She's pretty much a Christmas artist at this point, so might as well.

I also Billboard really needs to examine these chart rules - these Christmas songs will completely fall off in 2 weeks time.

I’m torn on that. If the charts are supposed to reflect what people are listening to, it’s harder to think of a song more ubiquitous right now than “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” But she may literally hit No. 1 every year from here on out (and ironically eventually reclaim her record from “Old Town Road,” just with non-consecutive weeks).

What’s interesting is how much a boost Brenda Lee’s even-older “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” has gotten.

  2. Mariah scores her 19th No. 1, putting her just one behind the Beatles’ record. First soloist to ever hit No. 1 with a holiday record, and she has hit No. 1 in three consecutive decades (1990s, 2000s, 2010s).

I'm amazed at how badly Hallmark fucked this up. They're lucky because most of their audience doesn't pay attention to these stories, but they have still alienated a lot of homophobes and a lot of queer people and allies through sheer bumbling.

I’m sure if they had left well enough alone with that ad, they’d have had some conservative rumbling, but it would have been a tempest in a teapot. Now they’ve enraged both sides and drawn negative attention to themselves. Like you say, they’re lucky.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I was just about to say HEADS UP since Twitter is all over Kenya vs Quad on tonight's WWHL.

Andy, you were NOT ready for that. lol.

I totally knew something was going to go down from the jump. Kenya’s body language just exuded disdain for Quad even during the live teasers that air before the show.

  5. Last I checked the only soap that really had a “younger generation” was GH, but even they felt a bit tacked-on. It’s hard to invest in a bunch of new young characters when these shows don’t even know if they’ll be on in five years. Plus, there’s no hope of getting young viewers anymore. Everything feels desperate and about basic survival.

Edit: I suppose if we counting older twentysomethings, DAYS counts.

  6. Hey - at the end of the day, it probably doesn’t matter who they install as HW, so perhaps Sally would be as good of a choice as any. The constant turnover and jarring reboots have been just as damaging as anything, and it sounds like the BTS has been incredibly chaotic. It might not be a job Sally wants again after what she endured the first time—who knows?

That's embarrassing but Verdacso seems to like being an embarrassment since he does it so much.

    Meanwhile...

That’ll be an interesting pairing. Was wondering where he’d land.

I think a lot on SON have stopped watching Y&R and GH. I stopped watching YR and I haven't seen GH in years now. Same for BB.

Same. B&B seemed to pop a bit with the baby switch fallout and Thomas’s reign of terror, but yeah. Even though much of the DAYS commentary is negative (it’s still daytime in 2019), people are still invested in the characters and their relationships here. I suppose that’s an accomplishment.
