Remember when Nikki saved Jabot with her money against Victor's wishes? Where has THAT Nikki gone?I get it, Victor is a legendary character and EB a pillar of the show. But the writers going along with his insistence that Victor always be the winner and be one step ahead of everyone is really hurting every character in his orbit. It does not make Victor any "less of a man" if Nikki has a personality.
It’s awful. I hope that they have Nikki admit that Ashland signed that contract when he was incapacitated. But I hate the Victor/Nikki merry-go-round. It’s damaged Nikki as a character.

Nikki is such an idiot. So she needed Victor’s permission to call an ambulance? They write her with zero backbone.

Lu looks epically stunning. She has not aged a minute since her Pirate Bootycall days!
I like Eboni too. She is smart and realises that flattery gets you everywhere with the Ramona-Sonja-Luann triumvirate, but caution is also necessary, because newbies get burned with those three.
Yeah, she seems well-equipped to navigate these ladies, and having a small cast benefits her both with the other ladies and the audience. More opportunities for Eboni to get to know the other women as well as more opportunities for the viewers to get to know Eboni. I wonder what she’ll bring in terms of family and career material.
I am curious what happens when the booze (and other substances) really get flowing, and Sonja gets a little frisky lol.
These shows really reward people who roll up their sleeves and get a little dirty, which is always fraught when you’re the only person of color amid a bunch of white women.3 minutes ago, FrenchBug82 said:That's one thing that I always thought made NY strong. The fact there was a core group of ladies with a lot of history with each other, including and especially pre-show and outside of the show.
It is also the case with Gizelle and Karen: the best frenemies relationship are built out of knowing each other from before the show, even socially. They have each other's numbers
Women who just met each other will fall out over the smallest dumbest stuff because they don't know each other. When the relationship is complicated BUT organic, it makes for a lot more compelling TV.
Look at the interaction between Sonja and Ramona here. That kind of very biting shade/mockery but with some degree of affection and indulgence is not something you can replicate with an artificially constructed cast.
Oh I completely agree. The existing relationships between the women add so many layers. In the case of Ramona/Sonja/Luann, they’ve all fûcked the same guys lol. Of course, when family gets involved things can turn toxic (early NJ, Kyle/Kim on BH), but NY has mostly kept things light.

I can’t get over how great Luann looks.
Eboni seems funny and fantastic. I wonder how enmeshed she’ll become in the RHONY drama, as that’s a VERY incestuous cast with a lot of history. Leah seemed to jump in head first.

In most parts of Europe, the situation is still tense.
Germany now has a nation-wide ban on going out between 10 pm and 5 am in all cities and regions with a 7-day incidence higher than 100 (which affects 350 of 401 cities and regions). In my city, the number of covid cases has hit an all-time high today.
The vaccination process took too long to get started. Roughly 20 % of the population has received one shot, and only 7 % of the population has been fully vaccinated yet.

Finola Hughes is a gem. She withstands a lot of iffy-to-bad acting.
Shawn’s sexy self is back.

Kiara Barnes (Zoe) is leaving to join Fox’s new Fantasy Island series:

Netflix has released The Great British Bake-off and a few reality series on a weekly basis, which has worked well. It also sustains the social media chatter over a longer period of time. Not sure WandaVision would have had the legs with just a dump...

TV shows, and soaps in particular, believe that when a character is despised but is generating massive viewer feedback that it's a sign that the character should remain on the show. You're talking about the character and responding to the character on social media and message boards. That to them means the character has made a significant impression. It's when you say nothing, good or bad, that's when they get rid of a character. Think about it.
I get it. I’m sure Charity Rahmer would have dominated social media if she aired as Belle today. But... she was terrible (admittedly in an entertaining way, which I can’t say for Wes). Wes’s acting choices literally take me out of scenes. I’m more focused on his ridiculousness to even engage with the stories or the world of the show. If that’s the effect they want, more power to them. Desperate times call for desperate measures. There’s not much else to engage with on GH.

LOL. My favorite kerfuffle is Serena telling Maria Jose Martinez Sánchez, “I’m gonna get you in the locker room for that. You don’t know me!”

Do the producers not realize the show is a** or do they legitimately think they're doing a good job
They seem absolutely impervious to viewer criticism. Peter is almost unanimously despised (not in a love-to-hate way), yet they’ve doubled down on him. GH feels like the one soap actually somewhat planned out longer term in a traditional way (like how the Brook Lynn pregnancy is converging with Maxie’s). It would be admirable if the stories weren’t almost all so bad.

Damn he is hot!
He’s gorgeous and seemed very sweet. He’s very close friends with Top Chef’s Antonia Lofaso, who came on the show and seemed more like a f*ghag/stereotypical straight gal pal.
He showed off his body A LOT, but spoke openly of struggling with eating disorders. Here he is, naked (with bits blacked out
When Tayshia dumped him, he looked totally shellshocked, in a slightly unsettling way:

Melissa Villaseñor did impressions of John Mulaney, Sarah Silverman, and Kate McKinnon as host of the Independent Spirit Awards. Not sure why SNL doesn’t build skits around her impressions:
