My favorite part today was when Julie asked Doug whether she had been a good wife. I teared up at that because I felt it was also Susan asking Bill.
Oh, wow.

So the pot doughnuts made a comeback.
I did love the Doug and Julie scenes though
Wait. We had pot doughnuts? I watched all of today and all live and I missed that. But, I do swear and declare that they made me think Julie had just died. Really shook me. Doug and Julie cannot die! I won't have it.
But, yes, their scenes were great. Best of all week. I continue to commend SSH for letting them make her look so bad! Not all actresses will do it.

And no, lol, the Salem Stalker deaths were not always planned to be reversed. It was permanent until fans complained and Corday freaked out. Anything else is a cover story. I believe Reid even said once, 'bullshít, they fired me!'
Frances was very clear about it. And, she thought flat-out that the reason Reilly was starting with her first literally was because he did not like her!

Filmmaker Ava DuVernay paid tribute to the late icon.
“Diahann Carroll walked this earth for 84 years and broke ground with every footstep. An icon. One of the all-time greats. She blazed trails through dense forests and elegantly left diamonds along the path for the rest of us to follow. Extraordinary life. Thank you, Ms. Carroll,” DuVernay said.
Yee-es! Way to go, Ava DuVernay!

A list from how we reacted to this terrible loss today:
legend, class, style, substance, admire, respect, first black bitch, icon, immortal, elevated language, impeccable speech, proper emphasis, Petronia Paley from AW, stunning, single greatest TV beauty, broke the color ceiling ...

Oh, double darnit. I was in Official Off Topic. How'd I get into Politics?!! Can I move myself or do I have to get an admin to do it for me?

It was the big adventure story of 1984-1985. Stefano was suffering from a brain tumor and if he recovered the prisms, which were supposed to be very powerful objects and joined them together, he would have been cured of his tumor.
"Many of the emotions that soap operas engage (in are) negative (ones). (Jean) Rouverol (1984) insists that soaps are about conflict and that the potential for conflict should fill every scene. She writes, There is conflict inherent in every human situation, and it is the head writer's task to recognize it and make use of it. Without conflict there is no drama." - Tune In, Log On, Nancy K. Baym, student of RATS; Jean Rouverol was a blacklisted author; after writing 3 books she returned to soaps & was hired as co-head writer for the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. Rouverol wrote scripts for Search for Tomorrow and As the World Turns as well.
The story of the 3 prisms definitely sounds like negative emotions.

She just didn't feel like Marah to me.
Martha Madison would have made a good Marah had GL continued.
I can see that.

I wasn't a fan of Lindsey's Marah either. Nothing against her (I knew her from Saved by the Bell: The New Class, at the time, LOL!) but after Laura Bell Bundy? No thanks. LOL. LBB was my favorite Marah. I also liked KJB's child Marah but it was jarring seeing her back in the role. I also always felt Lindsey's Marah was totally out of character and suffered from awful writing.
Oh, what a relief to find someone else who didn't like Lindsey's Marah! And, her pairing with Tony just made it worse, if you ask me. LBB was also my favorite.

To some extent, Marah Lewis. If you look at their credits, they did do alot of TV work afterward.
- Ashley Peldon (November 30, 1988 - March 27, 1991)
- Kimberly J. Brown (December 22, 1993 - July 13, 1998; November 17 - December 1, 2006)
- Lauren C. Mayhew (August 4, 1998 - June 23, 1999)
- Laura Bell Bundy (October 14, 1999 - October 29, 2001)
- Lindsey McKeon (November 6, 2001 - April 19, 2004)
And of course Laura Bell Bundy being on Broadway, and Kimberly J. Brown having alot of work...and several had movie appearances too.
I fell into that minority who just plain did not like Lindsey. Loved everyone else, basically.

The Official "Off Topic" Thread
Get to know other posters and speak of anything other than soap opera's, primetime shows or politics. Great way to make new friends, get to know one another, get advice, share life experiences and much more.
So, since the IMDB.com was so inaccurate earlier, being off by 3 years, is Wikipedia that inaccurate also?

Not sure what Rebecca Budig has done outside of daytimeBudig did one frankly oddball show: Skating With The Stars. Yes, just like Dancing with the Stars except Skating. It lasted one season. Primetime.

Then, more recently with Matt Bomer who got his start on GL, she was fantastic as his companion/landlady on White Collar, the USA drama.
A good friend of mine was the first person to interview Matt Bomer when he'd barely been in the city for a week. She adored him. The fans adored him, too, and his role as Ben. It was just too bad, too awfully bad, that ConWest had him commit suicide out of guilt.

She deserves credit for making for helping black women in entertainment see that they can be elegant and stylish.
Definitely deserves that credit! She literally broke a "color ceiling" with her first role, Julia. Then, more recently with Matt Bomer who got his start on GL, she was fantastic as his companion/landlady on White Collar, the USA drama.

As others have said, IMDB is not accurate. Rebecca was on Guiding Light for three years -- 1995 to 1998.
WOW! Is that ever wrong! Thank you.

Guiding Light is one of those soaps that wasn't buzzed about as one of the "popular" shows, especially during the 90's and up, but in more recent years when I talk to people about my love of soaps of yesteryear, I'm pleasantly surprised how many I encounter who were GL fans. More than anything else, they remember Reva.
@Gray Bunny I like what you are saying! But, personally, I thought Reva gobbled up more than her share of the show. I love Holly, Phillip, Beth, Mikey, Buzz, Harley, etc.

Oh, gosh, my computer headphones are detached & I can't see this till later when I can get them hooked back up. And, they're in such bad shape I may want to go get a replacement pair, even though we have far too much to do today, already!
