Anyone watch these shows? I absolutely love them. Ive watched NJ and Atlanta and now they are airing NY. Couldnt get into the Orange County. Too many blondes and fake boobs. Anyone else watching the current season of NY. Lots of drama. My favorites are Bethany and Kelly. I also like Jill although she bugs me. Alex does nothing for me and I cant stand Ramona and LuAnn

My BFF used to watch the one with Lisa Rinna & Eileen Davidson in it & I listened from the

    other room.

  4. I hope no one minds that I'm about to change the subject. Do you remember when DOOL did this story where John & this woman were jewel thieves? In RATSm at the time we decided that she reminded us of Emma Peel of the Avengers. (Diana Rigg) So, we gave ourselves nicknames, dubbing ourselves, "peels". That's how I became "shallotpeel", one who was adopted by "garlic peel". There are still "peels" running around. And, I just flat out never gave up my moniker. I liked how different it was. Thought you'd enjoy the anecdote. We can get so much out of our stories.

  5. On Facebook's "On This Day" today, harking back to Sept. 24, 2011, I made a post:

Of the AW, GL, ATWT & AMC finales, all bias aside, I gotta say ATWT's was the best.

Today, Sept. 24, 2019, I have to conclude that back then I had lost my flipping mind.

ATWT's Finale was a huge disappointment to me. AW's & GL's were my favorites.

And, I don't EVEN remember AMC's. Oy vey y'all, what was I thinking?!

    Hmm...

The administrator of Days Time Jump Spoilers sounds out a lot like a previous poster on SON.

Hint: She was a big fan of RC and JER, hated Higley and Tomlin and a lot of you thought she was a troll lol

Nah, her worst was Maeve on ATWT lol

I  had it in my head that both Aremid and Melaswen were islands but someone has told me that neither of them is, that Aremid is a town & Melaswen is a compound. What's what?

I would rank Judi's roles as such:

    1. GL's Beth Raines
    2. AW's Paulina
    3. DOOL's Adrienne
    4. Venice's character whose name I have forgotten
    5. DOOL's Bonnie
    6. ATWT's Maeve
  7. We had an AW fan event right after the show was over at Blondie's Sports Bar in "the city". Some of the actors were invited, there & present. We wanted to watch the last 2 shows on the huge screens there. But, Linda Dano hadn't reached a point where she could see it yet. So, we skipped that & visited instead. Early on, all of a sudden there was this amazing whisper campaign, "Look, it's Clarice!" repeated over & over. And, it was. She had seen a blurb in her local CT paper announcing the event & had come & joined us. None of us had seen her in years!

You are right, it was Beth. I was just on such a Cassie rant that I was typing her name everywhere!

God, I remember that. Everybody knew it was for his toy boy too, so really P&G should take its share of the blame for green-lighting a clearly ridiculous waste of money.

I also remember how blindingly, brightly lit the show was under Conboy.

Oh, yes, we are into Conboy now. And, said boy toy, Marty West, sold videos of himself as a wrestler out of his car! Plus, he had such a baby face & was so pudgy. Remember when he was putting the moves on someone & his standard issue gray sweatpants dropped almost to his knees? I shudder just to think of ConWest & Marty Boy, both!

That was Robert Kochman, who was the show's senior producer since 1992. He was fired, I believe, just a couple weeks into the Wheeler regime in 2004. I believe he tried to send the cast a farewell letter and PGP/Wheeler confiscated them or something.

    How tacky!

Last night I watched one of our AW Fan Videos from the Fan Bench in Central Park campaign, The Lovely Ada, Vol. 3. It hadn't been long since Mac's death & both Ada & Rachel were still very much thinking & talking about it & about him. Rachel had seen a man on an elevator & mistaken him for Mac, which had shaken her. Ada kept going shopping & buying Mac cardigan sweaters with buttons that she considered tacky. Ada tried to talk Rachel into getting rid of some of Mac's stuff but she's not ready for it yet. Then, Amanda & Rachel come in from the car the next day --- and Ada has died. Rachel just thought she was asleep. She squeezed Rachel's hand and she told her, "You're my best friend." Well, Rachel had not known that even though she knew that Ada was her best friend. People come in with food & best wishes, prepared for the memorial only to find that the airport has made a real mess of things. Ada's ashes are in Peoria, Illinios!

I'll cut AW a little slack- the show had a little over a month from the time it was cancelled to the filming of its last episode.  Carolyn the gorilla was a nod to the show's history- Cass, Cecile, and Felicia met Wallingford searching for David Thatcher's killer- Felicia and Wallingford were accidentally locked in Carolyn's cage.  I would have featured this earlier in the last week rather than in the last episode.  The video for Cass and Lila's wedding where each cast member spoke (to the fans), Grant being alive n Tanquir, Rachel's sweep of the Cory living room surrounded by pictures of her loved ones, and ending with Mac's last toast were all nice touches.  However, more flashbacks would have been preferred!

AWs and Guiding Light's endings were head and shoulders above As the World Turns ending- a show that had 9 months from cancellation to prepare filming its  last episode.  No flashbacks, veterans like Lisa treated  like a day player, all to end with a cheap plastic globe spinning on Dr. Bob's desk.  No nods to the show's history whatsoever.  Had AW and GL had 9 months from cancellation to prepare filming its  last episode- I believe we would have had more flashbacks and nods to past history.

Oh, sorry, I repeated some of what you'd already said. I remembered that Carolyn's handler was Sam but forgot about her mate being Richard. That video (to the fans) was divine. Wonder whose idea that was. A stroke of genius. And, Rachel moving through the pictures in the Cory living room, too. Mac's toast! I know so many people who were touched by Grant & Cindy in Tanquir but it left me cold. Plus, that line. What was it? "All's well that ends." Thank you, Rachel. I'll share just one line from the Back Issue of that tape day, "Executive Producer Christopher Goutman escorted a visibly pale and shaking Wyndham, the show's longest-running performer, to the set." Imagine. Besides the set dressing & props, etc. there were about 100 fans with their noses pressed against the windows & just as many floral bouquets from fans.

I still get upset how the sets looked so lavish on both GL and ATWT about 2004-05, and then went to the pits of hell around 2006 onwards.

I wanted the same too. I wanted Holly and Ed to get the final scene in the Bauer kitchen with them saying something impactful and powerful, and shutting out the lights before the cameras panned over outside the kitchen window to a shot of the lighthouse in the distance. The end. Reva and Josh shouldn't've gotten the final scene. That was meant for the Bauers.

Minus the gorilla, AW did have a decent finale, which was produced by Goutman and JP! I don't know what the f-ck happened to them following that b/c the final weeks of ATWT were abysmal. I don't hate the finale like most, but many of the characters' endings were horrid.

Wheeler had wanted Peter Simon back for some time and they did everything they could do to get him. They wanted PS's Ed Bauer back for the whole time that Sebastian was on. Simon felt he had been burned or mistreated both by Rauch first & then by Conboy & he was never one to suffer fools lightly. Courtney even tried to help out. So, Holly & Ed was definitely on Wheeler's wishlist. They even let that mess with their timing.

I met Laurence Lau at some soap event with my mom when I was around 11 or 12. This was during the height of Greg and Jenny, more towards their end. (LOVED THEM!) He was even cuter up close.

I met Larry Lau at a fan event when he was back as Jamie & he had been through some kind or level of rehab & he was dressed all in black - black tight jeans & black tight tshirt & black sneakers - and he had lost considerable weight & so he looked fantastic. Great sparkle to his eyes & very shiny blonde hair. He had a girlfriend with him & they were back in the courtesy room having a bit to eat & drink & I visited with them while I saw to it that they found what they needed before they went out & he signed autographs for a long while. He was very personable & very approachable. You couldn't help but like him!

Then, of course, not that it really relates but I never liked Russell Todd. But, I did enjoy Richard Bekins. I'm old enough to have liked him.

It was in one of those fan event courtesy rooms when I discovered that Anna Stuart could have easily been a counselor instead of an actor!

There was hardly a huge age difference between Bev and Carmen. At the time of the cancellation, Bev was 64. Carmen was 57.

Now, I don't know that he could've talked Bev into coming even if they had said yes. She was more introverted after her transplant. I don't know what her health was like. She just wanted to putter in her garden & play with her grandchild.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a good chance that she was somewhat self-concious about her health and maybe her looks, then.
