They'll discredit him the same way they discredit everyone else. They'll claim he's a secret Democrat. The MAGAts don't believe in consistency.

If you want to track the flight delays, go to the National Airspace System Status (NASS) website. It tracks delays in real time and refreshes every five minutes. You can already see things starting to snowball.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of those agents sold a tip to CNN. Trump doesn't think anything through so he doesn't seem to realize that he's turned this into a blood feud between him and law enforcement. They will come after him and his associates even harder now if they can.

Yeah, just to be clear I know Biden has issues. He's tried to run before and failed and as already said his role in the Thomas-Hill hearings makes him a nonstarter. I'm just startled by the baldfaced hostility. Biden is one of the few politicians I can think of who has learned from many of his past mistakes and tried to improve. He's a lifetime member of the NAACP and he's IMO a really good advocate in the battle against domestic violence and sexual assault (which doesn't excuse his tendency towards handsiness with women.) It's just that so many are acting like Biden is the enemy when he's just an imperfect ally.

I have to admit that I've been kind of surprised by the hostility directed towards Biden. I'm clear on his problematic past but I've always found him likable enough. But so many voters in the Dem base have gone full "no old white men ever again" and they look at him like the enemy. It's kind of disturbing to see the various forms of bigotry coming from people on the left, especially the ageism. Mind you I'm not shedding tears for white men but I think it's unwise to reject potential allies.

I know a lot of people are in this mode where this is going to be an "exciting" Democratic primary with a "spirited" exchange of ideas but frankly I'm dreading the whole circus. I'm really put off by a lot of what I'm seeing on the left. I'm tired of hearing how a lack of experience is a good thing and how all that matters is whether someone can clapback on Twitter. I'm not a hashtag voter. I want people with subject matter expertise and detailed plans and more and more I see people on the left who think this is all a reality show.

One of the big problems now is that we can't trust the press. The "legitimate" press failed so completely in 2016 and has continued to fail. And there's been no accountability.

Democracy didn't elect Trump. That was the Electoral College. The EC is an affront to democracy. The EC, gerrymandering, the gutting of the VRA, Citizens United, etc.... all of these are attacks on democracy.

That said truth is that a lot of people in this country, on both the right and the left, have decided they no longer believe in democracy.

I canceled Shaun King in 2016 when he posted on Facebook that his "council of advisers" told him that Hillary Clinton was planning to have him killed. He's completely unhinged and the way he exploits black pain is infuriating.

"The State of the Union is closed." Perfect messaging. This right here is why I prefer policy wonks and nerds instead of people good at Twitter beefs. The devil is in the details and Pelosi knows every loophole and every bit of procedure. ETA: This is perfect.

I heard a discussion on NPR where someone suggested that Trump's declaring a national emergency might make it easier to reopen the government. If Trump thinks that he can build his wall himself then there's no reason to keep the government shutdown. That jibes with what I've read from people versed in NPD. The best way to get a narcissist to back down is to give them a way of saving face.

This may make me sound like a crank but I think that the account that shared that video of her was actually a supporter of hers. There's no reason anyone would look at that video and see something wrong with it. It also served the purpose of taking a day when the new House was sworn in and Nancy Pelosi retook the gavel and made AOC the topic. She might as well have shared that video herself.

One of the things I hope people take away from this nightmare is just how weak and cowardly rich white men have proven to be when up against one of their own. Romney, Tillerson, Kelly, Cohn, etc... one after another these titans of industry act like kicked puppies. They are fine abusing women and POC and the middle class and the poor but the mere thought of Trump's tweets pretty much has them acting like they are afraid he stuff them in a locker. Part of the reason this country is such a joke now is because the entire world sees how we're run by people who are all swagger and no guts.

NBC was home to The Apprentice. They let Trump host SNL. They protected and promoted Matt Lauer. (Remember how he treated Hillary during the Commander-in-Chief forum?) NBC is deep, deep in the tank for Trump and always has been.

That was an elderly man with dementia and narcissistic personality disorder hopped up on adderall trying to deal with the fact that he's going to be exposed as a criminal. Yep. That's why I refuse to get all worked up when Trump attacks the press. The truth is the press failed to do its job during 2016 and very few have shown any accountability for themselves or their profession. I don't want anyone harmed or killed but I'm not taking to the barricades for the people who helped bring us here and still refuse to be held accountable for that.

Same about not getting Berner vibes from her. As for giving the GOP and media a gift, let's be honest, if we don't give them something they'll just make it up. Look at all the talk about Warren declaring. The media went right back to its Hillary playbook and the GOP went right back to being racist. I agree that the impeachment talk is a mistake. Anything that involves relying on the GOP to flip is DOA. Better to indict him and everyone around him.

The problem with Sanders and much of the progressive left is that they don't ever change tactics even when they get lousy feedback. Bernie's so clumsy at this because he doesn't listen when people tell him his messaging sucks.
