  1. "I had one drink....maybe more."  End of show.  Jesus Christ, this show.  LOL.   At the end of yesterday's episode, Chase was going to find Tracy to tell her the news, and then nothing today.  For months we saw Gregory/Tracy's friendship, so when he dies, we don't even get to see her reaction?  I just never expected to see the writing from this regime to be this bad.

I thought Jophielle Love was great in those emotional scenes yesterday.  I know people make fun of her because her character can be annoying at times, but I do think Jophielle is talented.  I think she's going to be really good as she gets older.  She reminds me of McKenna Grace and Alyvia Alyn Lind who both showed a lot of potential at that young age when they were at Y&R.

That would make a lot of sense. They have to be careful about not appearing to fire writers for having gone on strike.

If I remember correctly, DAYS did fire the entire writing staff during the 2007 strike.  I think some of them came back but most of them didn't.

Toups, I didn't realize that you were an NFL fan.  I guess I gave into the stereotype of Canadians and assumed you were all about hockey.  Go Islanders!! (next year).

The NFL is actually my favourite to watch.  :)  If you or anyone else wants to talk about the NFL, feel free to post.  I'll definitely join in on the discussion.

What was so dramatic about the wedding?

I watched the episodes after all the hype and expected to watch... something?

You weren't on the edge of your seat to see if Gregory was able to make it through the ceremony? LOL.  It's 6 straight weeks now of the show being major snoozefest.

    Pass.

How does this contribute to the thread?  You know you don't have to post anything, or make any passive aggressive remarks towards people whose opinions you disagree with/don't like.

I was convinced that Patrick Mulcahey COULD be a good HW when I watched B&B's transgender storyline, a story he was largely responsible for, and the last time B&B had any writing with any depth to it.

With all due respect, @Toups: I understand your POV, but I'm not gonna debate a subject like this with someone who thinks JER is the greatest soap writer who ever lived. On his own, the man had 3-4 good years at one show; and even though his writing managed to pull said show out of the ratings gutter, there is still debate over whether his success came at the expense of the show's integrity.

@ranger1rg, on the other hand, is someone whose opinions on this I take seriously, or more seriously, because at least they remember when Y&R was written by people who knew how (even if we'll have to agree to disagree about Shick, I think, lol).

I don't think JER is the "greatest soap writer who ever lived."  LOL  He was my favourite though.  I know what his faults were, but I still enjoyed a lot of his stories.  Also, you don't have do "debate" me on anything. You didn't even have to reply to me.   I was just stating my opinion.

This deification of Patrick Mulcahey is too much for me.

Great scriptwriter? Yes -- we have proof of that. We do not have proof that he's a great head writer or even a capable one. We do have evidence that GH -- in my opinion -- is not working right now.

I have no idea of story direction or story existence. I have no idea of what's going on with all these "career changes," especially for the women. I have no idea why this cast is still beyond bloated.

Is PM to blame for any of that? I don't know, but I can't give him credit for any good changes and blame others for everything that's wrong. How does he get credit for a sensitive, nuanced Tracy and no blame for a former cover model who becomes a cook?

A huge chunk of audience has left since PM started, and we all know that heads roll when that happens. If Mulcahey was the writer fighting Valentini, Korte, Van Etten, Varni, and everyone else, then it's obvious he's the one to go.

No, I don't know or have any hope the show will be "good" without him, but I do know it isn't good with him. "His stories haven't started yet" doesn't work for me. This transition has been a disaster.

I don't put stock in ANYTHING actors said about PM, or in anything they'll say about the new team. It's all transactional for them, and they want to keep their jobs. They say what they have to say to remain employed.

Mulcahey was never going to have control over Valentini and Korte, who have been at GH forever. We thought he'd be the GH savior, but he wasn't. Is that because he wasn't given enough  power? Maybe, but that's irrelevant. Expecting a 70+ year old  guy to work miracles within a structure like the one at GH was never going to happen.

Agreed.  The fact is we don't know who is responsible for what.  All the "good" things are by Mulcahey and all the "bad" things are Korte/Valentini....like come on.  We just don't know.   I'm a Mulcahey fan......a fan of is script writing.  I wanted him to succeed and make GH better, but clearly, he wasn't able to.  Sometimes, writers aren't meant to be HWs - they are better as staff members.   Just like in the NFL, some coaches, such as Josh McDaniels, Steve Spagnolia, Wade Phillips, just to name a few, are great coordinators but were not very good at the head coaching position.   I really hope this won't be the last we see of Mulcahey and hope he joins The Gates......but as a script writer, a position where he is probably the best to ever do it.

Korte being HW still scares me because of her hard-on for Jason/Carly.

  8. GH has now fallen in Total Viewers for FIVE straight weeks and are almost an an all time low (if you don't count a certain week in 2020 where they had an unscheduled airing).   You can't have these crappy endings and expect people to want to watch the next episode.

Something tells me that was more Frank Valentini's doing (but I could be wrong!).

Yes, that's a pretty good assumption. He's worked with Frank since the early 2000's.  It makes sense that he's back as a BDW.  Would not be surprised if Dan returns as the 5th BDW.

  10. Another lackluster week where nothing happens.  You know the show is bad when Y&R is a little bit better. LOL  Where are the villains and schemers?  Where are the cliffhangers?  Where are the endings of an epsiode where you say, "I can't wait to watch the next episode."???  Where are the soapy elements of a soap opera?  There's just too much talking.  It's been like this for about 5 weeks now.  The show was never this boring for this long under Dan and Chris.  Under their tenure, I've never had GH ranked last out of the 4 soaps, but it's last for me right now.

I was afraid it was too slow-loading to scroll through.  I was inserting three tweets into each post, and then waiting a while to start the next post.
I thought that would be more readable,
but it was taking forever to load, and almost not worth it.

Then I replaced a lot of the tweets and ig posts with credited images, to make it load a little quicker.

But I'm still wondering if it's too much, or if there's some way to make it more readable/scrollable?   Any suggested would be welcomed.

    @Errol  @Toups  or anyone reading.

Woah.  Yes, posting too many pictures/tweets can mess with the loading.   I would suggest putting them in spoiler tags.
