  1. Was it a good thing or bad that I was sick and had to stay home from work. Was able to watch parts of the mens final but was not able to really focus. But that point late in the 3rd set has to be one of the best, if not the best point that I have ever seen.

Roger said Novak's shot on match point was just a lucky shot....lol

He sure was bitter. Even the CBS announcers were taken back by his news conference.

  2. Glad to see Novak win. It was a great final!

    On a side note...Serena got fined a measly 3,000 dollars..what a joke

Did anyone hear Roger's comments to Novak's win over him and his forehand winner to avoid losing the match??

  3. Well it looks like Serena will be fined again. Does she ever learn? She was already on probation. ESPN2 is having a one hour special right now on Stosur's win and a look at the men's final. She was just interviewed and said she still cant believe she won.

The ESPN crew is down on Serena.....lol. They said she went too far with the umpire.

  4. Serena's mother probably doesn't even clap when one of her own daughter's win... bitch looks as cold as ice whenever they show her.

Serena played terrible, its as simple as that. Her serve was atrocious. Congratulations to Sam! The better of the two players today. She seems like such a cool, down to earth girl too! Hopefully her success continues to build, maybe at Melbourne in January!

You know the pressure will be on her more to win The Aussie Open In January. She shouldnt let the pressure get to her because she is now a grand slam champion.

I always wondered why she wasn't doing better in singles. I would see her playing doubles and winning and thought she'd be great in singles. Why isnt she doing good. Glad my impressions of her doing well in singles came true. I really enjoy her game and matches. Most of the female players are boring to watch and all they do is scream during each point.

I wish they would ban all the [!@#$%^&*] screeching during the points...its so annoying and not needed by the women players.

  5. I didn't know there was a hindrance rule! I understand why the rule is there but common sense needs to come in play. Serena yelling "Come on," didn't affect the outcome of the play at all. At the very least, they should replay the point because there's no way a player should lose a point in that situation. If it weren't for that play and Serena getting energized for at least a couple of games, it would've been over a lot quicker.

If I knew anything about Stosur's play, I would've bet on her! Her forehand is amazing. Also, Serena had a late match (the officials screwed up here again. They should've played the women's semis first, then the men's semis) and a toe injury. Stosur had good underdog money. Damn.

I don't see the big deal about Serena's camp not clapping.

The rain plus the long men's matches made the women's semis match start late. Stosur had a longer match that night.

I agree with you about Serena losing sooner than later had her I'm black so thats why you are against me routine again hadnt hapenned...please GMAFB.

Wow...you dont see a big deal about Serena's camp being bad sports...wow....lol

Btw....The Tennis Channel will rebroadcast the women's final tomorrow night after the men's final on CBS. The tennis channel will also rebroadcast the men's final after the women's final. I can't wait to hear Martina's comments on the whole Serena issue....lol

  6. Yay Sammy, didn't choke. Got to see the last game here, had the live scoreboard up in the back ground of my compter here at work.

Well done to Sam Stosur, 6-2 6-3

Sorry, but I do think that it was a little rude of the William's camp not to appauld after the match. It is like one of them makes the final they are expected to win.

I am glad Sam won. She truly deserved to win. I am so happy for her. She played a great match. I was glad she was able to recover after the whole Serena fiasco. I'm happy that her loss in the finals at the French Open made her stronger in this final.

Serena.....ugh....b itch needs to grow the hell up! She doesn't know the damn rules and yet again she is fighting and arguing with the umpire. She didn't even know she wasn't the same umpire that did her other match. Serena looked like a damn fool. It was deja vu all over again with the kim clijsters match. Serena is just a damn bad sport. She only calmed down because she knew there was egg all over her face. Sam played better than her and those are the facts. Her family not clapping for Sam was low. As Mary Carillo would say that's not cool.

  7. Great men's matches today. I didn't get to see the Djokovic and Federer match but have it on DVD. I did see the ending on CBS. The Nadal and Murray match was less entertaining yet good.

The women's semis ....boring....boring....Caroline sucked! Serena giving her free cheap points and yet she still couldnt take the second set to a tie breaker.....

Caroline will never win a major with the kind of game she has now.

  8. What an embarrassing performance from Roddick. ..lol

I actually felt sorry for him. He stunked up the place with his awful performance.

Damn...thought John might beat Andy Murray....I can't stand Murray.

The match I am looking forward to is Djokovic and Federer.

The other blah...dont like either player...but I'd rather Nadal win than boring no talent Murray.

All of Murray's obscenities were stupid. Seriously is Murray that dumb....lol

  9. Yeah, and Serena pretty much rolled over her.

That's what I thought. I wasnt sure if it was in the finals or semifinals. Glad Stosur is doing well in the tournament. Who the hell is her opponent...?...lol Never heard of her before...lol

  10. So Season 15 debuted yesterday. Watching on Hulu now. What does everyone think of the new set? It looks amazing but Im not sure I like it for the View. It looks too flashy, expensive for a show like the View. Its something Id expect for primetime. I felt the last set was more personal

    theview15.jpg

It looks like the 25,000 Pyrmaid with Dick Clark set...lol

    sucks

    ugly

    awful

Answer: What someone might say about the set of The View...lol

  11. And they do it to get better ratings. Most Americans will want to watch an American win, rather than a non-American.

Funny you should mention ratings. This years French Open final between Federer and Nadal was highly ranked. I don't know how well the Djokovic vs Nadal Wimbledon final did but I do get that they want to pimp the americans so the ratings can go up. I mean really..all the pimping Donald Young is getting in the US Open is absurd. Again like Fish he has accomplished even less.

If I were the ESPN commentators and CBS ones minus Mary Carrillo...I would worry about women's tennis. It's on a big downslide. The Women's final of the French Open this year did very poorly in the ratings.

  12. What a match between Wozniacki/Kuznetsova! My girl battled through that second set, down 4-1 in the set and already down a set. I would've been sad if Caroline lost on a day that Ana Ivanonic lost and course Maria Kirilenko losing yesterday.

I can't believe the Federer match is going to be played tonight! LOL I hope Federer wins and that it won't be a close one because I do not want to stay up to watch it.

Yeah, that Djokovic/Dolgopolov first set tie-break was amazing!

You might just get your wish...5-0 Federer already...lol

Some times it really does suck being at work lol. Even with the Aust Open.

But at the moment we have a great boss that lets us have the TV on in the Conference Room during our summer as long as there are no meetings lol.

But he is retiring about Jan of next year so we will need to train a new boss lol.

That's a nice boss you have....I hope Roger wins quickly too cause I have work in the morning...lol...if this drags on I will have to DVD the rest of his match and watch it tomorrow.

  13. It really sucks being at work. This match between Kirilenko & Stosur looks like it is a good one.

Can only view it by a live scoreboard up date.

It is the best match of the day. It was suppose to be on Arthur Ashe court but was moved. I kept waiting for it today and it never came on CBS. Kirilenko needs to shut up with all her damn noise grunting....go Stosur!

  14. I think the analysis sounds negative. I'm sure if the same stories were airing today, they'd be pulled apart to the nth degree too. It doesn't make Marland less of a complete, multi-layered storyteller.

I'm not saying the criticisms aren't accurate or valid, but it's so hard to recapture the details of the stories so many years later. What I know is that families interacted, every action had consequences, and people had honest motivations, even if they were the stupidest decisions of their lives. I may see Marland through rose-colored glasses, but he is definitely the gold standard. The idiots now are simply gold-colored [!@#$%^&*].

Re: Carolyn Crawford....it's the one time (or the most obvious) Marland rewrote one of his stories to suit his fan base, and it was a huge mistake. Rex Smith was hardly Olivier...and if I remember correctly, wasn't there a writer's strike that played into it somehow?

It was Darryl that was going to be the killer but Marland changed it. I think that's why the story went on for so long. Douglas wanted to go the route he had planned but was unsure so he keep making others look guilty. Parts of the story were great and others not. I really wish Marland would have gone with his initial plan and made Darryl the killer.

  15. Just waiting for Sam Stosur to choke yet again.

LOL...she has been looking good as of late. She is one of my favorites. I really dont care for the women's tour. The players are just so blah except for a few like Stosur, Kim and Serena.

So Roddick is under the lights tonight.... when was the last time he played a US Open not ranked in the top 10? Maybe less pressure will mean good things? Highly doubt it. Its too bad how inconsistent he has been. He won that US Open just as Agassi and Sampras were stepping aside. Maybe carrying that torch got to him? As a result the USA haven't really had anyone on the men's side to carry it since Pete or Andre. Fish seems to be making strides, however.

Roddick plays first tonight followed by Sharapova. He has a good draw but I dont see him doing much. He hasnt done much to change his game. He turned 29 yesterday. He was last seeded out of the top 20 back in 2000.

  16. Of the top seeds today, Nadal seemed to have the most trouble. Even though he won hi 3 sets, all 3 sets were hard fought. Serena cruised to a straight set first round victory. She's looking good! I really want her to win. It will cap off her comeback.

Tonight's matches were rather boring. I enjoyed Nalbandian's match though today.
