  1. I'm going to be a little bit more direct about Ms. Duckworth's explanation. There is something that's referred to as "walking and chewing gum at the same time." If you truly know what you're doing, then this would not be seen as a challenge, which begs the question: How much experience do these people have as writers? She talks about storyline beats? Well, they've missed a lot of those even with storylines moving like snails and flowing like molasses. Soooo......And I would've loved if she had mentioned, for example, putting a storyline and characters on the shelf in March, then returning to that storyline and characters in September. These storyline gaps feel unnecessary and doesn't help, and has played some part in viewer dissatisfaction.
  2. Sure, and I think it would be very good if they were red herrings, as it would surprisingly be a first, and make things on this show much less predictable.
  3. I think the theory largely comes from character dialogue and innuendo. Most notably, Anita saying to Vernon, I think more than once, that he'd never cheat on her. Sure, there's zero actual proof thus far, but dialogue and innuendo is what people are giving the side eye to.
  4. I think June is going to better herself, which ironically, will be what causes further complications for the family. June is going to eventually win back the hearts of her children. Martin will become accepting of it while poor Smitty will be left seething about the whole thing. Smitty clearly doesn't appreciate June's presence. The hostile look he had on his face last week towards June said it all.
  5. I knew this situation with June was going to become complicated. Whether or not they care to admit it, Samantha and Tyrell are starting to feel something for her.
  6. Baffling, isn't it? When they KNOW who Leslie is, what she's done, and most certainly what she's capable of.
  7. The continous innuendo sure isn't helping to dispel a certain belief. Stop it show. Stop it.
  8. This is my first time seeing a soap from the very beginning as well. I tend to believe that the soaps of the past did have their share of growing pains from the very start, but here's also the deal in my opinion, along with those growing pains there was patience on the other side of it. Audience patience, specifically. People were far more willing to stand by and support these soaps as they attempted to grow. That level of patience no longer exists here in 2025. I have to question whether MVJ and her team even realizes this? Please MVJ and crew read this: TODAY'S AUDIENCE IS NOT YESTERDAY'S AUDIENCE. It's either sink or swim, IMMEDIATELY!
  9. Perhaps if it hadn't been made crystal clear that Dante Green played a very integral role in the lives of The Articulettes, then his lack of presence wouldn't have mattered so much. We watched these three women squabbling in disagreement for weeks with Mr. Green being mentioned several times. I reasonably kept expecting him to show up as a result, but nothing.
  10. I would never be too quick to dismiss fan theories. Many of them have been as much right as they've been wrong. These things can always go either way, and this show is quite predictable too, so there's that.
  11. Once again, I have mixed feelings about a lot of this. I don't like the idea of Vernon being this woman's father simply because why would they use this plot point AGAIN, and so soon after using it twice previously. No creativity here. But at the same time, it would be the kind of drama resulting in real crap hitting the fan for many obvious reasons, so I don't know. I also feel like Dante Green should've been introduced while Anita, Tracy, and Sharon were squabbling for weeks. Now the three women have made peace and Tracy and Sharon are about to embark on a fabulous new journey. Dante Green should've already been present through all of it. So he shows up later to discover he's fathered a horrid daughter with a dead woman. Sounds like a "who cares" type of an outcome. Father and daughter deserve each other. Just give Silkpress her due and they can both go their merry way. But will it all turn out this simple? Stay tuned!
  12. It certainly appears that this show has adopted a certain pattern. I suppose Jacob is next for infidelity?
  13. There definitely is a man shortage on this show. Look no further than the main family. Six Dupree women and only two Dupree men. And if, and I do mean IF, Leslie is unmasked as a Dupree, then that will make two more women connected to the family. Eight Dupree women vs. two Dupree men.
  14. What a relief! I'm so glad she didn't say Anita. Now, who's Silkpress's daddy?
  15. I have prepared myself to be horrified by today's possible ending. That's all for now.
  16. It's Peaches. Hair and wardrobe worked their magic on this young woman to make her look like some sassy old woman.
  17. Peaches is not her real mother.
  18. I think so too honestly but you never know. I definitely expected Peaches to be her mother but they immediately put the kibosh on that one.
  19. And if you shop around social media, ANITA is suddenly in the running as Silkpress's mommy. Please no! This would not hold up well.
  20. The four squares of families at the end was interesting. I wonder if it was to convey something very very specific?
  21. The imagined Dupree black sheep would definitely work in the form of the proposed Dupree son that I think the family needs. The son was banished from the family years ago by Anita and Vernon because of his wicked and disloyal ways (at least as Anita and Vernon perceives it).
  22. If Leslie suddenly morphing into some rich b***h via an inheritance keeps her around then BRAVO! But at the same time I have mixed feelings about it. I still think this show needs some "have nots" in the mix to form a balance, preferably in the form of a full family, like many, myself included, have suggested previously. Leslie and Eva are currently "have nots" but obviously that's about to change. Does Kat look awesome or what? Red suits her. That dress suits her. Her hair is gorgeous. Everything.
  23. Just in case this is referring to me. I trust nothing about this show. The showrunners, the writers, the writing, and most certainly, the lack thereof. Even with less than six months in. Besides, all of this would make old man Vernon look like SUCH a hypocrite, wouldn't it?
  24. Lawd. Whispers and theories oozing the grapevine are calling Leslie, ahem, get this, Vernon's illegitimate devil spawn with the late Articulette Barbara. I don't know. Smh.
