  1. Hey, has anyone streamed this series? If not, please do. Christian Keyes’ male stripper series was awesome. Eva Marcille really stands out as strip club owner Madam.
  2. Interestingly, Brooke was a reporter/journalist at one point. This new version does indeed mention a young journalist arriving on the scene and becoming entangled in the mix of everything. I wonder if this character is being modeled after Brooke.
  3. "It's a darker look at things." Phrased yet again. I'm so curious about the specifics of this show.
  4. The attention spans of the overwhelming audience has changed drastically. This is why you don't see very many slow-paced shows anymore. People lose interest quickly, ratings go straight to the crapper, and networks are forced to pull the plug. I remember the old days of primetime soaps. No one was seemingly getting bored with slow-paced Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing, etc. Those shows were popular because of their pace and they held people's interest from start to finish.
  5. I just don't think it's going to have much semblance to the original either. The "dark and murderous" history tagline, for me, says it all. Like I said, Pine Valley was not Heaven on Earth, but it wasn't some consistent crime/murder town either. The journalist with an agenda will probably be the one to watch..........and not in a good way.
  6. Based on what I’ve read so far, I’ve personally deduced it to being this: AMC gone from soap opera to crime drama. No lovey-dovey moments. Just dark stories, dark characters intertwined with a few of the originals in a town seemingly turned mysterious/seedy/crime-infested.
  7. "Dark and murderous" history? I realize the town of Pine Valley wasn't heaven, but this makes it sound like it was some crime-ridden metropolis, which it wasn't really. This sounds like an entirely new spin on the show. It will probably be unrecognizable.
  8. Initially, I hated the idea of the change in the setting, but I quickly decided that Atlanta, as a setting, offers numerous possibilities. There's the music industry along with the good and the bad that occurs in that business. Atlanta is also high on the list when it comes to the sex trade. There's never a shortage of stories to tell from that aspect. With the right writers, Dynasty 2.0 could easily be a combination of the old (in terms of the show's vibe) with newer elements added. The gossip girl vibe is hurting it and it has to go.
  9. I completely forgot that Dominique had an ex-husband named Brady Lloyd (played by Billy Dee Williams in the original). He was a recording executive. Actor Blair Underwood sounds like a good fit for this show's version of Brady. He and Dominique would serve well in stories coming from the Atlanta music scene. Good idea!
  10. TPTB shouldn't stop here. This show's numbers have not been good, so they'd have nothing to lose by casting more new characters ASAP! Vanessa Williams as "Dominique Devereaux", Valarie Pettiford as "Sybil (get it?) Colby", and James Lafferty as "Adam Carrington". Someone mentioned elsewhere about this show's setting being Atlanta, yet the show doesn't do much to make it seem like this is where these characters are living. I think I agree with that too! They should utilize the Atlanta setting more. Good stories can often be made based on a show's setting alone, and I personally know Atlanta: Party city, energetic, highly skeevy, and crime-ridden.
  11. I've been reading online that a tv series is being considered by the name of "Sin City." "Basin City" is the town's criminal-infested setting, and it's apparently based on some dark comic strips and movies created by some guy named Frank Miller. I read some of the details about the comics and the movies and I think it would translate well into some weekly dark tv show. Most of the characters sound like larger-than-life criminals and I can already see it reminding of some modern-day Edge of Night.
  12. Any details on the premise of what "Up Against It" was supposed to be?
  13. I can also see her playing this version of Alexis as a bit comedic as well. Like she'll be very good with sarcasm, cutting remarks, and one-liners.
  14. I wonder who he'll be playing? With Alexis now cast, could he be Dex?
  15. I actually kinda like this show but it does need work. Somehow, I believe in it having potential. It's gotten a full season order so this is the chance for a bit of retooling. The introduction of Alexis would definitely be a step in the right direction, much like she was the right decision to be made in the original. HA! The infamous Paige Matheson is Alexis. Let the games begin!
  16. I'm trying to make Jeffrey and Wyatt happen? I am not a WRITER on this show. And your rather silly and abrasive response to a simple post makes it appear almost as if you're worried.
  17. Jeffrey's boyfriend is so handsome. Kudos to TP for depicting handsome, sexy, and somewhat refined gay dudes rather than the ordinary stereotypical joes often seen on daytime soaps. I still wonder though if Jeffrey and Wyatt are endgame, and Landon has been added as a catalyst to that.
  18. I remember this soap vividly. It aired during my years living in Chicago on WFLD channel 32 weeknights at 7:30p.m. I watched its entire run and I knew throughout the whole time that the show was struggling. To this day, I think that's too bad because I always felt that there was some potential SOMEWHERE with this show. Like it could've been really good with much better writing and stories. I thought many of the actors were great, so they already had that in place. Better writers were needed to really make it work. I just loved the name: TAYLOR CHAPIN VON PLATEN! WHAT A NAME! LOL.
  19. Wyatt can TELL Veronica what he wants but where's the proof? This is why I keep wondering where's the hidden tape? The photos? Something? Does he still have the hidden webcam which quite frankly can be interpreted a number of ways? And Veronica would probably ask Wyatt why it took him so long to tell her or show her the info on Jeffrey. Quite frankly, I'd like to know why it's taken him this long myself.
  20. Wyatt has NOTHING! LOL. He wanted to run off to tell Jeffrey's very firece mother that her son is gay. If Veronica didn't want to hear those words from her own son, she definitely would not have stood for hearing it from someone else. Either way, Wyatt's threat to tattle on Jeffrey is neutralized by next week because he spills the beans himself. Wyatt loses on all fronts, including the fact that he goes back to using again.
  21. Trapped Creeper Jeffrey how? Again, if it's not on tape, Wyatt has nothing! I think Wyatt just saw this as fun and games, and he now has a really hurt head as a result.
  22. OK, so did Wyatt get any of this on tape? Because if he didn't, I have no idea what his ongoing "investigation" into Jeffrey was about. Seems like the only "payoff" Wyatt received was getting his head bashed in and I'm sure that wasn't the payoff he was looking for.
  23. LOL. But next week, Jeffrey is also seen telling Wyatt "I'M NOT GAY". Who's playing whom? I think they're both coming off silly at this point. Jeffrey knows himself and Wyatt has known about Jeffrey for awhile now as well, but he chooses to engage in this ridiculous dance with Jeffrey.
