  1. Lady Gaga seems more like Rhianna or Gwen Stefani than she does Madonna to me.

Who said she is Madonna? I meant precisely what Alvin outlined in detail – she wants that kind of status in 2 albums or less with sh!tty, cheap, garbage songs. Which can be fun, but she ruins it with "messages" and "amazingness".

  2. I find it amusing that she wants to be bigger than Madonna. There are no Madonnas in this age, being a Madonna is an outdated concept. It's not possible. That and there's the fact that even Madonna is irrelevant, bitter middle aged woman.

Who hasn't had much to offer in the last decade or so.

  3. The acting certainly is bad yet almost charmingly so.

Perhaps this is a chance to point out that, given your degree from an esteemed acting institution, I have always expected of you to write a nice little "technical" post about who are daytime's good and bad actors and why, in terms of technique, bad habits etc. Somehow it never materialized, LOL.

  4. Something fails in creative execution with this woman that I can't put my finger on. She just tries so hard to be seen as someone iconic and original and it comes off as the complete opposite. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the new album is concerned with hitting people over the head with messages like the title song is (which I don't necessarily mind message-wise). Gaga seems to think and perpetuates this image that she's more than just your average pop star, but really, she's not.

Added to that, she seems to have very little sense of humor about herself, no matter what Eric claims earlier in this thread. Everything seems so serious with her, like she thinks all of humanity depends on her sticking up for the gays and misfits for some reason.

Also, god knows she tries, but there is absolutely no sex appeal to this woman at all. Stop trying Gaga, you're pretty fug even without all the makeup and bizarre clothing.

If you have to constantly keeping telling us that this is the song and album of the decade, something is obviously wrong there.

It's funny that the Wikipedia article on her doesn't have a Criticism subsection.

  5. But everything celebrates the asocial and troubled. LOL. Glee is a perfect example of that. So is alot of what is behind this ridiculous bullying campaign hyped up by the likes of Ellen, etc. It's not to say that bullying is a "good" thing and I'm not endorsing that, but since when has it ever been a good thing to raise a nation of overly sensitive people that just always accuse someone of bullying them and are never taught to stand up for and defend themselves?

    ANYWAY...

As far as that goes, what I meant by "recording more songs" like the ones I mentioned is not so much the same sound or the same style, but she needs to realize that she's not some political figure with a message. She's a pop star. And her lyrics need to be fun and fluffy.

Unfortunately. She also takes it on a whole new (terrifying) level.

  6. I want to hear more infectious tunes like "Beautiful Dirty Rich," "The Fame," "Money Honey," and "Boys Boys Boys."

Except... How many times exactly can you re-record the same songs? Before becoming niche? And then irrelevant?

I find her whole persona completely insane. Almost wretched. The songs could be fun, but the message makes them problematic. Not the political or social one, the bizarre occult references and things like that. Furthermore, her message to troubled teenagers isn't really all right at all. If you're asocial and troubled, you shouldn't be celebrating that, you should be seeking professional help from a licensed psychiatrist. D'oh.

  7. I sincerely hope it does, although I am doubtful at this stage.

<span style="font-size:120%;">"Do you think people wanna see your decay?" Cooper asked.

"What? Of course they do," Gaga replied. "They wanna see me fail, they wanna see me fall on stage, they wanna see me vomiting out of a nightclub. I mean, isn't that the age that we live in? That we wanna see -- people who have it all lose it all? I mean, it's -- it's dramatic. And it's…"

"And then climb their way back," Cooper interjected.

"Right. It's a movie," Gaga responded. "And -- and yet I just am not like that on -- on my own time. … I'm not a vomit in the club kind of girl."

Gaga also told Cooper to call her -- Gaga -- but said she likes to be called by her given name -- Stefani -- in bed.

You can see the entire interview on "60 Minutes" Sunday a 7 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. Central, on CBS.

  8. I do have to wonder if they knew what they were doing with the words "chola" and "orient." I mean, "Latin" could fit for "chola" and "Asian" for "orient." That way, you run less risk of some obscure civil rights group burning your posters.

    They already are.

  9. <span style="font-size:120%;"> TMZ reports a judge in L.A. County Superior Court signed the quickie divorce decree Thursday morning. In order to get the divorce, Kelsey had to post $2.3 million, which protects Camille's pension rights against any new spouse.

The site reports Kelsey and Camille will work out their property settlement issues at a later date.

The divorce finalization also means the former Frasier star can pursue his plans to wed his girlfriend, flight attendant Kayte Walsh.

Kelsey and Camille, who have two children together, split last year while Camille was filming the hit Bravo reality show.

She has said Kelsey encouraged her to shoot the show so she would be distracted as he romanced another woman.

"I have a great many mixed feelings about today — I'm sad for what was, yet excited for the road ahead," Camille said in a statement. "What I hope is that Kelsey and I can improve our communications and truly co-parent our two wonderful children."

  10. Agreed! I was underwhelmed by the promo. No one strikes me as fabulous, amazing, or unique. Hopefully I'm wrong. I can't bear to look at that psychic either.

I thought one of them was supposed to be a transsexual? I guess that was just a rumor?

Miami looks kind of boring, judging from the small preview. I'm sure I'll watch it, but I'm not really that exciting for ANOTHER new cast - especially when I've been looking forward to the NYC women since last summer.

I think the reason they are delaying NYC is because the footage may not be that great, at least that's what one article from Popeater was implying. I guess with Bethenny no longer on the show, there's a much different feel to it.

Yes. I will give it a try, but I'm not optimistic.

Too bad. I feel as if it's an opportunity missed.

  11. I cannot tell Sylph how delighted I am to hear that she rents in Bel Air. That really is the cherry on top of the poser sundae.

    I know!

And for the record, I think Andy Cohen is terrific.

He's also a terrible interviewer, I forgot to add.

All this being said, I could do away with all these ladies. Bring in a whole new crew and I'd be happy!

Though I would miss the pernicious Camille!

    Thoughts?

The 'cast' looks bland. I was hoping for something hotter.

  12. I am not trying to push my view. I can not stand her. Period. Kyle has nothing to do with it, and doing a side by side comparison is so not your style so again, i am confused as to why you are pushing it.

Why wouldn't it be natural to talk about her too? The side-by-side comparison seems effective in this case. No?

As for the Lisa/Cedric thing, i do not take that comment as much of anything. Even if they were swingers or brought him or whatever, it doesnt matter. She cared for him, obviously, and he played her. Do i think it was sexual? No. But i do not know it wasnt anymore than you know it was.

Speculations are running wild: people are mentioning drugs, sexual preference of certain people in that triangle, knives and stabbing. It's awful.

I do not think the way she said it was wrong at all. I think she worded it as nicely as it needed to be worded. Could she have made a whole story up and assured Kim it wasnt because anything was wrong with her and perhaps she just isnt his type, etc.. yes. But that was so not needed and would have been terribly fake on her end. Just not her.

    Well, I don't. LOL.

It is not that i ignore it. It is that i do not much care about it. It is something that me, you, and the rest of the internet debating will not solve. If it comes out, i will be all over it. If it does not, my life will be ok. Really.

    Mine would be too.

I just wanted to clearly point out how interestingly fishy it all is.

  13. So ive been more requently wrong from about mid 2009? Thats a long time! LOL.

I just think you've... lost interest in SON. It's as if at a certain point you just couldn't be bothered. You loved DOOL, posted only about DOOL, that produced a few if any results at all, there were just Cat and Dr. Daytime posting in those threads and you could tell their opinions without reading them. I don't know. Just like everyone else, you've just deserted the place.

I do think she thinks so. I think it is obvious and i am not sure how or why you are trying so desperately to make it clear cut when it is not. Any time she almost took ownership and restorability for anything she would then back track it and in a way not own up to it. She maybe clearly apologized and owned a thing here or there, but even the dinner party she just says got out of hand and it wasnt her intention, it so was. She even, at some point recently, denied that she told crazy psychic lady anything when there was a scene showing her telling her everything.

I don't. She was nasty, she made terrible comments. The psychic was a hired gun. I wrote about it before. Yet... And I know it doesn't make things any better, but Kyle did the same. It was just a pre-set battle. Camille/psychic vs. Kyle/decorator. I guess I'm constantly pushing Kyle into it because – you're not. For several reasons, whether it's really true or not, the story about Camille being vicious and vile doesn't hold up. As much as it used to.
