“I’m sure you’ll get over it. I know I will.”
Go Trina! SM delivered that line perfectly.

I didn’t expect Jax to see Sonny/Mike so soon.

How about a murder-suicide!
One can dream…

Plus he needs to lay off the tanning/bronzer like his hero. He’s just icky and charmless now.
I definitely see the Fire Marshall Bill in Ava today. The sound folks can’t handle all this shouting. The audio gets shrill and distorted. Jeff Kober had that problem a lot when he started bellowing.

If Nina had Peter kill Jax, that would make Peter’s return so worth it.

Of course, Sascha wants the big screen fixed right before Lloyd Harris served on his set point in the tiebreak. That sort of disruption shouldn’t be allowed, but that’s another instance of tennis encouraging gamesmanship.

Amanda Kloots is doing DWTS, with her former co-host Carrie Ann Inaba on the judging panel.

I'm loving the new set.
I like the color scheme and the table, but that backdrop looks cheap to me. I dunno.

The guts of some of her shots at the right times have been unreal, the thing you can't teach. She's my hope for the winner on the women's side. I just really really don't want Bencic. But I don't think Raducanu is going to beat her. I feel like I'm on eggshells because it looks like a US Open win for Bencic right now.
The young lady from Britain did it!
The British press are going to be horrible to her. I haven’t been following their coverage. But they’re @ssholes.
People thought this USO wasn’t gonna be sh!t without Federer, Nadal, and Serena, and it’s been a blast.

The night session on Ashe was a bummer: Krejcikova basically listless and Alcaraz retiring.

Garbiñe must be fuming watching this match.

He’s so endearing. Just his smile and his accent.

And the Fernandez story continues.
I’m sorry but my heart can’t take these close matches. The most compelling Major tournament in recent memory.
Leylah is now No. 36 in the live rankings.

This girl is incredible. What wheels, what anticipation.

I'm happily surprised - I don't know whether it will hold or not, but I'm kind of shocked that Fernandez is in this match, just checked the score. I really thought she would get blown off the court.
Svitolina has made some adjustments in this second set. Will be interesting to see what happens if this goes to a decider.
However this shakes out, I admire the guts of these young women. They’re not getting flustered out there.
They’re just going about their business. Very professional.

I have always wondered, if I were an aging actor, if I'd prefer working until my last day, at the risk of making my character death sudden and done in a week, or if I would want to work with the show to set up a great storyline for my final exit, giving the time to get closure on storylines and past relationships and enough preparation for a rally spectacular exit and set up great stuff for the aftermath.
I am leaning on the latter tbh but I hear both cases.I lean the latter too, like Susan Flannery. Because what usually happens is the actor becomes too ill or frail to appear for months and months, if not more, and passes away suddenly. Their character is no longer a factor by that point. I’d prefer to get my flowers while I’m here to enjoy them and get a nice, dramatic planned send-off and retirement party. I get that for a lot of older actors, it’s about continuing to get benefits, staying active, having a support group, keeping habits built over decades, loving the craft, etc., and you never know when you’re gonna suddenly decline and not be fit to work. Plus it might make the performer aware of their mortality in an uncomfortable way. Up to the individual.

Botic being the first player to take a set off Medvedev this USO is hilarious! Tennis is comedy.
Botic vdZ is basically offering a more consistent elite player a roadmap of beating Meddy here.

This is me...
I fear the nastiness that would come Emma or Leylah’s way if they won a Slam so young in this day and age, but they seem likable, confident, and well-adjusted (for now). It would be a great story if either won. I don’t expect it, but it would be cool.

The match ended at 2:15am EST?! Crazy. You can’t start a match after 10pm. Something has to be done about that. Unfortunately, injuries is going to be part of Bianca’s career. The talent is there but she just can’t stay healthy for a long time.
Yeah, no way I’m staying up that late on a school night.
I heard Sakkari was spectacular. Hopefully she brings it against Pliskova. I’m pretty cool with anyone left except Pliskova or Bencic holding a winner’s trophy on Saturday.

Annnnnd “Butter” is back at No. 1, a tenth week in total, on the back of a Megan Thee Stallion remix. A couple of Kanye’s Donda tracks made the top 10. Drake’s new album will probably blow the chart out next week.

These ladies’ matches are on too late, oy. Andreescu and Sakkari look like they might be in it for the long haul tonight.
