  1. AMC 1994: I'm surprised by how much I like Adam & Gloria. He keeps treating her pretty close to horribly because he mistrusts her following her affair with Alec but there's just something about her that screams vulnerability and strength at the same time. She's mesmerizing.

Gloria was great! I always felt so sorry for her. LOL

  2. This was the period in which Phil returned from the dead and found true love Tara married to best friend Chuck. Phil was devastated and went to bed with Erica. Around the time of the above ratings, late summer/early fall 1974, Erica discovered that Phil had made her pregnant. He was desperate to reunite with Tara, but would not because she and Chuck had a child together. Of course, the kid was actually Phil's too, fathered the night before he left for Vietnam. Phil agreed to marry Erica, and Ruth, who knew the truth about Tara and Phil's child, admitted this to Tara and begged her to reveal the paternity before Phil married Erica, as he would not marry her with the knowledge that he already had a kid with the woman he really loved. This played out over weeks, with the audience on pins and needles as to whether or not Phil, Tara, and their baby would be reunited.

    Thank you for the response!

I wish we could view those episodes!

  3. Variety Sept 4th 1974

In July/August AMC became top rated soap with a 9.5.

I wonder what story was going big in the summer of '74 on AMC?

    Anyone know?

I believe that's the year Margo Flax had her infamous facelift.

  4. I can remember a scene with Ceara and Adam Chandler. It seems as though the show was trying to decide who would be the best male actor with whom to pair Ceara. I thought that she and Adam had great chemistry.

There's a scene w/ Adam Chandler in the episode I posted above (from 1991). smile.png

  5. "You are a prostitute... you're a hooker... and you're a TRAMP!"

I wonder how she reacted when she found out that Donna wasn't even her bio mom... and that her bio dad was a pimp (who raped her bio mom, Estelle, resulting in her conception). Oh, yeah - she went psycho.

  6. There was a story where she thought she was in love with her psychiatrist Lynn Carson (Donna Pescow), who convinced her that she was just projecting all of her feelings onto Lynn because Lynn had taken a central role in her life.

    Thanks!

I would like to see some of those episodes.

  7. Thank you, ellabelle!

I don't think I've ever heard about all that before.

Well, I remember hearing about Susan Lucci pounding the table upon not winning, but I didn't know the whole Dorothy Lyman angle.
