I have my issues with Biden but I believe he'd be a good president. He'd do a good job helping to repair our alliances around the world, he'd help reinstitute a lot of Obama's climate policy that Trump gutted, and given that he considered selling his house to help pay for his son's cancer treatment he could do wonders for the conversation around universal health care. Let's be honest, Trump was elected as revenge for Obama. The people stanning for Kamala Harris are basically doing it because they want to elect her as revenge for Trump. (Disclaimer: I think Harris is fantastic but I didn't want her to run.) With Obama we were poised to move this country into the future. Trump was elected to drag it back into the past. That thread points to something else I've been saying. All this talk of "pushing" the Democratic Party left is really just an attempt to gentrify it and refocus it on the economic priorities of white millennials at the expense of the civil rights of marginalized groups. Like it or not, any Dem nominee will have to win black voters in the south.

Some interesting information. I'm sharing the whole thread because rarely do we get to hear about people not on social media. The media wouldn't talk to black women in the south if their lives depended on it.

He's such a grifting fraud. He really thinks that he's going to get to walk up into the Dem primary and screws us all again but he has no idea what's coming. I'm already seeing people say they want to show up to his events with paper airplanes made out of tax forms.

I see some names missing from that list. Namely Tad Devine and Jill Stein.

That remark is a good example of why Biden has run twice and failed. The more he talks, the more the reflected shine from Obama wears off.

What a perfect response.

Damn gurl, you went dark! 😀 But as long as we're doing this, my favorite scenario is that he just strokes out in the middle of a rally. Second favorite is that he's struck by lightning on the golf course.

This is why I think Trump will be dead by 2020. Seriously, look at this guy. Without his makeup or costume, he's just another senile nursing home patient bellying up to the buffet.

I love watching people discover Sherrod Brown. I've been active in Ohio politics since I was a teenager and I remember the first time I saw him speak in the 90s at the ACLU annual dinner. I was ready to follow him through the gates of hell. I've occasionally disagreed with him on issues of trade (he leans a little too protectionist for my taste) but you'd be hard-pressed to find a more committed public servant.

Speaking of health care, this is why I love my Senator. He's taking the Medicare for all pink cloud talking point and showing how we can start helping people now.

Since Northam took office he expanded Medicare, increased funding for public transit, actually got some criminal justice reform passed (raised the felony level) and just gave a few thousand felons back their voting rights. This black woman is fine with him staying right where he is.

It's not the Clintons that Klobuchar has to worry about. It's those of us who voted for Hillary. Our votes were stolen from us and no one seems to acknowledge that. Dems who think they win points by crapping on Hillary (or Obama) are shooting themselves in the foot.

It's about regulation. Democrats in office means more regulation. We're here partially because the loss of the Fairness Doctrine, the change in FCC broadcast ownership rules, and the decimation of local journalism.

I'll admit it, I'm one of the people throwing shade at that Green New Deal. I read that paper and found it amateurish and shallow. I expected something with more depth instead it read like Princess Sparkle Pony's Earth Day Wish List.

Virginia is a red state turning blue. It's going to be messy.

I'm more tired of the "I knew blackface was wrong in the 80s" people who are using this to make themselves feel superior. We know that Chief Wahoo is a racist but people still wear that logo. I'm amazed at how many people are out here acting brand new.

That's the lefty superiority olympics. As soon as someone gets accused the "I am Spartacus" routine starts and anyone who doesn't follow the script gets condemned.

Not just Virginia. As long as people on the left insist on judging the past by present rules we're fucked.

Yeah, I don't know what made him think this was a good disclosure. But I'm talking about people on Twitter screaming "He thought about committing a hate crime!" Last I checked thoughts were just thoughts. If we start going after people for their thoughts then a whole lot of us are going to jail. I'm on enough blood pressure meds and anti-depressants without having to freak out about Liam Neeson's dark thoughts.

I'm seeing this with the Liam Neeson outrage. People say that Northam should've "defused" the photo and been honest about it but here's Liam Neeson trying to be honest about something he now knows was wrong and he's still being vilified. We can use these things as teachable moments if people would just take a breath.

Thank you for that. I'll be honest. The reaction to this situation has left me hopeless. Not because of Northam but because this is all predicated on adhering to a sanitized version of the 1980s. He's being torn down because of a lie people want to keep telling themselves.

No. This is all about showing the GOP that we're better than them. Superiority is heroin for the left.

That's exactly what's going on and once again the left is going to screw itself.

I'm livid at the people calling him a racist. There's no way a Sherrod Brown run for the presidency doesn't end with me in a strait jacket.
