot of what we are still dealing with today, but I wasn't afraid. Imagine how the Jews felt with the election of Hitler and the gradual movement to curb their rights. People who can't see this coming are fooling themselves and if Trump were to win, this movement would escalate even moreso all over Europe. And yes I think extinction is possible because terrorism would be on the increase, we'd end up unleashing a nuclear bomb or two in the middle east, and then have several aimed at us and those 1.5 billion muslims around the world, including countries which doe have nuclear power(Pakistan) would take aim at us.

You seriously are not comparing staying friends with someone who has political differences and opinions different than people who are blatantly racist. Gee let's all tolerate racism and bigotry and just nod our heads and enable it. I guess all those Germans who turned their heads to genocide were a-ok also. I've had friends for years who are on the opposite end of the spectrum but I put a line in place when people are openly hostile. I was at a party 2 weeks ago and 2 of my best friends are a gay male couple. A friend of mind came up to me and said why did they let those "fags" come. Something I never thought I would hear from her. I said what exactly did you say. She said nothing and I walked away from her. And this is someone I thought I better of than that. Was she ashamed I doubt it. She had no qualms saying this to me knowing these two were good friends of mine, so pardon me for being outraged. And if you think this is just about political or irrelevant differences, I don't know what to say. Enablers to this kind of hatred don't get my pity either nor do people who act so impressed that the "carnival barker" has conned a lot of gullible Americans into believing in him.
