You were not far from wrong. Someone from his campaign clarified Romney's comments about what he would keep from the Affordable Care Act. Earlier, I read an article that Scott Van Nuzer who owns Big Apple Pizza and hugged the President was flooded with negative reviews by Republicans so Democrats went there and made tons of positive posts. I just visited it to see for myself. Boy, are Republicans pathetic. So much for business owners having a right to their opinions. Guess, they meant only businesses that hate others like the many Republicans do.

Yesterday, Romney did say that he would keep two or three elements of the Affordable Care Act.

I just saw one of TNT's brief promos for TWD. Hershel: Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something different in mind. Bwah! October cannot come fast enough.

Double Word. Obama caving all the time is one of the reason I will always have reservations about him. it is exactly what has driven the progressives and much of the base away from him. We were spoilt by Clinton, the bare knuckle fighter. I have my issues with Clinton, but damn I loved that when the Republicans led by rabid Newt Gringrich refused to compromise and threatened to shut the government down, Clinton responded, "go ahead" and then, proceeded to ruthlessly beat the [!@#$%^&*] out of them until they begged for mercy. Clinton knew that the way to win was to be audacious while punching his enemies in the face and the country prospered as a result which is why they re-elected despite his lies and affairs. If only Obama had that those kind of brass balls. Maybe the problem is that he does not any strong beliefs about anything so it is easy for him to compromise at every turn. If Obama had pushed through a larger stimulus and insisted on giving house owners substantial mortgage relief like so many economists wanted, the economy would have recovering much faster instead of stuttering and this election campaign would not be difficult.

I am not happy about this at all. There is no reason for Christian to go because Marc decided to leave. Christian is a long established character and he could get a new partner in time. Thumbs down to EE.

LOL! You would think that a Republican would know the difference considering that George and Jeb Bush with the assistance their allies committed election fraud in Florida 2000.

Don't know why. You must have missed when he referred to the President as "Barry." Eh, I think that these ads are becoming out dated and ineffective for a growing diverse population. They only work in the uneducated poorest backward southern states.

It is not an exaggeration. It is mendacity as Big Daddy called it in one of my favorite movies, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The typical lies that Republicans trot when they want to suppress the votes of people they know won't vote for them. Pretty much. Suppressing the vote of ethnic minorities and women has been the favorite past time of primarily white right-wing conservative males. This imaginary "vote fraud" delusion is just their latest strategy. Good for you! I love this. Yep, I am enjoying how the Republicans' pathological lying is finally forcing the mainstream to acknowledge that they are liars and dishonest about everything that they say about their political opponents.

Eh, it does not matter what statistics or any other credible evidence shows, for these people widespread voter fraud is a boogie man born from political delusion and a determination to suppress the votes which ever way they can.

Except showing ID is a burden for segments of the population. Many elderly people are on the voting rolls, but lost their driving license, birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc. and their passports (if they ever had one) expired many years ago. They are not mobile and do not have the transportation to run from government office to government office to get the documents to get their government ID. Besides voter fraud rarely ever happens. It is merely the latest mask that the white right wing conservation establishment is using for vote suppression of segments of the population that do not support their politics.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I am so there with you. I cannot stand Laurel and Marlon. I hate that we are supposed to feel sorry for their cheating deceptive asses. It steams me that she is raising Gabby who is not even hers biologically. I want Bernice and Ashley to reunite and take both kids from Laurel.

Not a surprise. It was actually two GOPers. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/cnn-should-reveal-details-of-nut-throwing-incident/2012/08/29/658b3608-f1e7-11e1-adc6-87dfa8eff430_blog.html?hpid=z3

Chas and Dan are a joke. I can only think that TPTB are using them to set up a wedding that will explode on the show's live show for its 25th anniversary.

A woman's right to control her body and reproduction has nothing to do with adoption. To say a woman who decides to have an abortion for any reason, is not logical, is emotional, and lack fortitude is insulting and degrading to women, period. Besides adoption is straw man argument thrown up by anti-choice people when the truth is that they love the fetus, but have absolutely no use for the child. Look at Rick Scott, the Florida Republican governor, rejecting $4.9 million federal money to continue a program to support the parenting of children in at risk home. The Washington Post has a great article on the history of the definition of rape. Of course, it is all about primarily white men controlling the bodies of girls and women, especially if they were black: http://www.washingto...ry.html?hpid=z2 Romeny/Ryan could make it easier for states led by Republican administration to crush women's reproductive rights by defending Planned Parenthood and eliminating access to abortion clinics. Right now the Obama Administration and the federal courts are the only thing protecting women's rights in Texas and Mississippi. If these states succeed, other Republican led states will follow.

It is not much different from when the reluctance or Reagan, etc. to invest money in treating HIV/AIDS was because gay man were having sinful sex and therefore, they should live with the consequences (whisper God's punishment). These people need to focus on their own lives and stop worry about who f'cks who and where, who uses contraception or the morning after pill, and who has an abortion or not. Why ever a woman is having an abortion, it is not an easy decision and it is none of your god damn business. RME. He said what he meant and meant what he said. If you agree with him fine, but don't lash out at me and others who understand exactly what he is saying or try to change his "intent."

I read exactly what you posted and find it incredible that you cannot see how it denigrates a woman who is raped and makes the decision to have an abortion. The fact that you claim that you do not support making abortion illegal does not change the fact that you have the nerve to insult a woman who decides to have an abortion when she is raped. Goodness knows the judgment that you must make when woman who has an abortion for other reasons.

Don't know how I missed this. If you were a woman who was raped... Please. You, Akin, and your ilk are incredible and have freaking nerve to make a judgement about woman's right to control her own reproduction, especially to denigrate a woman who has been raped. Women have abortions for variety of reasons and that it is their decision. Worry about your own strength, fortitude, logic, and emotion about the decisions in your own life.

It is the Republican platform so I don't know why some Republicans are trying to pretend otherwise. This idea of legitimate or forcible rape has been the mainstay of anti-abortion folks forever and they have tried to legislate it. Pretty much.

I am pretty sure that Sharon used to babysit Janine when she was a little girl as well. Sharon and Janine know each other very well, even though they were never close. Whoever wrote that scene was clueless about Sharon's background.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I loved Patrick taking in Jay. Rudolph Walker is a fine actor who shines in every performance. I also liked the gossiping around the community which felt very real and harkened back to the early EE years. But I would find it difficult to believe that Sharon would willingly return to Walford after everything that happened with Dennis. It is far more believe that circumstances forced her return. I don't mind her floating around aimlessly. I think that writers are trying to show how lost and lonely Sharon has become. We see still moments of the old Sharon like when she insists on selling the ring to Jack, sells her wedding dress to make her way, sharply comments on the gossip, and sings to little Dennis. The writers are taking their time setting up the story which I also like. However, her meeting with Janine was odd and I want Sharon to interact with more people. Dot's absence glaring. She adored Dennis and felt his loss almost as much as Sharon. It would be good for her to be there to support Sharon. Anyway, as long as Sharon does not turn into Kat or does not get romantically involved with Phil, I am willing to go along for the ride.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Gawd, I hope not. I am enjoying Jack and Sharon for the moment, but they turn her into disgusting Kat, I am done. ITA. I think the actor who plays Jay is the best young actor on EE. He is amazingly talented and he was outstanding in those scenes with Linda Henry. When Jay said that he wanted his father, my heart broke into pieces for him and I have never felt that way about Ben.

I am just loving Jack and Sharon although I am surprised that she slept with him so quickly. He obviously already has it bad for her which I like. Ian is such a mess, but I don't know why he signed over his businesses to Lucy who will no doubt lose everything in a blink of an eye.

I have never liked Jack. The way he kept sleeping with blond Mitchells along those women and dropping kids all over the place. The writing for him has been dire. However, the character is getting a second chance in this flirtation with Sharon.
