  1. When Kelsey Grammer was on Letterman about a month ago, He told a story of one of his first auditions when he was 23 for OLTL. Actually his girlfriend at the time was there to audition and he was just accompanying her, but the casting director liked his look and asked him to audition as well. He had to read a scene with of all people, Dana Delaney (also unknown at that point in time). There was a kissing scene and Dana said to him "when it's time to do that part, let's just go all out" and Grammer explained on Letterman that he didn't know exactly what that would entail since he had never done that yet for his career. Basically, it meant that when it came time for the kiss, Delaney shoved her tongue down his throat and he just froze. He didn't get the part because he blew it, but she did get the part.

  2. I'm clueless as to who Remy is and what the original and more recent storylines were about...

From what I remember, he was a criminal. He was one of the people accused of murdering Jesse and it turned out that Jesse was accidentally killed because they were trying to kill Remington.

  3. The person with Amy is actually her husband, Lincoln Tyler then played by Paul Dumont. Ted was a more overweight, scruffy guy.

I bet they took stylish photos of all the original cast members for the press, we have just not been so lucky as to see very many of them.

The Linc in those photos is actually James Karen.

There were actually 3 Lincs before Peter White, including the actor who played Victor Collins on Port Charles.

Nicholas Pryor. There's a clip of him as Linc in the 1971 episode saynotoursoap uploaded on youtube.

  4. It might have helped Doug and Julie get a good SL considering Pat, Maggie, Sheri and Thom were fixing to change DOOL and go adventure style ala GH. Doug and Julie faded out around '83.

I remember reading that originally Pat Falken Smith wanted to focus more on Julie when she returned in 1981 and have Stefano connected to the Doug/Julie story more, but those plans were dropped when she left.

  5. We can thank Canada for that ad.

I thought Tad came back in 1993 but I guess the return must have been built up starting late 92?

I like how seriously everything is taken in that ad. No overdramatic narration or fake campy "soapy" crap. Just a character and a story.

    Yes, MEK returned late 1992.

  6. In the scene in the restaurant with Cecily and Josh, I did not recognize any of the other characters. Chet or Chad had more lines than any of the other characters, but I do not remember him. Cecily was evidently smitten with Sean Cudahy. I think that the show was trying to emulate the Liza/Marion relationship with Cecily/Bitsy.

I have an old AMC episode where Cecily mentions Chet, but that was the first time I remember seeing him. I did find this on a good search, a sypnosis from Feb 1990

All My Children: Emily Ann was stunned when Chet told her that Donna had worked as a hooker. Tad brought Emily Ann home after she went to the bar where Donna used to pick up johns. Benny came to Pine Valley and told Emily Ann about Donna`s past, but praised her for overcoming it to become successful. Donna thanked Chuck for helping her with Emily Ann. Donna nixed Benny`s suggestion that they get back together.

  7. Cecily reminded me a bit of Greenlee with the whole "Poor little rich girl" schtick, down to even both having story lines dealing with their retrospective trust funds and both started tormenting angelic type good girls (Julie/Becca), and they had obsessions with men too (Scott/Ryan for Greenlee and Charlie/Cliff/Sean for Cecily). Their mom's were similar too -- rich and distant.
