People on YouTube have pointed out a few times when there were errors in the opening and closing credits. Like, recently, months after the actor who played Dave (Brooke's former fiance) left the canvas and was no longer appearing in the opening, suddenly popped up again. Or them mixing up a character name and real life names.

Yeah, to me it looks like exactly the same actress consistently throughout. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Oh, sure. I am at point where Nancy Burnett is Beth, but the first Beth is still in the opening credits.

I don't know if this is valid or not, but I found this casting site, which has Rosemarie Thomas and they also list B/B among her credits:

  2. I don't really follow Junior Eurovision. I find it not fair with kids age 10 singing against kids age 16. Kids at 10 are still kids, singing kiddy songs about toys and grandparents, while kids at 16 can already be proper pop stars, singing about whatever.

I think TC was modeled after Richard Williams (who Will Smith is getting massive praise for playing on film). In the months before the show was canceled, Rodney Van Johnson was taken off contract and it was announced he would be recurring, but I don't think he was ever seen on the soap again.

I think you are right. I did not see the movie, but it sounds like a fair comparison.

But which episodes?😂 Maybe she is being credited for the image in the photograph? I don't remember her at all.

I don't know :D I saw this when I was first doing episode aircount from imdb and I noticed this confusion with Rosemarie and Carla. Then I started watching B/B from the beginning and for me, the actress always looked the same to me, but in the credits they had two different names in different episodes. So I was confused :)

I think there is still a chance Luke/Laura will reunite since the show is still on the air.  At least if/when the show gets cancelled.  I think there are quite a few couples that may reunite if that ever happens (Liz/Lucky, JaSam, Sonny/Brenda, Robert/Holly, etc)

My biggest one (and this could still happen I suppose) is Bo/Hope.   I get that it was unfair to fire KA when Peter decided to leave, but she did nothing in those years after he died.  I wish Hope left this time because there was some info out there that Bo was alive and she's investigating.

I am not afraid (yet) for any of these couples on the still ongoing soaps (I mean I don't watch any ongoing soaps anymore, but I would tune in if any of them were ending). I am sure that one day when they will have the last episode, they will reunite the big couples. If nothing, then off screen where other characters will say that they got a call and so and so reunited.

So for Bo and Hope, even if Kristian and Peter do not want to return (and I could see them agreeing to come back if DAYS was done), I think you could have a case where Shawn says that he got a call and Bo was alive and he's off to meet Hope to go meet Bo, or something like this.

Yeah, TC just disappeared in the final months of the NBC run. Later it was revealed that he moved to New Orleans with Whitney and Simone

He was angry and bitter because of the car accident that ruined his tennis career. And yeah, it was pretty obvious that they forgot about the shed for a while. When the reveal finally happened, it was so underwhelming

Ah yes, I remember it now, this thing about his tennis career. The shed I don't know if they ever showed while I was watching. Or maybe I erased it from my memory, if it was so underwhelming :D

I always hate when prominent characters just disappear without ever being seen again. I think each main/contract character deserves at least some kind of an ending.

  7. Didn't TC have some anger issuer towards the Cranes and there was a shed which he stared at for a long time, but we were not shown what's inside? lol

Thats as far as his character development went, I think :D

I think TC and Eve together were supposed to be dull, because they were never meant to be endgame.

Ethan was indeed a clueless drip under Travis Schuldt (not really his fault, just the way the character was written), but I never saw much of Eric Martsolf in the role so I really can't comment on what Ethan was like under him. I still find it laughable that Ethan was supposed to b ed a lawyer!!

Re: TC&Eve - Yeah, possible. Whatever happened to TC? I forgot... he did not stay until the end, right?

I did not like Travis Schuldt in the role of Ethan. I found him to be bland and it did not work with the clueless character as you mentioned. I liked Martsolf on DAYS, so maybe I would have liked him as Ethan, had I seen him.

Very bizarre, as I am revisiting these episodes, I only remember seeing Carla Herd (aka Carla Sands) in the role. I have never seen a Rosemarie Thomas in the role of Alex.

Not only do I believe that IMDB contains an error, but other sites have obviously gotten their erroneous information from IMDB. https://theboldandthebeautiful.fandom.com/wiki/Alex_Simpson

Is there an actual photo of Thomas in the role? I can't find any. Or any photos of the actress so we can compare and see if there is some resemblance to Herd?

The Wiki entry doesn't even seem to list Herd, which is very bizarre.

EDT. Lord, is Carla Sands running for Senate now?!😧

I know, very confusing. I was looking so hard to see the difference between the actresses, but it was difficult.

There is Rosemarie Thomas in the actual credits of the show as Alex in this episode. So maybe she was just there for a few episodes and then Carla Herd/Sands took over permanently, but imdb messed it up?

  10. I am gonna repeat what others said that I was surprised that Luis and Sheridan did not end up together. They were such a HUGE couple throughout the years.

And I believe Miguel also ended up with Kay and not Charity? I love Kay, she was one of my favorite characters, but I would never want her to end up with a bland person like Miguel. Plus, seeing as how Charity and Miguel were also a big deal for a lot of runtime of the show, I was surprised they did not put them back together.

I am also going to say Gabi and Antonio on SuBe. They completely ruined Ricardo's character because of Gabi/Antonio affair and the two I think were hot and gained a following, only to finally have Gabi end up alone. It was her own choice, which is fine, but still, surprised me.

Yes, because neither character was worth rooting for. She should have been committed and he was a clueless drip.

It's amazing how terrible they were. Al least in the beginning.

My favorites from those first few years were Kay (Taylor Anne Mountz and Deanna Wright; was not a fan of the Kay which was in between the two); Luis & Sheridan; Whitney & Chad; Timmy & Tabitha; Julian.

On the other side, I absolutely hated the whiney Charity, Grace and Theresa. My God, all of them were so annoying. I hated Jesse Metcalfe's acting. He was better later on when he joined DH. I found Eve and TC to be boring.

This has been said before about Jim Reilly, but I took issue with the restrictive morality that drove every single plot.  Characters were literally thrown into pits, assaulted, or sent to hell, because they merely kissed someone out of wedlock.  It lacked any sophistication or nuance.

During all those days of repetitive dialogue, endless monologues in rooms with one's enemy right outside the door, and numerous recaps of recent events, just once I wanted a character to gain some self-awareness or question the ethics that guided their beliefs.

All of this! Plus flashbacks! So many flashbacks. I would cringe every time when they would flashback to something that happened yesterday... so annoying.

A member of my SB group has actually done a 'remaster' of Terror Island if you're interested :)

Thanks for this, brings back so many memories! It was such a long time ago...

I was surprised when "Ben" was revealed as the killer. Even though it was hinted up until that point many times how Ben was a weirdo who killed his first wife. But I didn't think that they would really make Ben the killer, so when his face showed up, I was surprised. But then with time, I figured it out that it must be an evil twin lol

I think it would be cool to show two episodes that follow the same storyline but show the passage of time. For example, Nina's baby being stolen on Y&R in 1987 and then her reuniting with the adult Ronan in 2010. That's the real power of soaps, the fact that you can follow the character through the years and get payoffs DECADES later. That's not replicated by any other genre. Another good one might be Laura's rape on GH and then Lucky finding out about it as a teen.

Amazing idea! I vote for this :)

And I did have a crush on Lindsay Hartley too, which eventually morphed into a crush on Justin Hartley 😂😂

Oh Lindsey Korman was/is beautiful, so I can see why the crush, but the character was horrendous to me.

Considering today's viewing habits, I definitely think a major push towards streaming platforms alongside regular airing on networks. For streamers, it would be nice to have a omnibus type feature but a condensed version of the weeks episodes with the major plot points and key moments so that viewers can easily catch up.

And writing! There needs to be a freshness injected into the stories on soaps. A major overhaul in storytelling to make it appealing to audiences today BUT maintain the key features that make soaps. Soaps! I feel that's where many soaps went wrong in the naughties, by keeping the same tired stories but removing all those fun soap elements that make a soap a soap.

Oh, for sure! Streamers might be the way to go.

You hit the nail on the head there. A lot of soaps today are written as if we are still in 90s or 00s.  It's like they are afraid to write modern stories (for the most part). Soaps are still popular in prime-time. But daytime is just so behind modern times, it's ridiculous.

I didn't like Teresa until she embraced her inner b!tch and went toe to toe with Julian and the reset of the family. She and Ethan were horrible together.

    Grace was such a BORE.

I stopped watching by the time Theresa became a bitch and hooked up with Julian, even though I would read up to stay in touch with the show.

Grace was horrible. I did not like the actress one bit and the character was super annoying. Same as Charity.

There is no summer hiatus for UK soaps.

Oh my God, you're right! It's been a while since I watched them.

EDIT: Anyway, I don't think a summer break would help. I personally think that soaps are very much a habit thing, so if you break the habit, it is difficult to come back. Soaps could get better viewership by increasing their budgets, getting better actors, sets and most importantly writing.

No summer break would help anyone if they kept shrinking the budgets and writing horrible stories.

  18. Terror Island and Shockwave were everything to my teenage self back then. I was so into Scream and I know what you did last summer, so Terror Island was awesome!

And Shockwave was really well done, I remember. I obviously loved Titanic, so then having a soap doing a shipwreck stroyline was awesome (even though this was a copy of Poseidon Adventure, rather than Titanic, but still...)

  19. OMG, I always hated Theresa. She was such a crybaby lol My friends and I always laughed at Theresa. Even now, years later, people will remember Theresa's overdramatics over telling Ethan she loves him while speaking to herself, over vowing to be with Ethan all the time, weeping and sighing... so over the top haha

I always preferred Luis and Sheridan.

But Timmy and Tabby were funny together. :D I would love to try a Martimmy :D
