  1. I feel the same way about "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and "Saturday Night Live." When both shows went out of their way to normalize that monster, I was done. Same goes for "Today." Matt Lauer should have followed Billy Bush out the door, IMO. Honestly, were ANY network or cable shows left unscathed from Trump?
  2. You know what I think everyone should do about immigration? Nothing. Just leave it alone and let Trump keep being the nimrod he's shown himself to be. Trust me, after six more months of his crap, no foreigners will ever want to step foot in America again. In fact, Trump will be lucky if he doesn't end up with an American refugee crisis on his hands.
  3. I'm with Julia and marceline. Go ahead and launch an investigation of voter fraud. Hold a second election if you gotta. If they do and Trump wins the popular vote the second time around, then that petulant asshat will have the vindication he pathetically needs. BUT, if he loses again or the votes stay more-or-less the same, OR if they launch an investigation and determine his claims are without merit, then I don't want to hear another damn word on this matter from him OR his minions.
  4. As long as Trump is there to help push their cray agendas, Congressional Republicans have no intention of investigating any conflicts of interest.
  5. Gee, you'd almost think this administration isn't prepared to stick around for four years. ("Must not get my hopes up. I repeat: must not get my hopes up.") But seriously. It seems to me you have now within the current administration people who maybe know all the ins and outs of campaigning but know less than jack about actually running things; and that's when populism must give way to good, old-fashioned Establishment experience. If TrumpCo. wants to stop this bleeding, they'll have to reach out to the other wing of the GOP and get experienced professionals in there to help them organize. And they'll have to shut up for once and listen to whatever expertise these people can offer, no matter how much it KILLS 'em. Otherwise, it'll be one embarrassing "reboot" after another, with the only flip side being they'll be too distracted with damage control to wreck the economy and restrict civil liberties.
  6. I don't want to read too much into that video of Donald and Melania at the inauguration. I don't want to get my hopes up, lol.
  7. At this rate, I expect to see the Russian flag flying in front of the WH by the end of the week.
  8. I'm...not quite there yet, lol. Although I would agree that W.'s time in the WH now looks more peaceful in retrospect.
  9. That wouldn't surprise me. We've been saying all along how Trump supporters had voted against their own interests. Losing jobs through this and other means might not convince ALL of them -- and frankly, IDC anymore whether they will be convinced -- but it would serve them right to get exactly the kind of government they wanted (even if, I'm sorry to say, we have to suffer right along with them). Damn. To the people who didn't want this to happen and don't deserve it, I'm sorry. To the rest? Well, hopefully, you'll learn that misery doesn't always love company. Is Hillary Clinton done with politics? To the extent of running for office again, I would say so. If she were to run again, the other side as well as the media would rehash all the scandals. Of course, who KNOWS where this country will be once Trump gets through. More voters might ignore the static to keep from making the same mistake twice. But I don't know whether she should take that chance.
  10. Well, I hope they got paid beforehand. The last people who performed for Trump like that had to wait months before their checks came in the mail.
  11. It's like they expect it to go down the way it did when Rachel told Iris she knew she was "The Chief" on ANOTHER WORLD.
  12. Oh, is Trump already struggling? Pardon me while I play a very tiny violin. Why do I think this person who said Trump gets bored and watches TV comes from Yugoslavia and has a name that rhymes with "Trevania"?
  13. Frankly, I don't think his tax returns, if and when released, will contain any "smoking guns." I think people need to prepare themselves for that possibility, too. I DO think the longer TrumpCo. holds out, the more controversy it stirs -- which might be what they want, I don't know. They have to know, though, that even if the returns do reveal him to be less wealthy than he appears, it won't change how anyone feels on either side. To tell you the truth, I wish people would drop the issue or let it drop. It's clear he'll never release his returns, no matter HOW many times you ask him or petitions you threaten him with. It's also clear no one at the IRS is willing to play "Deep Throat" and leak 'em (unless someone wants to take Assange up on his offer, and as I've said upthread, I don't wanna WikiLeaks anywhere near this). Furthermore, how many times do we have to root around for MORE proof that Trump is a terrible person before we realize we're just shouting at the wind? Like I said, it won't change people's minds one way or the other; and frankly, I'm done with trying to convince Trump supporters not to buy his act any longer. No matter how much evidence you hand them, they either dismiss it as fake news or say they don't care. From now on, there should be one objective only: to hold him and Congress accountable for when they back out of their promises and/or screw up the government. Unless you have something that shows Trump committing an impeachable offense, do us a favor, Mr. Whistleblower of the Week, and keep your juicy story about Trump's fondness for Melania dressing up as Adolf Hitler before giving him bjs to yourself.
  14. For the record: if it ever comes down to a choice between having WikiLeaks release the returns or keeping them from the public indefinitely, I vote for the latter. No damn way should anyone make another deal with that devil. Thanks, MissLlanview, for sharing your account of the march! So glad you and Jane went to represent SON!
  15. If you think the comb-over looks bad now, wait four years. Mama Khan (who watches Fox News): That's not true! It's 43%! Me: That still means over half the people in this country hate his guts. (And I didn't even mention the margin of error. She's been so brainwashed by Fox News -- because they're the news, you see, and the news never lies -- that I can't anymore with her. This is when I miss Papa Khan the most.)
  16. Donald always looks like someone stole his woobie. Melania, OTOH, looks as if it's all she can do not to blow chunks.
  17. Whether he's there for four years or four hundred, I pray that Americans remain as safe as possible.
  18. It'll have to take a rogue IRS employee -- someone willing to risk his/her job and even jail time -- for us to get ahold of Trump's tax returns.
  19. That's what I have come to believe as well. In fact, the only member of the Trump family who I think wanted Donald Trump to be president was Donald Trump...and I'm still not even sure about him.
  20. Does anyone really believe it was Melania who convinced him to run? Does anyone really believe he even TALKS to Melania? If she actually said, "You know, if you run, you'll win," then she probably was being sarcastic. Which might explain all the Un! Comfortable! looks she's shooting us. But you know what? I can tell already that she's going to make a better First Lady than he will a President. That's why I've upgraded my opinion of the one I used to call First Supermodel.
  21. See, I don't see that behavior and think "spectrum disorder." I see it and I feel very, very afraid. But I say that and people think I'm just being mean to the kid because I don't want his father to be president.
  22. No one-word sentences? No spelling or grammar errors? Yeah, the second tweet is clearly not from him.
  23. The media has got to learn what merits REAL coverage with this man and what doesn't. Or else the only media left standing in this country will be Breitbart and Fox News.
  24. Are you talking about Rosie's claims that he might have autism?
  25. First of all, Donald, shut up. Second, that is not what I'd call unifying the nation, you schnook. Third, it was more than just celebrities out there marching. Fourth, you don't know how many out there had voted or hadn't voted, so again, shut up. And fifth, get back to work!!
