  1. I would love to see that and any other early promotional materials. In the first in-depth article that Soap Opera Weekly did ahead of Passions premiere, Jason Olive was featured as if his role of Frank was going to be a much more prominent character than he ended up becoming. The show teased a possible Frank and Whitney pairing. I wonder if that was scrapped or ever meant to go anywhere.
  2. I often times think about that but from a different perspective. Jim died only 2 months after Passions had its series finale. Had Passions been renewed for a 10th season on DirecTV, I wonder if Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas who were both serving as associate head writers during the entire shows run would have been promoted to head writers. Of course a few years later they would both head write DAYS.
  3. So sad the blood ended up on Passions hands. Before the show launched Jim Reilly did an interview saying NBC told him early on that the network wanted 4 soaps. NBC’s foolish decision to cancel AW could have been a potential audience that may have otherwise tuned in.
  4. I recently came across this video from Access Hollywood on Passions before it premiered in 1999. I’m sure it must’ve been exciting back then to be able to catch a soap from the very beginning... if you weren’t a disgruntled Another World fan of course. From those that remember, was there a lot of buzz surrounding Passions back then leading to the launch? From this video the supernatural elements seem to be hidden as well as in other early promos I’ve seen.
  5. Hmm, yet she did Jeepers Creepers 2 right after 🤔
  6. It’s been over a year since the cast brought up the Castleton spin off at the fan fest, is this still happening? I can’t find any information on it.
  7. HAPPY 19TH ANNIVERSARY PASSIONS!!! Picture was taken at the reunion the cast had last year at the Hollywood & Highland Center. Has anyone heard anymore news regarding the Castleton series?
  8. Does anyone know the circumstances that led Robin Strasser to leave OLTL and play Hecuba on Passions? She recently said on Twitter how much fun it was playing that part.
  9. I would love to see Jim Reilly’s bible for this show and see how much things changed. Rewatching the early episodes it seems as though they’re setting up a Frank and Whitney romance but then he disappears and Chad hits the scene.
  10. Reading this early preview of Passions makes Theresa sound like a vixen. Also, interesting to note Jason Olive’s role of Frank seems like it was meant to be bigger. It lists his character name as Frank Petito which ends up being Frank Lomax.
  11. From Dana Sparks Instagram...
  12. Has anyone heard about a new Passions spinoff in the works called Castleton? That's the same town Charity and Faith lived in before the fire. i was told it was brought up during the Passions Reunion and social media. Anyone know anything about this?
  13. I'm surprised the soap blogs aren't covering the reunion. Here are some write ups I found... Soap Opera Digest: http://www.soapoperadigest.com/photos/passions-fan-festival/ LA Weekly: http://www.laweekly.com/arts/fans-celebrate-passions-the-weirdest-soap-opera-in-the-history-of-daytime-tv-8459016 Lena Cardwell (original Simone) has finally come out of hiding! She looks good. Brook Kerr literally never ages. Donn Swaby on the other hand lol
  14. is anyone going to the Passions reunion tomorrow in LA? I'm surprised most soap blogs and sites aren't covering this.
  15. The cast was just on KTLA tonight promoting the reunion:
  16. Any of you in Los Angeles? The cast will be on KTLA next Wednesday: https://mobile.twitter.com/PassionsFanFest/status/885982166865264640
  17. Lindsay Hartley just posted this to her Instagram of the cast gearing up for the Passions Fan Fest:
  18. Passions 18th Anniversary is today, the show premiered July 5, 1999...
  19. I aways thought that had the show continued that Ron Carlivati would have been a good fit for Passions after Reilly's passing. I honestly can't see anyone else doing it.
  20. October seems so far away. I don't doubt I'll end up binge watching the new season as well.
  21. They have a good amount of the cast participating in the Passions Fan Fest reunion next month... Andrea Evans McKenzie Westmore Galen Gering Eric Martsolf Lindsay Hartley Travis Schuldt Donn Swaby Chrystee Pharris Rodney Van Johnson James Hyde Kim Ulrich Dana Sparks Jade Harlow Taylor Anne Ramsey Juliet Mills Marianne Muelerlile Kathleen Noone Wish other soaps would do this. Here's an ad they posted too from when Passions first started...
  22. This video gave me goosebumps, I've never seen it before! I agree with the poster that mentioned all the supernatural elements were hidden, I wonder if that was intentional? Has anyone heard about the Passions Fan Fest in LA this summer? How I wish I could go to see the reunion. Have you heard about this @Toups?
  23. I echo this. I'll give it a shot only because I'll be watching Riverdale and this follows. Hope the actual show exceeds our expectations.
  24. Agreed, I'm also not sure if it's the greatest lead in for Dynasty but I'll be watching.
