Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Team Luann too -- and shame on whoever spread the rumor that Luann would not be a full housewife this season! Carole is just rubbing me all kinds of wrong in this trailer, even though her haircut and new facelift look good. She is surpassing her mean-girl mentor Bethenny. Even though IA with Carole saying that B gets aggressive with her lol. Carole's failure to donate or publicly support Bethenny's hurricane relief mission, coupled with her calling Luann a LOSER This lazy-ass unable to meet her book deadlines. I also didn't like the way Tinsley was almost gleeful about Luann assaulting a police officer. How quickly we forget our own mugshot and misdemeanours, Tinsley. Ramona was barely in the trailer, hmmm. I hope we still get those special Ramona Moments. (I also hope we get Morocco Part Deux!)

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I think Nene looks much softer and more touchable without makeup, and the same could be said of Porsha who is a really pretty girl under the blusher and fake eyelashes. The Kardashians and the arrival of Miss Erika prompted HWs from across the franchise to demand more from their make-up artists. The NYC feel they are on a par with BH for being the crown jewels of the franchise, so they were bound to demand star treatment. Erika's make up is too much (and so is Khloe K's btw), but her first season, the dewy, light-reflecting filter cream on her skin was PERFECTION and was noticeable when she wore softer, dressed-down looks. It is too bad she has deviated from that because I heard from a makeup artist friend that ALL the HWs were asking their people who Erika's makeup guru was and what that cream foundation was. They all wanted it, and Ramona got it on her last WWHL appearance where she looked absolutely incredible. It's too bad Erika has gone the Elvira route this year because it ages her.

Some of the others do not really believe that Porsha was duped by Phaedra. They feel that Porsha knew the info was suspect when she said it, but that she did it to piss off Kandi and gain some relevancy on the show. Then it blew up huge so she left Phaedra holding the bag. I myself forget that she may have been duped by Phaedra. I haven't watched Sunday's episode but I will watch it tonight to see if I'm being too hard on Porsha. I'd like to think last year was a wake-up for her and that there has been some character growth. CORRECTION @DaytimeFan ! I can view it from my computer in London so you guys outside of the US may be able to view it too! And may I just say, this trailer is EV. RY. THIIIINGGGG. As I suspected when Bethenny indicated that Carole did not contribute to her Puerto Rico rescue mission, these two are on the outs. And I can't help but feel -- at last! This friendship/alliance needs to be broken tested. Lu and Dorinda are also front and center. You guys! This looks so good! I've been waiting for so long for a RH franchise to give me this kind of sugar!! I am so ready for Luann's arrest and redemption, Puerto Rico, Bethenny vs Carole, Tinsley's lost unicorn love, Dorinda confronting her drinking, Bethenny and JILL coming to an understanding at Bobby's funeral.... it is a perfect storm of organic, REAL events for NY's 10th season. April is still too far away.

-RHONYC -Bethenny & Fredrik (it's on Bravo after BH) -Shark Tank (ABC) But yeah you probably don't watch the other two. Judging by B&F ratings, nobody is watching that one either.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
It does feel passé and, yes, insecure. Literally every episode the past 3 years has been about Erika being primped for a look. Clearly the shadow of Gaga is all over this. Gaga realized way back when Artpop flopped that 'committing to fashion as art' was becoming pretentious and ridiculous and an empty gesture. It became a case of the Emperor's New Clothes -- there's nothing there! She kind of had to re-prove her chops as a singer after that. For Erika the 'look' is all she has. There are no chops to prove. It's the same with the Kardashians -- they spend hours being made-up and groomed, just for a 2-minute scene in their empty white house talking about their latest Snapchat. It is inane. And Erika has taken on their old assistants and make-up artists so she is clearly aping them. I wish this trend would end. There is no reason to have an army of make-up artists putting five layers of contour on your face, just so you can be filmed snacking in your own kitchen.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Corrected for you. And ITA. I mean... i wish she'd eviscerate her another way. This is just playing to everybody's 'here she is pitting friends against each other' accusations. This last episode LVP was pretty upfront to Dorit, Kyle and Teddi about where she stood and her feelings. Now she's going to pretend everything is ok and toy with Dorit like a spider with a fly? Shades of Brandi being forced to sing for LVP 3 years ago. It kind of undermines LVP's position and makes Dorit look like the poor victim. Erika, meanwhile, laps it up. I didn't see Rinna at her birthday so I guess that cold war/hate fest is still ongoing. They really despise each other and that is hurting the show.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
BH: I was dreading watching a solid hour of Kyle complaining about what a bad friend LVP is. Luckily the episode vindicated how much I love LVP. She handled Dorit, Kyle's attack rottweiler Bethenny, and Kyle with clear-sightedness. Despite how disappointing BH has become, I am liking LVP more than ever this year. Her apology to Kyle was perfection -- though Kyle could not resist bitching in her VT about how she 'made' Lisa give it to her. Ho, if you have to force an apology as hard as you say you do, then it isn't a real apology. Twirl on that. Can't stand that needy, two-faced Kyle. She was a coward for getting Bethenny to do Faye Resnick's work (Faye would have handled it more elegantly than Skeletor). And then when Bethenny had done her bit, she couldn't face LVP on her own so she hurried away, embarrassed, and went to talk to everybody else about what an awful person LVP is. She has milked this victim persona dry. Surely the jig is up and she has now been exposed for the victim-player she is? I am ready for LVP to drag her at Reunion. Pretty much hate all these b!tches at this point, with the exception of LVP and Teddi and possibly Camille. Dorit is foul. Rinna is a f*cking hypocrite for whining about how TV replaces women over 45, but cannot stop telling us that LVP is "almost 60" (and so are you, Rinna) in an overt attempt to have Bravo get rid of LVP on the basis of age. Kyle is seething with jealousy that LVP is still on the show. Erika wants her spot, badly. It is a little depressing to watch BH never having really got over the hatred spawned by Munchausengate. You hit the nail on the head! They are DonnaMartinGraduates' boobs! It's like Dorit took the picture (below) to her plastic surgeon and told him "Give me these" :

K-Pop Appeciation Thread
CL was good but I think YG let her down with the staging. There wasn't as much inventiveness in using the space as there was with EXO and the gong dance/jeeps entrance. I sort of wish Dara, Minzy and Bom had popped out like they did at the MAMAs a few years ago. YG stays ignoring CL and mismanaging her. I heard the company has gone downhill and is no longer #2 ranked in Korea. They are completely incompetent at promoting any of their acts. CL has the material but they are not letting her release it.

Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
Heather Locklear looks like a photo from Faces of Meth. She seems like she has serious addiction issues. I don't know what to think about this Ryan Seacrest scandal. The Brandon Fraser article was absolutely excellent. He seems like a good guy, best of luck to him in his career going forward. I hope the perv that grabbed his taint answers for this, but he is an ancient cryptkeeper who has been in power in Hollywood forever.

LOL for sure. I've been over Porsha since that day on Lake Lanier tbh. She keeps getting a free pass for her violent behavior. Which means she keeps doing it again and again and again with no repercussions. Not that I'm a Marlo apologist. She is a thug nutcase too.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
She deserved that karate-kick! Porsha leaned over somebody lying on a deck-chair and tried to straddle/stomp Cynthia in the stomach! Then charged for a second try! She dragged Kenya across the studio floor way back then... but Kenya was hated by the viewers at the time so Bravo let it go. Then she got violent with Cynthia -- Cynthia who literally wouldn't raise a hand to a fly. Both times, Carlos King carried Porsha away like she was a little fragile sparrow who injured her wing! She also beat her assistant's ass in an alleyway. Both she and Phaedra should have been fired after last year's debacle, but I guess it pays to be sucking somebody's d*ck at Bravo! Allegedly.

Kelly is vicious. But if Shannon can't get the better of Vicki, what makes DrunkenLips think she will? Shouldn't Kelly be thanking Vicki for getting Controlling Michael off her back and happy to sign the divorce papers and alimony settlement? She's been itching to get out of that marriage for years. Not looking forward to seeing more of Vicki's BF Steve Lodge. He puts me to sleep whenever he hovers in the background. P.S.: The Page Six article is an interview with Steve Lodge where he brags about being close friends with Michael Dodd and introducing him to his new GF. So technically Vicki didn't set up that love match. P.P.S.: OC is currently filming. I think somebody wants to drum up hype for the new season after last year's disastrous mess -- and to keep her orange.

The Politics Thread
Susan Lucci is a class act. Proof that you don't have to vote down party lines 100% of the time in some kind of rabid, cult-like trance (ahem Alabama Reps who still voted for Ray Moore). Watching Dana Loesch and Wayne LaPierre scream in barely-concealed rage about how guns don't kill people -- but also threatening blood-swept violence and civil war if their assault-weapon penis extensions are taken away from them. Isn't that inciting violence?

I like Brandi with Kristen, too, especially explaining Kristen's Elvis fetish in Vegas! Kristen stood up to Ramona who was especially badly behaved in S6, and she got a plastic wine glass in the face for her trouble. She wasn't a wimp, had authentic friendships with Heather and Carole, and had a douchebag husband her criticized her parenting and home-making skills all the while spending his 'busy' work time trawling the Ashley Madison website! For that alone, Kristen should have been back in S8, but Bethenny basically blanked her in S7 and she was replaced by Jules. Too bad! I enjoyed her. Absolutely. As an American who went to British school for a while as a kid, it bothered me how teachers there would ignore bullies picking on other kids. If the kid complained to the teacher about the bullies, the teacher would get annoyed. Like, why are you whining? Toughen up and keep your head down. If you didn't make yourself such a victim, they wouldn't target you! Things have improved since those Dark Ages, but LVP has definitely been moulded by this keep-it-moving attitude. By contrast, Kyle -- ignored by Big Kathy (who she inexplicably idolizes) in favour of the other two money-making daughters -- desperately needs constant positive reinforcement and validation of her pain. This is a very California-guru approach to mental health. She and LVP probably had very similar childhoods in the sense that they felt ignored and searched for love & security outside the family. However, their way of dealing with their emotional scars is very different. LVP doesn't want to pick the Kyle-LVP scab; in yesterday's episode, she literally tried to hug it away with Kyle, to the point of almost smothering her. Kyle wants to pick pick pick because only by confronting the pain can you come out the other side healed, etc, etc! I tend to lean towards the American way instead of sweeping it under the carpet. However, in the case of yesterday's episode, I understand LVP. Kyle directed her ire at LVP. She 100% played the victim, which I can only imagine must have got her attention when she was a small child. LVP tried to say the words Kyle wants to hear but she speaks a different language. And LVP is also over this nothingburger of an 'issue' --- as we all are! She knows the fight was just an excuse for these women to scratch. They need a reason to emote at Reunion! IMO this 'looking for a contrived fight' has been a big problem, not just for BH, but for the RH franchise as a whole the last two years. I think it is killing the franchise tbh. It is not organic.

I'd take Kristen. Unpopular choice I know. Well, I did end up watching. I felt like Rinna in the episode, utterly bored, looking for cocktails and then a cab to whisk her to that drab, grey hotel! The whole thing felt like people talking in circles in order to avoid dealing with the issues at hand. Watching Dorit 'explain' things was like Kelly Conway discussing #alternativefacts. Dorit is a horror show. Kyle is so needy and so... comfortable playing the victim that it is exhausting, even though she was justified in confronting Dorit. LVP tried in her British way to make amends and show her love but it wasn't enough. And it will never be enough for Kyle who wants Californian proclamations of devotion. Teddi was the only clear head in the group. Erika, Teddi, LVP and Kyle chatting as they were about to leave the bar was the only moment I thought everybody's energy and chemistry clicked. I liked that foursome. I can't make out if this SL is as wearying as pantygate last year. It is certainly close.

Yep, and her marriage which was going through a difficult patch. Of course I got your Anne of Avonlea reference! I treasured those books and loved the Tv mini series too. Gilbert Blythe ! Swoon. P.s.: totally agree on your assessment of the Heather/Carole/Bethenny friendships. Heather and Carole were equals and I really dug their friendship. It is still ongoing! With Bethenny, I get the impression Bethenny needs an outlet to vent constantly. Whenever we see them together, the topic of conversation remains resolutely Bethenny. B rarely asked Carole what was going on with her, unless it related to Man-Bun (Adam). ETA: I don't consider seasons 5 and 6 shaky... I enjoyed them and felt they were necessary evolutions. The seasons I thought were lacking were 8 and 9 to a certain extent -- I know I'm alone in that opinion lol!

The Wendy Williams Thread
WW announced today that she is going on a 3-week hiatus from her show, effective immediately. She said it is a recurrence of her thyroid/Graves issues, but I imagine the stress of her husband cheating on her, coupled with the medua scrutiny and maybe other... things, is not helping. She was apparently almost in tears today. It must be hard to have to leave the show so suddenly. I hope she gets the medical and emotional care she needs right now. She's not been right in some time. Oh and she also said she made up with R Kelly??? Wtf?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The Heather-Bethenny dynamic was interesting. Part of it was hidden jealousy on Bethenny's part as here was another woman heading up a viable, growing business. These two women were just too different to be friends. Bethenny is fast with the wise-cracks and cynical; Heather gives most people the benefit of the doubt until proved otherwise (Sonja, Aviva), but can also preach lessons a bit. I miss Heather's warmth. Even with Dorinda there, who I consider a 'warm' person, Heather was good at rallying the group together and getting to the point of things.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I don't know about that... these fights feel so contrived and ridiculous that I'm not sure what to think about any of these women. Kyle and LVP acting like a couple of 8th graders. Dorit showing her grifter ass. Erika trying painfully hard to be the coolest girl in school. I do like Teddi a lot though, especially after last week and her most recent blog. She is no bull but also quite human and not afraid to be vulnerable on camera. Agree so much with this! I don't mind Tinsley but she's not that interesting. Her mother Dayyyyyle would be a better fit with this group imo. Tinsley lucked out because it was slim pickings last year after Bethenny and Carole got Jules fired. Would love Heather back! She was awesome. She and Carole had the best, most real, friendship, too. Her return would drive Bethenny batsh*t!

As usual. LVP is the Bond villain of the franchise, according to the others. Lisa VanderBlofeld! She manipulates others into saying and doing awful things by pure osmosis!
