BTW @DaytimeFan if you haven't listened to Danny Pellegrino breaking down the BH trailer, it is a JOY. DP's Cookie Monster voice for Erika's "OR WHAT? OR WHAT?"

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Nothing says "I'm completely innocent" like threatening to 'come after' your friends for bringing up the allegations in the first place! The 'tough showgirl' act has been hollow for a while. The excessive glam, the 'touring' -- it was all done for the show, to give a false image of Erika's lifestyle. What foolishly spent money. Whether she wants to admit it or not, Erika is at the heart of Tom Girardi's legal troubles because that money was taken from the legal trusts. Let her carry RHOBH on her back this season. It is long overdue that she show some of her real life. ------- This article from Vulture has got people talking in the RH universe -- including Porsha herself. It's the article where Andy basically says Kelly Dodd represents a 'viewpoint' (what is with Bravo's hard-on for this witch anyway? She has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and clearly cannot carry a franchise). It talks about Bravo's uneasy navigation between escapism and trying to make a platform for social justice. https://www.vulture.com/article/bravo-real-housewives-reckoning.html?utm_campaign=nym&utm_source=tw&utm_medium=s1

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Sadly, I think you're right. 😥 Wait.... 'Part one' is just a teaser? 3 mins of special effects and no tea? 😥 Yes I wondered if that was her back yard. Andy won't like the gatekeeper reference! OMG I'm guessing from the neck this must be Gizelle

My hot-take I was literally looking for Cynthia everywhere in that trailer. We saw Marlo more than her.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Everything's coming so fast!! I don't want NJ to end! Erika please. Whatcha gonna do? Put a hit out on Sutton? She's so full of it. Thanks for the Family Karma news! Love that show. I... still don't know what to think about this as a career move. 😬 To be fair, I haven't got past the 3-minute opening titles. It's obviously highly produced so she's put money into this. She started off with the rhyming, though, and that's when I had to cut it short and head to work. I trust there's some hot gossip in here! I give Gina major props in that the show was not doing it for her anymore and she decided her real life and legal career was where she wants to put her time and effort. Kudos! I enjoyed seeing Lydia think she could outwit Gina, Chyka, Janet and Jackie. It was the delusion which was entertaining to me (and also I found Jackie so stuck on herself so it's about time someone told her to her face). I always wondered why the authorities never investigated the fact that Lydia withheld her housekeeper's passport which was truly awful. On social media, some fans seem to be cheering Sydney on, calling it top-tier, and demanding a season 2. I don't know what the hell they watched. The show slid quickly into Crazytown and that reunion was hot mess even Alex 'Sunglasses on my Bald Head' Perry could not control. Victoria, Athena X, Lisa and others were equally awful and equally to blame for that clusterfuck. Too many HWs too. Maddie and the former popstar should have been dropped to FOHs.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
@Soapsuds @Juliajms @Taoboi @Soaplovers Thanks for your input. I wasn't sure who to discuss any concerns I had, but this thread covers a lot of news stories (not conspiracy theories) regarding the Covid situation, so I knew I would get balanced responses. Seems like there is some 'meh' reactions here to Moderna -- how come? Looks like we will be doing another mass vaccination campaign in the winter, huh. @Juliajms You put it into context when contrasting the number of blood clots with those dying of Covid, and I appreciate that. A friend of mine reiterated the same thing -- she got her first dose this week. I cover LatAm markets and the Brazil/Mexico situation is nuts even by our poor US/UK/Europe standards. There were, as of last week, around 85,000 new Brazilian mutations and counting, that's how fast this thing is spreading and adapting to people's immune responses. Bolsonaro is a nut-job who just does not care for his citizens' wellbeing. He views the poorest as lesser than and (I presume) expendable, and often seems ready to spearhead a military coup in order to shut down growing anger against him. Meanwhile, underfunded hospitals cannot cope. The richest Brazilians get private healthcare or fly out of the country to get it in the US. Mexico's AMLO, meanwhile, is a penny-pincher loathe to give public bureaucracy any money to fight the disease. Last year he waved his Virgin Mary amulets at a crowd and said 'This is all I need to protect me from Covid.' In Catholic/religious countries like Mexico (and Brazil), this kind of attitude is dangerous. Mexico and Brazil's most pressing concern, besides poorer populations with comorbidities, a collapsing health sector and the threat of contagion across the globe (again), is their ability to secure vaccines. Mexico is currently hoping for Sputnik to come through for them. Their vaccine rollout has been painfully slow. Brazil, too, dithered on buying enough vaccines. There is also a feeling that the developed markets have hogged most of the good vaccines and that LatAm countries are at the back of the line.

@Chris B Janet is top-tier supporting HW-- witty, a great gossip and holds her own. However, she is not an Alpha like Gina. And that's fine -- the Melbourne cast worked so well because it was this perfect complementary mix of women who act and react in unique standout ways. Janet works within that mix, but she's not the force of nature driving the show (Gina), nor the bimbo's answer to Blofeld (Lydia). God, I am really going to miss Lydia! so entertaining.

My parents got the Pfizer too and have been fine. I'm no scientist in the least but judging by news of some recent trials against a couple variants, Pfizer seems to be the current gold standard and Moderna is also very good. The UK system is very much 'book the appointment, go to the vaccine location, and you get what they give you on the day.' Astra Zeneca has been officially associated with some blood clots but, unlike J&J, the UK is unwilling to pause its rollout.

Jesus. So Brandi & Kary manage to duck accountability and uncomfortable questions because of 'audio issues'? WTF? We've been waiting all season to see them get called out because god knows Stephanie isn't going to do it for us! I swear, Dallas cannot get out of its own damn way sometimes. I love and support the show, I make a point to watch because I think it is worth saving. However, it is making its own cancellation bed with this. Reunion should have been about rescuing this season's RHOD! LOL it is seriously Bad News Day in the RH universe today. 🤭 LOL Gamble is overhyped, though she carried the show on her back during the earlier seasons. No replacement for Gina and Lydia, however. And Jackie... 💀

I've been asked to book a vaccine appointment! I'm pro-vaccines and ready to do so. However, I am getting increasingly nervous about the news reports regarding blood clots + Astra Zeneca. I am in the UK and will probably be offered the AZ jab as they are saving the Moderna ones for the Under-30s. I'm actually not sure what to do as I'm starting to feel stressed about it. I'm not sure I can request my choice of jab, (i.e. Pfizer, which looks fairly effective against some of the variants).

Wait... So on top of Queen Giner, Lydiot is gone too? The dumbest but most entertaining villain in RH? That's me out. Sorry, but Shine Shine Shine can't make up for the loss of Gina and Lydia.

That analogy is very accurate and as an ex-GH viewer, certainly not lost on me! It has made RHOBH hard to watch the last 4 years. However, I do find that in the RH universe, karma does come around eventually. I don't expect Erika/Rinna/Kyle to avoid theirs. Erika's already feeling it. Rinna is disliked and if she decides to do nothing this season (like she did in S8), execs won't keep her around again. Kyle is hiding behind Kathy's skirts right now so who knows with her. From the trailer, it looks like she is actively channelling Kris Jenner and keeping largely out of it. She and Erika are very good at throwing darts from their VTs. However, not sure fans want to be bored to tears by Rinna. They consider her a villain. Yeah, Kathy makes it look effortless in the trailer and I think many fans will be won over by that. I was actually very sad not to see any Kim in the trailer TBH.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yeah, Erika was a little nervous around Bethenny because she knew she couldn't keep up with Motormouth who didn't give two sh*ts about Erika's money, music or 'philosophy.' Dorit can hold her own, but Dorit plays a very interesting game. She is technically part of the bullies -- she was at the heart of Lucy Lucy Apple Juicy. PK signed off on that, too, which is even worse. Last season, sensing the hate Kyle, Rinna and Teddi get on a regular basis, she did some sniffy VTs about Kyle's so-called style career and piped up a couple times in defense of Denise. Dorit goes where the wind blows, but when all is said and done, she is still close with Kyle. Have the bullies won, though? Kyle and Rinna are not popular, and they lost their eager minion, Teddi. I honestly think eventually they will get their just desserts. Regarding Potomac, I worry about the upcoming season. Gizelle, Robyn and Candiace ran Monique off the show, and that was their endgame. They really snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Ashley seems to have a longtime alliance with Gizelle and Robyn so I don't worry about her so much, but I do think the 5 of them will target Karen hard.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Sutton will be the voice of a large segment of BH viewers out there shocked by the breadth of the crimes and Erika's likely knowledge of them. Rinna and Kyle can pretend that this is someone's personal business and doesn't matter, but the fact that DORIT (a woman who pivots incredibly quickly on this show depending on where the power and popularity lie) said "orphans and burn victims widows" was a lowkey surprise. This may be all that Dorit does this season, but it's a heck of a lot more than toadies Kyle and Rinna were doing in that trailer. Doubly unexpected is the fact that Dorit & Erika have built up a friendship over the past few seasons. I think Erika needed to have a diamond this season for this story to be dealt with on-camera at all. As you point out, she has been spending excessively to build up the Erika Jayne brand, and it now turns out that it was ALL for the show. She established herself as the wealthy power player on BH, and clearly it worked because the rest of the Coven were dazzled by/afraid of her. In RH lore, the Fall of the House of Girardi is very recognisable hubris (hello, Teresa). The difference is that Erika probably thought she was smarter and richer than the Giudices, and that the Girardi wealth would keep begetting wealth. And in a weird way, as cold and selfish as she is, I still find Erika somewhat fascinating because she is smart and manipulative and secretive. I think it will be interesting watching her deal with this. Thanks for the D&G explanation regarding Crystal vs Sutton, which makes so much sense.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
OMG, can you imagine? Dorinda, Kandi, Kenya, CANDIACE, Ashley, Karen, Teresa, Dolores would check that attitude PDQ. Gina Liano of RHOMelbourne would also leave Erika a gibbering wreck. She can both outsmart and outswear anybody. Now this is the RH All-Stars I want to see!- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
It was nasty and threatening, but no-one says anything because Erika is the heavy of the group and they are all afraid of Cujo. God, I hate how Kyle does her bugged-eyed shtick and just leaves Sutton to face the snarling "OR WHAT? OR WHAT?" Rinna wants to do fake & phony now? She was all about 'the truth' with Denise last year! Seems like a tactic to try and shut down any close questioning of Erika. I must say, this is the meatiest BH trailer I have seen in the last few years. I think I am going to love Sutton, Garcelle and Kathy. And much as I hate to admit it, compelled by Erika and her Fall. LOL the color scheme is very Power Rangers. They should have down a variation of pink-to-burgundy jewel-tone outfits to contrast with the light-blue diamond. ETA: Crystal got a diamond too! Kathy is the only FOH.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm so devastated by the Giner news, I must immediately share iconic Gina clips:- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I know! I didn't understand the crowing about those ratings. On E! those numbers might be mid-range. The reality show Andy was hosting on E! got similar ratings. I just didn't understand the gleeful reaction on Twitter. And the fact that we regularly get news of LVP's new projects is testament to her ability to pivot. I cannot tell you how shocked I am by this news. Gina IS the RHOMelbourne as far as I'm concerned. I mean, obviously Janet, Lydia and Gamble are absolutely central to the show, too, but with one person missing from the Core 4, and that person being Gina...? She is the Energy. This is seismic. I fervently hope this is not true.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
If there hadn't been a Covid test, I would have naturally assumed that Brandi and Kary were too cowardly to face the other women at reunion and made up an excuse. But OF COURSE Kary got Covid and potentially infected half a plane of people. She seems very careless of anyone's needs other than her own. Moments like this, below, make me lowkey love Marlo: Twitter seems to be celebrating the fact that ratings for LVP's are not very high. I hope she has other irons in the fire. I saw the first episode and it was fine. An easy 20 mins.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Oh wow, I remember the flag moment, too, and Martin Lewis's shell-shocked announcement. I also remember seeing Diana's funeral cortege with my own eyes, the complete eerie silence of the huge crowds of people around me -- and how tiny, little and vulnerable Prince Harry looked walking behind his mother's coffin. 😥- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
