This has nothing to do with Federer who IMO is too perfect. Novak had a meltdown after he lost the bronze metal match and threw his racket. He should stop giving advice to others on pressure.
I’m certainly not going to (or trying to) convince anyone to feel differently on Novak. He’s no victim. But I’ve seen Roger throw tantrums frequently throughout his career to crickets from pundits. I wish the chattering classes would be more honest.

Ok so he wasn't nasty about that but the dude is still a crybaby shown many times including at the recent Olympics.
I don’t recall that at the Olympics. You mean his comments about the heat? Novak is faaaaar from perfect, but I don’t think he deserves the ire for doing things tons of players do all the time (like smashing his racquet). It’s also very lucrative to pitch him as the devil in contrast to the stainless, “classy” Federer, the cash cow of the sport.

Why are so many infatuated with Novak? He's basically a jerk and crybaby. I won't forget the comments he made about Simone Biles choking and then he went on to lose.
He didn’t make any comments about Simone. The peanut gallery on Twitter twisted his statements. He was talking only about he deals with pressure, particularly this year as he was in pursuit of a Golden Slam.

This is some A-grade pushing from Brooksby. He does not miss.

Novak can often start slow, but he better pull it together.

Just unbelievable. I saw the NY Post had posted it first, but waited until other outlets were also confirming it. (Not that I thought they were wrong, I just was in shock and needed more confirmation.)
Horrible.

I hope it’s a not another week of Phyllis raging against Sally for helping her daughter land a great job that she was too dumb to go after herself.
Victoria: “For once, I have to side with Phyllis after what Sally did to Summer.”

The dictionary definition of “ugly hot.” Such an icon. He and Jeanne Moreau dying makes me sad, but they lived long lives. JLG is still alive and kicking.

Speaking of MTOs and salty handshakes, I went to bed before the Krejcikova/Muguruza match, but I heard it was a whole mess.

Felix has ice in his veins.
FAA vs Alcaraz!
Frances loves to show off that body.
I am not mad about it.

Oof. Felix and that horrific error on that second set point. He would have had *nightmares* about that one if he hadn’t won that third set in a TB.
Really entertaining match.

John McEnroe calling Felix and Frances “these two young bucks”—his ass better be careful.

Ashley ain't my favorite, but the body-shaming of a recently pregnant woman was vile. And Candaice wonders why people stay busting her upside the head. She's just trash.
And she’s so obsessed with the breast milk too. There’s a lot to unpack there about her issues and insecurities surrounding motherhood.

U.S. men’s tennis has been so dire for the past 10-15 years, so we seem to get these articles every once in a while. They pinpoint the right players (Nakashima, Brooksby, Korda), I guess. At least those guys mostly break the mold of servebot-forehand-type of American ATP player we’ve seen get attention in recent years.
The drunk crowd is acting a whole-ass fool tonight on Ashe.
First time in the Open era that there are no American men or women in the quarterfinals at a Slam or just at the USO?
