  1. Hmm, that is a pretty tuneless song. When you think about the songs that made Britney a star, they were all really hummable, memorable tunes that little girls could sing effortlessly. This I listened to and would be hard pressed to repeat it back to you

also, her dancing skills have dropped considerably. They try to hide it with non stop cutting, but she isn't even half the dancer she used to be.

  2. So what do people think about Donald Trump wanting to run for president?

I don't think he'll ever run. He is an egomaniac who likes attention, but he is not going to put up with scrutiny into his private life. Also, his positions are all pretty much fake. Wasn't he pro choice just a few years ago?

I support a woman’s right to choose, but I am uncomfortable with the procedures. When Tim Russert asked me on Meet the Press if I would ban partial-birth abortion, my pro-choice instincts led me to say no. After the show, I consulted two doctors I respect and, upon learning more about this procedure, I have concluded that I would support a ban.

Plus, he has no experience in anything except building bankrupt casinos, so who needs that?

    Most importantly, his hair.

  3. all your items Carl are just illustrations of Republicanism in full bloom. They seek a return to a time when there were no unions, no social security, one even wants no public education dept, no hea;th care for the needy, no regulation of big business...you might as well just turn the calendar back to 1911.

  4. I don't know what link led me to this, but I have not heard thing song in forever..decades

the early 70s is such an interesting time for music. You have classic rock, the birth of disco, the whole singer/songwriter thing, and then stuff like this.

  5. I hate this type of thing. I know someone who isn't going to vote for Obama again because of this. But the whole let's kick the poor type of move will probably get him more votes than it loses.

I don't blame them for not voting for him because of this. Just a month after tax cuts for the rich, he is cutting heat for the poor? It's something out of Dickens and Scrooge would be proud.

  6. SO pumped to be getting to see Diana Ross in concert this spring! :)

I saw her in Central Park all those years ago. She is hit and miss. That was a great show, but a few years later she did a concert at Radio City which was pretty much a 45 minute farce.

  7. Nadal/Federer, blah, blah, where's the new crowd?

(although I'm probably going with Nadal)

There just isn't a new crowd. Tennis seems to always be about the top rivalry with everyone else that we have to pretend is a factor. Evert/Navratilova was the greatest sports rivalry probably ever and it lasted something like 15 years. If someone else made it into a final it was a fluke. This will be a critical time for Federer because if he fails to reach the final again he risks being ranked 3rd again. I imagine the last thing he wants is to start facing Nadal in semis.

  8. Why do you think Dynasty translates more to foreign places than the US?

I have found that there is a fascination with uber-American things even as everyone looks down on America. I remember living in London back in the 80s and more than once ran into someone who was curious if it was just like Dallas. Gangsters, westerns, big soap operas...people seem to like these unrealistic fantasy American concepts even as Americans get bored with them. Recently I was playing a game online with someone from Europe and all he could tell me was how much he loved Jersey Shore and thought it was the greatest show he ever saw. He was disappointed when I could not reply with the proper response to his Jersey catchphrase of "Gym, Tan, Laundry"

Not everyone of course, but these broad things that cross language barriers seem to have always been popular.

  9. Chris Pine as Blake...I think that is an interesting choice because he did show this great ability to channel William Shatner without actually imitating him and presume he could do the same for Forsythe. Plus, he has the great head of hair anyone needs to step into Forsythe's tux. Not familiar with her suggestion for Alexis.

ok, not seeing this for her. He fits.

  10. daytimefan, I think you might be out of date with the Collins contract status.

The creators of the 1980s primetime soap Dynasty are developing a big-screen adaptation of the series, as I was first to report yesterday.

Esther and Richard Shapiro's flick would be a prequel centered on a young Blake Carrington and his first wife Alexis.

Well, I just chatted with the original ruthless and bitchy Alexis—Joan Collins!

Who does she think should play the young future oil moguls? Read on to find out...

For Alexis, Collins thinks onetime Bond Girl and new face of G-Star, Gemma Arterton, would be perfect.

"She has all the qualities that Alexis needs," she exclusively told me from Birmingham, England, where she's costarring in stage show Dick Whittington. "She's sexy. She looks clever and she's kind of vixenous."

As for Blake (originally played by the late John Forsythe), Collins said, "I do think Chris Pine would be great as Blake. He's a wonderful actor."

Collins said she'd love to play Alexis again. "I certainly couldn't play her in a prequel in the 1960s," the 77-year-old Hollywood icon said, laughing. "But I always thought they should do it today with Alexis' grandchildren, who about 20 years ago were five and six."

Now I want to hear from you: Are you excited for the Dynasty movie? Leave your comments below.
