All soaps got bumps, Sad YR was preempted, I don't think they care about a regime change now in the middle of a pandemic, Josh will probably keep writing until probably July if they come back than.

  Shey: Sharon shows strength in her battle with cancer and has a lot of support. Rey struggles with providing Sharon support without taking away her independence.

Villy/Bimanda: He will continue to live on the wild side with his new independence. This troubles Victoria because of his ability to parent. Billy and Amanda's relationship continues to grow when a shocking event pushes them even closer. Jill will try to keep Billy occupied with a new project, that benefits her, also in hopes to keep him away from Amanda.

Elevon: They are forced to put their differences aside with Amanda when they share common ground with her about an issue that hits close to home.

Abby: Suffers a setback but it will allow her to see Chance's commitment to their relationship in a new light.

Teriah: Relationship is tested with Tessa being on tour.

Do I think there are better writers out there? Yes. But of the people who we're liable to get who could potentially write the show in a manner that's familiar with characterization I could engage with, Sally isn't a bad choice. Now, I will also say that I would feel a lot better if she were paired with someone who could inject some pizzazz into her stories, as I do agree she can get a little bit blah, but I don't think she's completely lacking in talent, either. Considering the talent pool that's left, I could think of a lot of people who would be far worse than Sally.

I also can't  totally blame Sally for DAYS losing #2 after JER. No one was going to maintain the ratings he brought. Especially considering the fact two of his most popular stories ended just before Sally took the reigns. I think it was to be expected that most anyone that took over from Reilly was going to cause the show to lose some steam.

I would definitely give sally another shot. Her last stint was a mess but she was just thrust in there without a plan.

i'm a new viewer so bear with me but, Whats the deal with Stefano? Did he like have plastic surgery to look like Steve or was he memory mapped like on GH? lol

I used to think Days or GH would be the first to get cancelled.  The way Y&R is tanking - I think they're going down.  Just wait until they start cutting that budget and we get to laugh the way they did over Guiding Light.  Drew Barrymore, save CBS Daytime Stat.  And bring on a 2nd half hour of The Talk to get rid of B&B.  

 

And when I was still watching somewhat - did Tracy and Lauren have any interaction?  Have they ever since they have both been "back" on the show even though they really aren't - marginal stories.  The writers no matter who it is don't mine any history of this show.  

Why are you here though if you hate the shows so much they should be cancelled?

Yes, I don't care who the writer is, you can't have your expectations too high when you hire somebody with one day notice. She had to immediately start getting scripts ready and come up with storylines while doing that as well as figuring out what all has happened in the 10 years you were away. This certainly explains why the show was light on story when she started, but I remember by the summer in LA the show was definitely picking up steam. Considering nothing damaging had happened I would've at least kept her for another year just to see what happens. I don't know why think think a new writer every year or two is gonna save the show. This is just like what happened to GL, ATWT, AMC and OLTL.

I wouldnt be surprised if she gets another shot. Tonys her wife if they are looking for someone he can easily say "Hey my wife wrote the show once!"

I recall her doing an interview where she said she was hired and had to immediately start working so she didn't have time to prepare. Whoever gets the gig this time will have that time since JG has the contract extension. She also didn't get a full year. I do feel her time on the show while not perfect was the last time the show was good. The way she wrote the show just felt like Y&R. The stories weren't always successful, but the day-to-day show was very enjoyable for me.

I hope so. Say what you will about mal and pratt but they knew what stories they were gonna do.

I think sally could have been better. She was thrown into the job right after her brother died and canned after 6 months which is not enough time to make a change.

1) I guess I'm the only one that liked Sally's last run. I don't mind being solo on that.  But boring...no. Only real time other that double mess that Cane was ever interesting. And so many possibilities for someone who said she fell by the seat of her pants. Allegedly.

But yeah idk if they are going in house. If they were i think they would just promote Sarah Bibel and Amanda Beall.
